Roger Corman was a legend of cinema, giving starts to countless major actors/directors throughout the decades. Movie history would not be the same without him. R.I.P.

Wow! I use to live in LA. TMZ posted a KTLA clip of Frank Buckley, his on air co-worker, breaking down in tears while reporting his colleague's story.

Since I don’t live in L.A. I was surprised to know who he was, just after passing away. I know he touched the lives of many, in his community, and in the entertainment industry.

    tribute to roger
got known of him and his series of film adaptations just checking the tv schedule in the local newspaper El Norte de Castilla. it was a tuesday, at the middle of a hard Poe's obsession,1997. some may understand if i add that i liked some of Poe's stories so much that I have not read them ever again. in this context his films arrived, with Vincent Price in them, as a Kinder surprise.
wonder why I ventured that the guy would be a prestigious but not very well known director, coming from decades of theatre, more english than american, already old, with both strong authorial and literary obsessions...
one evening, wandering with friends throught the halls of the great San Nicholas' Library, Valladolid, I came across a book (something like "How I Made 300 films in Hollywood and I never lost a cent"). Read his biography -happy and shocked that our library had adquired a copy-, and found out that the only thing I had done right was to be wrong about absolutely everything, but that was only a funny surprise to begin with. He, Melville and Hitchcock are my 3 favorites; The Palace of the Spirits and The Mask of the Red Death, still my 2 favorites, after some 40 views each, and last but not least, my number one ever since has been Vincent Price, a treat as an actor and as persona, admirable to the point of envy both on and off the screen.
his old screenwriters would surely agree with the strikes going on in Hollywood nowadays. but if not, they would all skip their snack break today, 12/05/2024, to write "5 more extra pages for Roger". And he'd pay a succint and calid smile to their sly tribute. Thank you for once turning out the wrong job and, instead, going and putting into images yours and many others' dreams. Rest in peace, Mr. Corman.

God bless my mother Natasha Fersen Conn, child of a Tacoma newspaperman and Russian Countess, one of the most fascinating, sweetest people you'd ever have the chance to meet. I hope you're dancing in Heaven or on your way into your next incarnation to give me grief, whatever works. The Peter Jackson treatment coming, the world shall know your greatness too. I love you mom, forever and ever. Amen ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️

Shame on you guys for not including Dennis Thompson. Drummer for the soon to be Rock n Roll Hall of Fame band the MC5. He was the last member of the MC5 and part of band that influenced so many musicians.
