Not to be argumentative….but the statement “better than either” is just baseless. Both Roy & Danny shared the DC area and their unfortunate deaths. Other than that, they were very different. Roy had a jazzier approach, while to me, Danny was more rooted in rock. Both were exceptional, and ANY attempt to classify either as superior would only be attempted by a non musician. They both operated at a level above most people trying to pigeon hole their style & talent. “Putting Jack up there w/Danny & Roy” is more ap-propriate. Their playing is undefined. It’s free flow. Jack IS right up there. His sense of where he is on the instrument at all times makes his improvisation more natural. He can genre jump mid-phrase. The result is so entertaining. So I would expect the JimRay Gilliam expresser of his opinion, not necessarily anyone else’s, to keep it to himself. It’s great to encourage the artist or even the listeners to punch the experience along. But to try to force nonsense on everyone reduces that “influencer” into a total waste of human flesh. 😮
Wow. Blew me away. I don’t know how I clicked on this but I’m SO glad I did. Killer.
Jack is a monster player!!😲
I put Jack up there with Danny Gatton and Roy Buchanan....he is just really that good...
So much better than either!! Maybe the best of our time…
I heard Jack say that Roy Buchanan was his idol....
@@piscator57 I understand. I hear a lot of Buchanan-isims in his playing!!
