    OMG! Love this video. Now I can show people what I have had to do when painting since I'm 60 Y.O. now and didn't have videos back then lol. I keep learning and growing, and your videos are top notch!

    When Chris mentioned "bridging" it gave me a thought. I'd love to see a whole video, or many, covering as much troubleshooting and repairs as you can think of. Sh*t will always happen whether you follow the TDS or not, I'd just love to see a video or series covering all the things that can go wrong and ways to repair them. Thanks again for all the videos

      We're just doing a car or two a year. Painting cars for a living takes a lot, good on you for doing it and definitely enjoy the fishing.

    Great job! It just so happens I'll be spraying my magnum soon . Did you mention how much sealer you used on this job? Do you guys have a guide for estimated amount of material needed for complete paint jobs?

      The volume of materials used is discussed at the end of Part 2 of this video. Thank you.

    Great stuff👍 one question, why not start with the roof so you don’t have to reach over wet panels?

      Hello. Chris’s technique is to continually apply paint with a wet edge. The side panels are worked up to the roof then down the other side, while maintaining a wet edge. This helps minimize dry spray which results in texture. Thank you.

    I always wondered, wouldn't the chalk dust hinder your fine line tape from sticking?

    • @CreatexColors
      @CreatexColors  11 місяців тому

      No when applied lightly over thoroughly cured paint and wiped off with a lint-free tack rag before painting. Please practice on a test panel; before using on an actual job. Thank you.

    About how much paint would I need to do a midsize sport touring motorcycle?

    • @CreatexColors
      @CreatexColors  Рік тому +1

      About 1 quart sprayable of the colors total. Hard to determine exactly, A test panel or two will help you dial-in how much material the paintjob will require. Thank you.

      @@CreatexColors thanks for answering. It's actually the bike in my profile picture. After watching the rest of the video I figured it out. Looking forward to more videos and color combinations.

    Where to buy that high tack roll of paper?

      Many online and retail dealers that sell Createx airbrush paints also have tapes & masking film. We ordered this R-Tape masking film from our local autobody paint & supply dealer. Thanks.

    nice work Chris... I saw a speed shape with Createx Orange Pearl (ua-cam.com/video/F_7rZxfHZBc/v-deo.html) and would to use it as a base coat... The car is final primed in white epoxy primer... So can I use the createx water base coat over the epoxy, let it dry and then clear coat using a solvent based urethane clear... The color on the video was 4315 orange pearl but i can't find it... I see W306 Pearl Orange... Are they the same? Last question, how much paint would i need to do a 61 corvette... Thanks... Mark

    I'm an OG '59 & always used this pounce wheel pattern technique...how ever, prefer 6 mil clear visqueen poly/plastic & sharpie instead of tracing paper & pencil for the sake of speed & durability.
    Nowadays lots of guys are using vinyl patterns from a plotter...where's the art in that?
    Use a Warrensburg pinwheel for pouncing the visqeen, as it has larger spikes & of course thicker cardboard.
    Remember, it's just paint...not rocket science.
    Have fun kids !!
