Braña en Saliencia.

Un paseo por una braña en Saliencia, cerca de los lagos, a los que no pudimos llegar por la nieve. Además del incomparable paisaje, pudimos contemplar los teitos, esa casi extinguida arquitectura popular multiuso de la que hoy en día solo quedan cabañas y que hunde sus raíces en el Neolítico. El teito puede tener planta rectangular o redonda, sus paredes son de piedra y su tejado es de madera con cubierta vegetal a base de escoba que puede llegar al medio metro de espesor. Llama la atención el remate de la cumbrera del tejado realizada con gabitos, esos palos que se hincan inclinados en la paja para que el agua no incida en vertical.

A walk through a meadow in Saliencia, near the lakes, which we couldn't reach because of the snow. In addition to the incomparable landscape, we were able to contemplate the teitos, that almost extinct popular multi-purpose architecture of which today only cabins remain and which has its roots in the Neolithic. The teito can have a rectangular or round plan, its walls are made of stone and its roof is made of wood with a broom-based plant cover that can reach half a meter thick. The top of the roof ridge made with gabitos is striking, those sticks that are driven into the straw at an angle so that the water does not fall vertically.
