Thank you. I am totally new to SpectralLayers (but not to DAW/Audio/Editing etc) and bouhjt the product in the recent Steinberg sale. For me, with no previous knowledge og the tool, this was an excellent introduction for me.
Thanks everyone, very enjoyable stream. Sorry, there was not more interaction from me, concentrating hard... For Mark: Unmix Levels: Peak Power, Absolute Power, Average Power. I have also placed a comparison in the info above.
Wonderful informative video that has taken you a lot ot time to make, I really appreciate it and wishing you another few zeros on your subs number. Thank you
Thank you for the kind words. This was a live stream, so it took only as long as it lasts. Haha. Of course, yes, quite a lot of preparation involved. Thanks again.
Wowza!! I absolutely LOVE this song! Reminds me of some Pink Floyd or something. Is that you or some band you were working with? Most excellent! As for the software, I’ve been using RipX and pretty happy but I am really thinking about getting this SL10 tonight. I am hoping that you get what you pay for and that this is a bit better sounding than RipX. But wow on the song track!!
Hi there. Metadata in SL10 has the following options: Creation Date Engineer Software Name/Title Artist Copyright Comments Source/Album Track Genre Technician Keywords URL Subject Location Version Organization compatible_brands major_brand minor_version I hope that helps. :-)
Hey Phil, Great tutorial but I'm not having any luck bring in the CSV marker from SL 10 into Nuendo and have them lime up in the correct location in the session where the video and audio is also sometimes the dialog transcription it would come in but most time Im not getting nothing in the dialogue box. Am I missing any steps?
Hi there, seems like you are doing it all correctly. Are you using ARA? Did you have chance to check the timestamps in the exported csv file? Maybe try it with a few small dummy projects with just 1 or 2 lines. Tricky to discuss this in detail here, perhaps you can jump over to my Discord. Link is in Description. Thanks for watching. 🙂
Hello. “Unmix multiple voices” - THIS FUNCTION DOES NOT WORK!!! I loaded the simplest fragment of a duet into the program (male and female vocals). The duet sings to the accompaniment of the piano. There is no extraneous noise. The program was unable to recognize male and female vocals separately. What is the reason?
I’m posting Robin’s reply to the exact same post that you made on the Steinberg forum: This feature is more designed for dialogues than for singing duets. What you can try though (after unmixing the piano with Unmix Song) is apply Voice Denoiser with type “Other Voice” to segments where both voices overlaps.
@@PhilPendlebury Thank you. This method helped me. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the quality result I wanted, but at least I now know about this method. Thanks again !👍
@@PhilPendlebury I've had mixed results (pun intended) with this feature. It is a new one and will no doubt improve over time but as for now it's barely useful as a commercial product. Still impressive though, unmixing voices being an extremely difficult nut to crack for AI. I get better results with mp3 than better quality formats such as WAV or FLAC oddly enough. And better results also without prior denoising as opposed to what's advised by Steinberg. Any input on how to improve the output hugely appreciated. I try to unmix two voices, one main speaker and a translator speaking on top of him.
Hi there, in fact most of the demo was done using Spectralayers in standalone mode, which does not require a DAW host at all. There is a section at the end of this video showing Spectralayers in use inside Nuendo which uses ARA technology. For this you will have to check if you DAW host can use ARA. There is some discussion about this here that may help: forum.juce.com/t/what-daws-support-ara/53876/3
Hello sir! I am from Sri Lanka. Please provide a solution that removes both voice and flute part (background playing ) from this software..i think this software best for western song only this software fail better work for esten song
AFAIK. There is no auto detect tempo feature in SL. My method for this is to set Time Display to Seconds, select 4 bars and play it and adjust, so that it loops nicely. Then create a Time Region. Get the length of the selection and use a calculator to work out the BPM. Something like this: www.omnicalculator.com/other/bpm where you can type in number of bars (4) and number of seconds (you got this from the length of the region). There may be other ways to do this though. And of course, this is no use if the tempo is variable. I will demo this in my forthcoming livestream this month.

Not sure about that one, I do not have any eastern source material to check it with.
