Cover the blade in color is acually a way to make it public friendly imo. People will automatically think that you carry a real knife if they see the grey or black color from the blade. However, colored blade give them the illusion that you are having a fidget toy.
This could be a “destructive” coating where it’s anodized purple with white overtop that shows the color underneath as it ages like dual paint relic guitars
do you think you would be able to do a "build your own vulp" kinda thing? like squids made to order option. so people can make the bali they want. the only thing is it would be limited to what can be made and kept in bulk.
I feel like this should be more of a “made to order” type thing for this, but I’d like to see the white, lime green, pink, purple, black, blue, maybe a forest green, and orange.

Idea -> Massive W Color Options -> I would love to see some multi colored options that would otherwise not be possible/cheap on aluminum. Personally I would love to see the all white with black paint spatter similar to what could be done on the LDY Orion as that is probably my favorite "anodization" of all time.

Actually the one color I don’t have is white…but the options are pretty endless with teflon. I think a build your own with all the colors would be sweet but I also understand the difficulties and limitations of that. I’ll buy one regardless!
A cool idea for sure. Definitely opens up some awesome color combos that could add a lot of character for the Vulp. I'm still wondering how durable the coating would be considering the fact that this balisong would be dropped constantly. It kind of reminds me of the BBBarfly OG2 where it has grippy texture but with printed graphics. But those use a Vinyl wrap instead. I would be incredibly on board if you did some simple circular cutouts along the handles to incorporate more grip, save weight, and also call back to the original benchmade series of knives. (I'm a sucker for the circles, what can I say lol). But in all seriousness, its really cool to see the Vulp revisited. Some color ways that I definitely would love to see on the Teflon Vulp are: - Florescent Pink - Neon Orange - Neon Green - Jade Green - Pearlescent White - Black Handles with Red blade (Brandon Edition) - Blue Handles with Orange blade. - Black Handles with Neon Green blade. - Cotton Candy Pink/ Light Blue Handles with a white blade. - Shamrock Green handles and white blade (Irish Edition) - Red/ Blue handles with white blade (USA edition) - Spyro edition (Yellow handles, and light purple blade) I'm still eagerly awaiting a chaplin DLC update to the Vulp as I think the foundation can definitely improve its flipping and overall value to remain relevant in today's flipping market. Dang it Will... the teflon coating is cool and I'm sure it makes the grip better but if you are making a new Vulp variant please can we have a properly upgraded chaplin nook. I've been having fun with the Vulp recently and picking it up a bit more. Wish I had got the non-opener version. I would buy an upgraded Vulp over a Vulp Pro but the chaplin issue. As for a colourway I would like desert camo - maybe you could let people mix and match?
I love my Vulp and Vulp Pro but, I would absolutely adore a solid white Vulp! I'm a sucker for solid white things and you just don't really see that in balisongs nearly as often as you do other colors. Unless you're making a Squiddy, or a G10 scaled balisong. Having something that was aluminum and steel, but solid white, would be killer! I also love the colored light idea where it appears to be a different color based on what color the lighting is.
If the Teflon can be colored any way, I wonder if patterns would be out of the question. I'm not talking about paisley-designed handles or anything super complex, but maybe horizontal stripes, for example? I was almost imagining a Vulp with a silver colored blade, but with light blue and pink striped handles. I think that would be pretty unique to have simple patterned Vulps that show off some kind of individuality. But then again, that would probably be asking a lot as opposed to just having singular colors for the handles and blade.
I've been wanting to get a good looking Purple and Yellow bali for a while (a very special color combo for me) and I'm just imagining how beautiful it would be on this. (So yeah, if you want a color recommendation, I would love to see purple!)

I don't like it. I've been flipping my vulp for over a year now and compared to my other knives the grip is still pretty bad, even after taking some beating. I think the etching really helps. Maybe some additional etching on the bottom-outer parts of the handles would be better, because I notice it tends to slip further down than it does up where the etching is most prominent. But I cannot think of teflon coating without thinking on non-stick cookware (maybe that's just because I'm a cook) and that's just corny to me.

This is just on the Vulp, not the Vulp Pro. The standard Vulp doesn't have G10

isn't teflon a toxic chemical? Its a PFAS which gives you many health problems if ingested.
