This is a relief. I've missed the way CocoRosie used to make me feel. This sounds both familiar and like something completely new.

This caught me off guard recently. See, a decade ago, I would sit in my best friend's kitchen and we'd listen to Grey Oceans, specifically the title track and "Here I Come". Hearing this reminded me of that final line at the end of Grey Oceans... "Watch out, here I come."
This feels like the ending theme to all the years that passed after that until the alcohol finally took him in August 2018. I had lost my job and my apartment and was slowly losing the rest of my possessions one month before he died. I still haven't fully reconciled the Aloha Friday selfie he took the day before he passed, or that his voice sounds as it always has in the videos on his Facebook page, or the ending months of 2018.
This song is really needed now. I'm no longer living where I'm from, no longer able to connect with the person who kept that alive when I had to leave before. All of this change has been a flowerless grave built too shallow. And I need to accept the arduous work of exhuming the things in this grave so I can bury them properly.

I finally found the words for something ive been trying to say for years, your alls music has a way of making me feel like its ok to be sad, like just accepting im gonna be sad sometimes nobody's ALWAYS happy, but thats okay and incan still learn to smile through it 😊.
