Crowley's face after Sam says that he's the last trial, that look of dawning realization... fantastic. There's a reason Mark Sheppard is one of my favorite actors.
Your reaction to Sam and Dean’s big emotional moment, especially Sam telling Dean that his greatest sin was how many times he let Dean down, yeah, that reaction was about the same one that I had, Jess. That scene gets you bad.
One of my favourite finales of the series forsure because of Jared and Jensen at the end basically declaring their love for each other, so amazing. Jared Padalecki (Sam) was going through a really hard time at the same time this was filmed, he went through a depression and had major suicide idealizations and to see him play Sam so defeated, made me even more emotional watching it!
Yes, the end scene was so well acted and amazing to watch. Sam's "so?" was heartbreaking. Especially since he was the one saw light at the end of the tunnel and wanted to live, in ep 8.14. Sam telling what he confessed was so raw and painful. And then Dean's powerful and moving declaration, that there's no one he'd put in front of Sam! The beautiful brother hug, and then poor Sammy collapsing! The visuals of the angels falling was stunning.
What an almighty finale. Boy did season 8 get better as it went along. Enter Metatron as true villain -- but one of the best of the whole series. And also Crowley in his darkest but also most interesting vein. Such a fantastic episode. Top 5 of the series.
The season 8 finale is definitely the one that I remember the most from when I first watched Supernatural, possibly my favourite of the whole show. The visuals (and everything else really) are stunning
i cant believe youve already made it thru 8 seasons! seems like just yesterday you started season 1. I knew immediately that you would be a big fan of the show. You’ve been asking all the right questions from day 1 & I’m excited to watch you continue your SPN journey
The first half of this season and the wedge between them is always painful, and I honestly hated the first half of season 8 when I first watched it, but I absolutely loved this finale, so now watching season 8 is one of my favorites because I know the pain has a great payoff
That final scene with Sam and Dean at the church. It's 1 of my favorites out of the series. That scene reminds me of when spike is telling buffy that he now has a soul. Sam always felt different because he was. A beautiful scene though
From a straight visual standpoint I still think the "Angels Falling" is the best thing they did in this entire series. That whole sequence was jaw dropping first time I saw it.
Back in the day, my spouse got into SPN around s7. I got dragged in by s3. S8 was the first season we happened to watch live. Lucky us, it was one of the most breathtaking finales since s5. Changed EVERYTHING for all the characters. Abaddon getting hell while Crowley was nearly mortal. Castiel mortal. No angels left in heaven, Sam on his deathbed (but not dead!). Absolutely spectacular acting. I still remember me and my college buddies crowded into 1 room in front of a lil TV watching it live. 😂 I think we were playing cards against humanity at the time. Golly how time flies.
El mejor final de temporada fue cuando caen los angeles... los efectos, el ángulo, la imagen, el sonido, el tono y la emoción, lo hace simplemente perfecto ❤
The hair and dress look fabulous in this reaction. My goodness. The perfect outfit to wear when freaking out about needles! Remember what you said at the end of the Key to Time season-long arc in Classic Who? That's kind of how I felt with this season finale. It seemed like we spent all this time teasing the trials only for them not to pay it off in the end. I'm watching along with you, so I haven't seen any of season 9 yet, but it seems like the status quo is the same; we already had angels and demons on Earth, so nothing is different. They teased getting rid of both and in the end, got rid of neither. I also don't like that they seem to be dusting off a whole lot of brother-drama just for the sake of it, when it seemed like they were arguing a lot less only a season ago (Sam's demon blood came up a couple of episodes ago and that hasn't been relevant in YEARS at this point).
It's a huge disappointment, but honestly, it's closer to reality... The heroes don't always win and many sacrifices are in vain. Like in war many deaths are due to friendly fire, enraging in its senselessness but it's an accident we can't do anything about
I'm kind of confused on how the angels are like these small human shaped asteroids of tangible light but Castiel has described angels as being celestial balls of light as big as the Chrysler center
one of my favorite episodes. but every time it hurts me to watch how dying Sam fights Crowley and Abaddon alone, while Dean and Cas sit at the bar drinking beer. and considering the loss of the soul to be Sam's sin seems unfair to me. he bent Lucifer into a cage saving the world, and it’s not his fault that he was pulled out of there without a soul
@@la_beatricethat’s my thought exactly, I just finished the show a few days ago and I got through most of it thinking that I hated Dean, but I eventually realized that I just hate the way the writers treat Sam. While Dean does some crappy stuff to Sam, I feel like most of what I got so mad at was mainly just the writing. 😭
I have mixed feelings about this finale. It's by far the best acted finale with the best effects and is beyond emotional! But there are 2 things that leave me feeling a bit torn and one big thing that spoils it for me. First we spent all season building up to the sealing of the gates of hell only for the writers to pull the rug from under us like this and have the brother's unintentionally setup the seasons next big bads Metatron and Abaddon. This is damped by the great acting this episode and because technically we didn't start with sealing the gates till episode 14 had the trials been at the start of the season more people would be pissed by this. The second thing is I didn't like how Sam threw shade at Benny and Cas, especially Benny, but that said I do understand that it was necessary to show how insecurity Sam is and how much codependent he is on Dean just as Dean is very codependent on Sam. Those two things are mostly just pet peeves, but the real thing that sours this episode for me I can't get into because it's spoilers for season 9. But yeah I enjoy this episode just as long as I don't think about the next season
"So?" Exactly! So what if Sam dies? They're shutting the gates of hell forever and locking every demon behind it. That's a much better deal than Sam got in the end of season 5, the show's original ending. Ignore the angels falling, the melodrama, the sappy writing of how Dean somehow can't survive without his brother like they are soul mates or something. This would have been a good end to the show before it treads into what would lead to some really stupid territory that needs to be constantly one upped. This was the only finale where the brothers straight up failed and gave up and it was for the stupidest reason. Sam was ready to sacrifice himself to not feel like a let down rather than it was just worth the sacrifice? Give me a break, CW!
A really expertly acted episode wasted on a stupid contrivance and basically setup what i call the "one up" era where the writers have to constantly raise the stakes to make-up for all the stupid contrivances they throw at the viewer. At this point, this is where i turn my brain off and watch the show for jensen, jared and misha. Not because the story is particularly good. The story ended in season 5, now? Now we're watching the sam and dean show with cas's feather ass as a third wheel. Strap in, because we're headed to some very stupid territory.
It doesn’t happen often but when those two boys actually express their feelings it is always emotional. Jared and Jensen are both fantastic actors.
This finale really floored me the first time I saw it. The visual of the angels falling was so shocking.
nothing in all 15 Seasons haunts me so much as Dean saying: "Angels. They're falling" That was a Kick.
Haunting. Amazing. Chilling. Beautiful. Terrifying. Ain't enough descriptive words in the dictionary.
Crowley's face after Sam says that he's the last trial, that look of dawning realization... fantastic. There's a reason Mark Sheppard is one of my favorite actors.
That sight of the Angels falling is hauntingly beautiful and so terrifying
Your reaction to Sam and Dean’s big emotional moment, especially Sam telling Dean that his greatest sin was how many times he let Dean down, yeah, that reaction was about the same one that I had, Jess. That scene gets you bad.
Stunning finale. The image of the angels falling and the feeling of simultaneous shock and awe and dread that creates will never leave me.

Mark Sheppard's acting in this finale is absolutely phenomenal. The first time i seen this episode i teared up several times

The angels falling scene gives me goosebumps every single time.
Definitely in the top 5 finales. Acting, writing and direction flawless.
One of the best finals!!
Your face when dean tells crowley on what grounds he wants the angel tablet😂😂

This, Swan Song, and the season 15 ones are what I remember most. Oh and when Dean was dragged to hell
i cant believe youve already made it thru 8 seasons! seems like just yesterday you started season 1. I knew immediately that you would be a big fan of the show. You’ve been asking all the right questions from day 1 & I’m excited to watch you continue your SPN journey
nothing has ever hit me the way watching the angels falling has. it's just a crazy visual and to see one hit water really pushes it home.
The first half of this season and the wedge between them is always painful, and I honestly hated the first half of season 8 when I first watched it, but I absolutely loved this finale, so now watching season 8 is one of my favorites because I know the pain has a great payoff
one of my favorite, emotional season finale of the show watching with you is even more emotional 🥺
Sometimes I still get impressed with myself and my ability to have memorized Dean’s speech to Sam in those last few minutes…
Just like how Dean memorized that one speech from a movie in the LARPing episode so you're in good company 😂
That final scene with Sam and Dean at the church. It's 1 of my favorites out of the series. That scene reminds me of when spike is telling buffy that he now has a soul. Sam always felt different because he was. A beautiful scene though

IMO, the best episode in the entire show. If nothing else, at least my favourite. The acting is unbelievable.
You go girl! You got great instincts, thinking not to trust Metatron
Yeah his good deeds seemed performative to gain trust. You can just tell there's a calculative coldness to him
Supernatural hits you right in the heart some times
Back in the day, my spouse got into SPN around s7. I got dragged in by s3. S8 was the first season we happened to watch live. Lucky us, it was one of the most breathtaking finales since s5. Changed EVERYTHING for all the characters. Abaddon getting hell while Crowley was nearly mortal. Castiel mortal. No angels left in heaven, Sam on his deathbed (but not dead!). Amazing episode, visually stunning and terrifying. Great music

This is one of the best finales of the whole show. I really love the scenes with Sam and Dean in the church, the acting was next level.
Congrats on 100k subs, that is amazing, and it has been great watching your journey
I'm kind of confused on how the angels are like these small human shaped asteroids of tangible light but Castiel has described angels as being celestial balls of light as big as the Chrysler center

Agree. Sometimes it doesn't seem like it's just Dean that's too hard on Sam, but the show's writing in general.
@@la_beatricethat’s my thought exactly, I just finished the show a few days ago and I got through most of it thinking that I hated Dean, but I eventually realized that I just hate the way the writers treat Sam. J2 knocked it out of the park in the church scene. Every time I watch it I get emotional.
Ohhhhhhh yea!! i forgot it was weeeennnnsssdayyyyyy!!!!!
One of my favorite episode. (Why’re there comments showing to be 4 weeks ago??
Poorly sammy
Who would of thought a guy called Meagtron is bad?
You finally made it here :)
“Absolutely not” was my thought too
Props to you for considering the bartender might not be straight
8х23 and still awesome!

Season 8 is probably my least favorite because I found most of it pretty boring, but the ending is great! Enjoy your vacation!

Sam and Dean are soulmates...it's actual cannon in the show.
