Emily was like angel was sent to watch over Claīre.
Dr. Carlson must knew Claire and the money she had. He was the first Doctor to attend to Claire when she had the accident. It was fortunate the nurse Emily was thorough in her caring of Claire that she saw something not add up. He told her husband and second doctor who they team up together to investigate Dr. Carlson that landed him in prison. The part of the story that confuse me how Carlson involved with Mrs. Thomson and how he get hold of her money.
Clare has 2 daugthers. So daugher(s) and/or son(s)-in-law may have bribed Dr Carlson to murder her/his/their mother/mother-in-law to get hold of her money/inheritance.
Who was paying Dr. Carlson to keep Claire in a vegetative state, and what is the nature of their relationship? I'm not sure I understand.
The nurse is smart, observing, and determined to find out he truth . But she's quite naive. If the criminal is a brutal , snake like personality, she'll be in danger

The music is very annoying and distracting
Who had access to Claire Thompson's financial accts? SOMEbody waa writing those checks to Dr. Carlson.
Why didn't her kids visit? When did they fix her medications? ...and who was the young guy in the final panel?
Until they find out who was writing the checks (and do the forensics on the car), it's not over, and Claire isn't safe. Carlson alluded to other involvement when he said she was "going to ruin everything!"
