The missions are very special to San Antonio and unique. My father and mother used to take me on Saturday’s with my brother and sister and make it an all day long event. This was back in 80’81. Special times and magical place.
Lol I completely understand although I do use paper maps a lot it is a very different experience now. I look back whenever I was in high school and first starting to drive and you would have to print out a map and directions from yahoo and now it is so different and I feel as though it is both positive and negative lol
thank you and ai am glad you enjoyed it!! Texas has a lot to unpack so I have a few videos which do a bit of that... I have one in particular that will be coming out soon that you might enjoy...
Each mission is slightly different and you could spend anywhere between 15 minutes and an hour I would think on each. Driving between each takes a little time depending on the day of the week thanks to traffic also so you could easily make this a couple hours all the way up to a full day. I deep dive into sites so I typically spend much more time at each between filming and researching for my own weird want for knowledge...lol
I find it to be two fold... it is historic which is interesting... and if you really read about the history they were much more than churches... so even if not christian it kinda is interesting to see....

What a wonderful memory!!!
I don't even know how to get to the store anymore without using my phone lol. So awesome to see how people lived and functioned in the old day.

The missions are beautiful, especially during spring
I can only imagine when the landscaping is in perfect order it is amazing
beautiful places!
They are!
Thanks for this beautiful and informative video 🌹
My pleasure 😊
Very informative, I do not personally know much about Texas history at all so a glimpse into these missions is a nice digestible taste.

Really good tour of the missions. I have visited a few missions in New Mexico and Arizona.
That is something I would love to do out there. I have not as of yet. Any suggestions for which would be the best to visit?
This is something unique to the southern states. Not many of these old missions left
I agree.. there are so many unique things out there but fewer and fewer of these kinda places to see
@@BunnyPlaysHere Have you seen some of the missions in New Mexico?
This would be a great place to do photos
Absolutely, when we were there some students were about to shoot their senior photos
How long did it took you to visit them? Approximately how many hours?

I did that once a few years ago. As someone who isn’t a Christian, it was kind of weird for me.

im not catholic so services there don't make much sense.. but I really appreciate the old Spanish influences in the architecture
Yes! I did also go for the history and the fact that they are a UN World Heritage Site. No Alamo, though?
Yeah you messed up, you’re supposed to save San Jose for last😂😂😂
