Watched all your vids now. Great stuff. Always wanted to see something like this, trying different parts, cams, carbs etc. with back to back tests to see actual differences. I wish I had a dyno. Fascinating.
I love the pinto engines back in my day I turbo charge one of the early ones and I spent the next two years replacing transmissions. What an engine.😊😊😊😊😊😊
thats not a clutch, its a drive plate, its only for driving dyno, the springs are there to protect the engine/crankshaft, when the dyno shuts the engine down it puts maximum braking load on the engine, the sudden torque reversal has been known to snap crankshafts! Bike carb video coming soon, i did the bike carb test for a magazine so i have to sit on results for a while before i can turn into a video
@@PenguinMotors Sorry, I mistranslated... I believed the springs were to create a tolerance for misalignment between the flywheel and gearbox(which is desirable in a street car... but creates judder and loss of efficiency).
@@21camaleonte in fact the springs in a clutch are nothing to do with misalignment, they are a damper and allow the smooth engagement of the clutch. remove the springs and the clutch becomes an on off switch. they also act as a torsional damper.
Hi - Thanks for the excellent info and guidance - I have built a 2.0 Pinto with a FR32 285' Kent cam, cleaned up the head and valves and will be running 45mm throttle bodies running 310mm injectors which I will be installing into my escort MK1 - do you have any recommendations on what diameter exhaust system would be the best fit as well as well as if I should install the round or oval type silencer boxes? I would like the car to be a reliable retro sleeper :) Massive thanks and keep up the good work!

Awesome, thank you!
Love you work and your vids. Wish you were in Australia to do a build for me. Keep up the great work.

There's no reason to use springs in a race clutch... Always a good job... still anxious for the bike carb video ?

That was about the first thing he told us, were you watching with the sound off?

2 inch bore is teh size to go for, round or oval silencers wont make any difference
Quick question, which makes more power between carbs and electronic injections.
assuming they are sized correctly in terms of peak power theres practically nothing in it
Hola. Hay mucha diferencia de potencia y par motor entre los carburadores 40 idf a los 40 dcoe ? Gracias
It wont be a big difference but 40 dcoe will give more power
Great stuff!
the Emerald P5 is a copy of a Holbay 4011F not a 665, I should know as it was my 4011F that Dave Walker loaned to Newman to copy Roland, HT Racing Ltd
Are the standard head bolts expansion bolts?
late torx type yes, early spline ones no
@@PenguinMotors So you use the non expansion bolts that can be reused. Thanks for your answer.
@@RallyeRacin9 yes
