$88,000 for a truck with cloth seats is insanity
People were all happy for a 60k landcruiser base with cloth. I paid 45k for a 4runner limited that look better than those 2025 land cruiser.
Cloth seats were a luxury in the 1930s while leather was for peasants … 😂😂
Just get rid of dealers and let me just buy the car directly from the maker.
@@hoapres Unfortunately the automakers have contracts with those dealers and now they can't legally bypass them.
It's the reason Tesla can sell directly because they never contracted dealers to sell for them.
@@brucey5585 You should never compare a Toyota truck to a Chrysler unreliable forever product.
The title of this video was so refreshing. I’m glad SUV sales are tanking!
Cheers
Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares took home $39 million dollars. 🔥 🌎 🔥
39M to go to restaurants with clients, do a few speeches, take a private jet around the world.
Unfortunately, he didn’t deserve the money, the company has a lot of problems, and now the future is uncertain. Obviously, he is way overpaid!
You have to understand that if stellantis goes bankrupt the US government will give them money. They can also file for bankruptcy, while the ceo will not loose a single cent.
@@brucey5585 Not USA Govt money it's ALL TAXPAYER MONEY = taxpayers get skrewed yet again ...
Wasn’t worth the money was he! Just like the products.
Ram &Jeep are screwed.
They’re all screwed.. you how much it costs to insure these 90k trucks?? Especially after everyone’s policies have risen In the last year..
Well that depends…If someone cures the rectal-cranial immersion problem at Stellantis, then they might try repricing the product line at a much lower price point as they should’ve been in the first place. I suspect they jacked the prices to show greater value than they were actually worth. Otherwise you’re absolutely correct; they’re screwed. Thanks
@@toddprater14 And the registration fees at that price level is sky high
Don't worry. The decimal point in the MSRP will be moving over a few digits to the left shortly. 2025 will be the last year of production. Swan song plays in the background. Cheers.
It's not just the prices, it's also the fact that these vehicles are unreliable. Who wants to pay 70k for a vehicle that has major break downs well before 50k??
That makes it a double whammy!
Triple the price for still unreliable junk that you will have to come out of pocket to fix while losing time at work or doing business or just relaxing.
What a loss of time.
You could just go to a reliable brand and spend the time you would've been fixing the vehicle at the beach relaxing.
Best car I’ve ever owned was a 2016 Ram 1500. Sold it in 2021 because it didn’t fit in my garage. I miss that truck.
That absolutely shouldn’t happen in this day and age. Twenty years ago this kind of unreliability would be big news. Now it’s almost a secret and consumers are getting the unhappy surprise. Car and Driver and Consumer Reports will cure that
@@user-tz4bt5bt6xand which brand would that be, exactly? Seems to me that nobody has a line of vehicles without at least one line having a fatal error anymore. So I reiterate, what brand?
@@markvincent5992 You're correct in stating that every car manufacturer has made manufacturing mistakes.
Some are quick to correct those flaws.
When I went shopping for a new vehicle I went away from Chevy and Ford which I've owned for decades and bought a Toyota.
The Toyota hasn't had a single breakdown yet.
I tried for months to buy a truck.
Glad I opted not to.
same
I can afford it ,but not paying these prices or interest rates!!!
And many people also feel that way
If you’re retired you cannot afford it unless you just don’t care about going into debt.
This is rich lol. Dealers are “suffering”? Tell them to eff off with the dealer markups. They had no problems screwing us for a few years and now they have bled everyone dry. Life sucks. They can sit on them until they are bled dry for a while.
They should have been saving up for a rainy day ripping people off overcharging their customers during the pandemic
@@larryivey8118 nah…. Too busy taking vacations at other people’s expense
They will get bailouts.
@@shanenice5380 they will likely get bailouts on their EV stock which they will of course try to keep rather than pass it on to consumers
The talent it takes to somehow turn 30 seconds of info into hours of videos a week is awe inspiring
Maybe the Stellantis CEO needs to get a job at Target. I think automobiles are way above his abilities.
I wouldn't want them as the night manager at a McDonald's.
The Bankruptcy auctions should be interesting.
Guaranteed
Jeeps are garbage nowadays...
Generally yes but at least if it was priced in alignment with that then it would somehow feel Ok, but it’s not
At 10:19 you said something so real I remember I had a friend who bought a Jeep working at a restaurant times are screwed now
Hey Keynotes, you’re actually correct.
If I'm paying another mortgage I want at least 2 bedrooms and a bath.
Exactly
I bought my house 13 years ago for 125,000 now if I wanna buy a truck, I have to pay that much forget about it
I think all these car manufacturers are scheming to keep prices high. They’re all doing it. Trucks for $100k? You would think some state AG would be looking into this 😳😳👍
I agree! They hope to create this new norm and eventually people will buy regardless of affordability.
Your 2003 Ram gives you cred that money can't buy. You obviously walk the walk, and not just talk the talk. Bravo. I have two paid for cars, a 06 and a 16. I will drive them till the wheels fall off.
Thank you so much. I really appreciate that. Gotta keep it real indeed.
I don’t feel one bit sorry for the George the electrician, He could’ve purchased a vehicle around 30,000 and he still would’ve had his vehicle
I’m sure he made it up for views and clickbait news.” If the man wife got sick they both had insurance and if not there’s always “Obama Care..” 😊
I literally came down to comment this. 100% agree
Yea a jeep isn't a practical car, it's a toy
Nice. Maybe when you lose your job and your wife or child needs expensive care people will say the same thing to you.
A difference exists between needing a car and buying a new wrangler.
More of the "great reset"?
true...you will be happy owning...NOTHING
I don't see why you would want a wrangler even if you could afford it.
They are a hollow steel box on wheels and sound like it.
The most uncomfortable thing to ride in you could buy.
I would put them in the same category as side by sides.
The ride is so bad you almost feel like you should be wearing a helmet.
Haha yes I agree and should not be more than 20 grand
A Jeep Wrangler rides one step above a covered wagon pulled by a team of horses. I warn anyone that wants one because they are cool to go test drive it. You will need ear plugs and and wear your seat belt to remain in the seat.
That is why I always tell people, if you want a jeep go buy an older one. Take the top off, vinyl seats, bed liner floor, large off road tires with steel wheels. Run it free and wild. Under 10k and you can get that jeep experience out of your system.
If your looking for luxury, just buy a minivan and stop pretending to be something your not.
What about how over priced the parts they sell are not even in the ball park. I have a 2007 3500 Cummins I was told from the deal a transmission would cost me 18000 and 7500 for transfer case. Absolutely maddening
These car channels say the same thing, like 10 times over to fill a 15 minute video......
And everyday the exact same video. Terrible.
where there is crisis , there it profit my friend
It’s all blah blah blah.
Same thumb nail with no new information every video every day
Yeah maybe...but he brings a lot to the table....and every video has its info eggs... I know that they are not spraying the sky in Edmonton today...and they have good tree health currently...Knowledge is power buddy
Greed kills faster than speed.
The only people that claim they can't afford to eat are the ones thay buy door dash for every single meal and never cook.
Food is cheap, you just need to buy and cook it yourself.
I cooked at home.its cheaper and eat out ones a while
I'm holding back on a new car until 2025 to give them some time to mark down a 2024 for 45% off
But the new electric 500 will save us all LOL
These stealerships are crazy 🤪 and the people who do buy their vehicles are just as crazy 🤪
they think the are competing with land rover.
Haha they think they are, maybe only in terms of reliability but not luxury details
@@markholubetz jeep and land rover reliable? after the warrenty is up on either, better get a Home Equity line of credit to fix these junky cars.
Those $50hr UAW contracts have to be paid by someone and that'd be you the consumer.
That’s about the bottom line
$250k with pay and benefits added up… per year. Great job UAW!!
Short and informative...Thanks!!
I have a 2022 Rubicon I built exactly like a 2024 Rubicon X.
Mine cost 80k tax included.
Now the same is 100k ?
WTF. ??
BUT now they are offering 5k off as usual LOL
GOOD LUCK SELLING on a vehicle that costs under 25k to build.
Pathetic
Exactly, what’s wrong with this world and more importantly, these dealers?
You are speaking the truth & we appreciate it
Thank you
Ram made a huge mistake by eliminating the regular cab and extra cab and building all crew cabs. (Don't know if you can even order one anymore). The standard 8 foot box and a reg cab or extra cab would have gone a long way for the work truck market. Unless you're running a crew truck or family truck the crew and mega cab was cool, but a waste.
ppl who do real work just get a sprinter or transit
@@JogBirdyeah, no.
Consumers must pay the St-ATLANTIS CEO a 30 million pay bonus. It's got to come from somewhere /sarcasm.
It’s funny cause if someone does have 70-75000 for a truck they’d probably just get a trx not a classic or a bighorn
nice
Man, i picked up my jeep wrangler rubicon in 2019. It had 13 miles on it, it was an old mans who ended up never driving it. After everything, it was 28,000. Its a 2015. I thought THAT was ridiculous. Im so glad I grabbed one because the prices on all vehicles is insanity. Like wtf.
It’s gone nuts ever since back end of 2020
A years inventory on the lots. They don't need any employees until the inventories are sold off.
Took my Raptor yesterday for a oil change. My buddy there told me that they are hitting all their sales goals except for the Jeep side. Depends on what dealer you go to for how well they are doing. But he did say they are discounting all the makes and models.
Tax payers will bail them out but who will bailout the tax payers?
@tech29X
Not this time. They are a foreign owned company and I doubt the Italian government will bail them out, they have their own money problems. CDJR is going to disappear like a fart in the wind.
@tech29X
I don't think so, not this time as they are a foreign owned company. I think CDJR might just disappear this time like a fart in the wind.
Just bought a nice 2010 car for under 5000 runs perfect good for another 10 years. They can keep payments
High interest rates, high cost of living, UAW contracts, it all adds up. Buying a new car for many now is now a luxury. Buying a vehicle that is not super reliable, is a tough sell.
An amazing analysis of the current auto market situation Mark! The CEO of Stellantis, Carlos definitely needs a wake-up call with regards to making Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/Ram luxury vehicle’s! They aren’t, and never will be!
2 weeks ago I purchased a 2024 Honda.trail sport, wife loves it and MSRP was 45k before couldn’t be happier
Get the Sylvania Headlight Restoration Kit and do what is needed to satisfy warranty requirements. It lasts about two years for me.
supply is charging too much for demand to afford. How does this play out?
Cornwall for the vendor
Yes, and greed was the accelerant.
true
They are phasing out V8s and going to these tiny engines with a twin tutbo that are troublesome, won't last long and are expensive to repair. The rigs don't get much better MPG than the V8 and will likely fail before they are halfway to being paid off. Sounds like a recipe for disaster.
I hope this continues for at least another year as I am in the market for a brand new jeep wrangler Rubicon next to door with a 35 inch tires from the factory
I inquired with a couple dealerships to find a Ram truck for work, they are still asking $8000 over the sticker price 😂 then follow up with the multiple phone calls and emails asking when I'll be coming by to look at the trucks. 🤦♂️
2020 wrangler. Extended warranty thank god. Wanted a truck but these prices are freaking bs.
That RAM Tradesman price of $88,000 is absolutely ridiculous. Exactly which small business owners/tradespersons can possibly afford these ‘Stripped’ (save the Cummins power plant) work trucks. Thanks for the video.
During the pandemic and supply chain issues, manufacturers decided that they wanted to get in on dealer markups. They are now reluctant to return to closer to normal prices - and it’s biting them big time.
at those prices 85% of america/canada believes they can set there till the tires rot away from the rims.as long as were NOT the idiots paying interest on them.thats fine.maybe you can start documenting the tires begining to crack & rot on your many future visits.then release a video of the time lapse.at those prices & if people use their brains.the trucks will still be there long enough to make a full length documentary.
Dodge and Jeep are bad purchases at any price. Unless you enjoy noisy, cheaply made rattlecans. They do look good but it’s lipstick on a pig. Yeah, I was dumb and have owned several of them. Never again.
I went and looked at a 2 door Jeep Rubicon, in a manual the other day, it was almost 80k. Let em sit at these prices.
Stellantis / Dodge needs to come out with another k-car that people can afford, maybe make it a K-wagon SUV or a K- truck, bare bones 2wd pick up.
My experience with CJDR in the South. 23 Grand Cherokee Overland, sitting on lot for 260 days, MSRP $74k, “internet price” $59k but then no one qualifies for this magical $59k number because the rebates don’t exist. LET THEM BLEED. DO NOT BUY.
Blame the UAW…. Average auto worker pay/comp plan starting at $250k…. What the did anyone think was gonna happen??
wow thats crazy. Really?
Not sure about those figures but even if true stellantis had a 20 billion profit in 2023 so much money that it offered stock buybacks so much money that their board agreed to pay the ceo Tavares $38.75 million !! Don’t blame the workers for wanting a piece of the pie !! The prices are high on the vehicles because you’ll pay and they know it !!
Cool. Great News..Serves this company right. I thought their new vehicles were made like crap anyway.
That's a lot of unsold stock that eventually needs to go somewhere.
I doubt they will fire sale these to us and a number of them will end up sold overseas on the cheap to Saudi Arabia or the UAE.
We don't deserve these vehicles in the manufacturers eyes.
That’s an interesting thought for sure. Many people can’t afford these new expensive vehicles
I was about to say here in the USA it’s not that expensive for those vehicles. But they are still expensive but glad that we don’t have to pay Canada prices
Why hasn't somebody did a video on this yet? SMH these prices are out of control
We just started down the slope, hold on baby it's gonna be rough. But good for me
Are those prices on the windows in Canadian dollars or US?
At least you can get free recall notices with this trash.
Yes lok
$114,000 Chrysler? What’s next $275 for a pair of Walmart jeans.
Really quite sad
At my local GM dealer today, the salesman that I was working with back in Dec. to purchase a new 1500 Silverado ($64 +) stopped me and told me there are big discounts available. I'm a gm hourly employee, told him I'm not seeing any rebates offered by gm, he said they are dealer. Told him I would look on the dealer web site, there is a $2,500 on new trucks. I think there is bigger trouble coming, I'll stay on the fence.
This is what the ecomony looks like when global investors are backing companies operations. They get their profits whether the auto dealers sell the vehicles or not.
The Toyota turbo engine recalls might be giving Ram and Jeep another chance soon.
The old saying it is not wht you make it is wht you can keep because Bills do not stop
I don't have any problem driving a older model car , and in this economy it would make sense. or light weight truck.
Yes indeed
$88K for a work truck that should cost $35K tops is insane.
The worst part is Dodge, Ram, Jeep are mostly unreliable junk. Not even worth the $35K.
These manufacturers are so over the top… I was excited to get a truck for work the company would expense a good chunk for it but now I’ll just keep the company truck. I’m not paying a house payment for an upgrade!
I never own that brand and will never I bought my 18 platinum f150 5.0 fx4 fully loaded for 60k massaging seats
Dodge Jeep Ram died 2023
You are saying the truth! Stellantis is not going to roll back the Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4xe to fully loaded to $50,000 where it had to be ( Greed CEO & now at $68,700 they out did them self! Waiting for the government Tax payer $$$ to be saved!
Let all of them go under We already got good cars in the 90s - early 2000s cars nowdays are tablets w/ wheels lol
If you want a jeep wrangler buy used and get it out of your system. When it comes to the wrangler the older, not so perfect, are the ones that personify what a jeep is all about. take the top off... bedliner the inside.... flat black rims..... and just run her free and wild. You can get good used older ones, that have that true jeep spirit, under 10k all day long. If your after AC, heated seats, shiny rims, 10 USB ports...... just buy a minivan it will be better for you in every way.
Hope the UAW, these manufacturers and most importantly, the stealerships are standing in the unemployment line soon.
Did you say a Jeep sport S for $66,000?
I think it's a hoot that the commercials on this video are car commercials😅 cars that I could never afford to buy😂 Gnar to buy
Manufacturers need to take a step back and realize that not all consumers want, or can afford a vehicle that is full of computers and fancy options. Go back to the basics of rubber floor mats, hand crank windows, etc., but include Bluetooth and air conditioning. I think you’d be surprised at how many people would buy a functional vehicle for a reasonable price.
Totally true, some of us want a low spec vehicle with good engines and an affordable price
Hey Mark, look at the Toyota dealers etc
Lets go get 100$ worth of groceries in 110,000 dollar truck, does that make sense?
Not to me but I guess it’s their money. There are simpler ways to accomplish that though
Folks I'm telling you its not just Tavares. There is so much that I could tell you about what happens on the floor, you would never buy not just a Stellantis product, but any UAW built product. This is the most backwards a$$ industry I have ever worked in. I'm actively seeking employment outside of the automotive sector. A lot of the people I work with remind me of kids I played football with who woupd never come to practice, then wonder why they didn't get to play. It's been a $hit show even before the French took over.
Bingo
I’m not sorry that the greedy assembly line employees are on the street. So damn greedy now they can enjoy the unemployment line.
Why are you buying a the Jeep Wrangler if you initially cannot afford where there are surely many more options out there. I guess impulse buying.
I suppose so
I think they’re just throwing numbers at a wall and coming up with these prices
It almost seems that way
People know that they are way overpriced and unreliable!
In WW2, Italy got defeated by Americans driving JEEPS. If I was Italian and owned Jeep today, I would want to destroy the brand too. It is by design- not accident.
So $18,500 off a Ram pickup. Ok that’s nice. But what if they go out of business? That’s a $65,000 truck without a warranty.
They wouldn’t dissolve the auto brand, just sell it off to another parent company which has happened to Chrysler numerous times in the past
Odd situation
Junk on wheels!!!!!
yes it is
You need a crew cab to pickup groceries?
They force you to buy a crew cab because the bastards don't give you any options.
88k for a ram1500😂😂😂😂!!!!!!!
Oh they money grabbing as much as they can before the big hit happens.. it's coming
It really is due
Here in CA they Got Brand New 2023 Jeeps and RAM Trucks for sale, there is plenty here, Nobody wants that kind of price for a Junk Brand
Consumers are not going to look at them even. People know how bad their product are. Hehehe
Stellantis is one of the most profitable companies worldwide. Part of the reason they're ruthless negotiators, famous for grinding their suppliers..
As far as trucks go.. the cities are full of people driving way more vehicle than they should. Their beds are rarely used. This is why we are sitting on a global climate crisis.
$66,000 for a $25,000 jeep ⁉️
OUTRAGEOUS ❗
5yrs ago a wrangler S could be had brand new for 35k
Yes this is simply out of control
