One of the biggest challenge with the SOLID project and SSI projects generally is monetisation .. are there any groups discussing that actively
A Solid Pod is just a read-write-web server with access control rules described using linked data. Pretty much everyone has a DSL server at home with a web server already. So it is easy to see how those could be upgraded to become Solid pods. People of course won't manage their data directly. They will do it via apps with nice user interfaces, perhaps with agent technology running in them.
