You can ask a drummer to play a song like Bonham,or Peart, but ask them to play something like Ringo, and they can't. They just can't. And THAT'S what makes Ringo so great.
Absolutely. Ringo was a genius. Only the ignorant say he was poor as far as I'm concerned. Calling 'A Day In the Life', 'Rain', 'She Said She Said', 'The Word', 'Hello, Goodbye', 'Boys', 'Not a Second Time', 'I Am the Walrus', 'Strawberry Fields Forever', 'Ticket To Ride', 'Come Together', 'Something', 'Cry Baby Cry' and so on and so on anything less than superb is not an opinion I could ever come close to understanding.
People who say that are usually not drummers themselves. It's just an urban myth. Nearly all the top drummers adore Ringo's playing, and he was a pioneer - one of the very first 'rock' drummers.
It always amazes me how much personality Ringo managed to contribute to a song just through his drum-playing. He really is one of a kind and such a great drummer!
cool request....GORDON EDWARDS from the super group of noted session men STUFF played bass on the entire MIND GAMES album...his playing was superb on that album...unfortunately for lennon -- mccartney released BAND ON THE RUN around the same time which was massive, huge in popularity and critical acclaim
could be a reversed drum beat or an edit, they're known for doing reversed instrumentation, and I went and listened to another isolation and it sounds more in time, just like some sort of sound you wouldn't hear from drums.

Ringo has the ability to tease out a richness of sound from his drums. Almost pulling out tones rather than hitting the drums. Lovely stuff.
Who said that Ringo couldn't play? This is a brilliant performance, of a song which most drummers would have great difficulty mastering.

If this isolated track had been available in the 80s, that part would have become a classic hip-hop sample
