Someone walking out on a Catterall interview is not a big deal.
This is all on Tom. If Tom wins his next 15 fights and is the GOAT, everyone will say Jon should have fought him. If Tom loses his next 2 or 3 and falls down the rankings, everyone will be talking about that, and not how Jon never fought him.

Jon knows exactly what he's doing. He is promoting the fight with all of this. You can say what you want but Jones is not scared of anybody. He is the greatest of all time and can pick and choose whenever he has earned that. Keep promoting the fight. I think Bones is inevitable

Jon moved up to Toms division, he was gifted a title fight for a vacated belt against an easy opponent (an opponent who also ducked Tom when Tom travelled to Paris). Tom has monstered his way through most of the top ten in record time. For Jon to say he hasnt achieved enough when Jon himself has only had one fight in the division is comical. 🦆

Only thing I'd say in "defense" of Jones is that he's answered the same question 50 times. Also Jones the pretty much the only person that can call his own fights. In 1 hand, as the consensus "GOAT" he wants fights that will make the most money. Aspinall is his biggest challenge. But people only choose fighters because they want to see Jones lose, rather than see him "challenged". Now he said he'll give up the belt, giving Aspinall the opportunity to fight a "lesser opponent" for the undisputed gold. In that decision, Jones said he wants to fight Alex, which is an even BIGGER name and just as dangerous as Aspinall. I'd understand if Jones just wants to fight a random dude, but he wants to fight the biggest star in the UFC now. Much bigger than Tom, to be honest. I don't think anyone is right or wrong in this discussion. I don't think people are wrong for saying Jones doesn't want to fight Tom. But I also don't think he's scared of him because he wants to fight an even more dangerous guy.

He agreed to the interview and then ducked at the last minute he's lost all credibility he ever had. He used to fight all challengers and beat them at their own game.The truth is Jones isn't a natural heavyweight and has obvious disadvantages at this weight. Jones isn't undefeated, 27-1-1 is his record. His legacy has been tarnished by the PEDs, the out of the cage antics, and even his last 2 fights could have been Ls, I still think Reyes won.

If any fighter is worth choosing who he fights, its Jon, his legacy is always intact. Tom in no example has come with the same excitement as an early Jon Jones, Jon has inspired the next generation including Tom to fight in different ways. Its only about the money for Jon and he feels the UFC and ppv will not be as massive as it would be for the next great fighter Alex and he is right. Tom hasn't done enough ppv's on headline cards to make Jon's $10m plus unless Dana is willing to pay it. Tom's profile is increasing with hanging on to Jon's tail so you never know whats around the corner and Tom will be feeling the pressure when he's standing across the cage from the GOAT.
Hence proving Jon's argument of this being an Aspinall fest...
