Aloha all! My name is Alexus and I am a third year PhD student studying Biological Oceanography at University of Hawaii at Mānoa.
In this week's PhD student life vlog, Michi and I (a PhD couple and LGBT Couple in Hawaii) show you a normal weekend in our life in Oahu, Hawai'i as PhD students. This weekend, we did a lot of car vlogging while we were driving around the island of Oahu, mostly to and from Waikiki and Kailua. We eat lots of vegan food and take you to our favorite vegan food places in Honolulu (Sunrise Shack for açaí bowls, QQ Tea House for vegan boba, and Down to Earth for vegan dessert and snacks). Other than eating yummy vegan food, we go grocery shopping (Costco has great vegan options including Aloha Bars!), dog sit (perfect side hustle for a PhD or graduate student), listen to Taylor Swift's Midnights, go sunset surfing at Ala Moana, cat sit, and still manage to get a little bit of our work done.
