Sunday night (June 27) 17 people were shot, two killed in two separate incidents in Chicago, in one night. Last weekend 14 people were shot, one killed in one incident in my hometown of Austin, Tx. Plus multiple shootings in several other US cities as well. So Ukraine looks absolutely peaceful.

I wandered around Kreschatik and various other parts of Kiev in the years 2005-10 a few times. Never had the slightest problem with rogue police or anyone else, and the one time I accidentally left my passport in a taxi, I found a note from the taxi driver at my address next day with his telephone number and he brought it right back to me.

Nice that you avoided them … Yanukovych became president in 2010 and they became even more brazen during his rule …

Perception of violence v sats. Often on the ground, it’s about where you go & who/what you are involved with.

The restrictions have been lifted completely where I live in the US for a few weeks now. UK still has a lot though and is still requiring a minimum 5 day quarantine for visitors. I had to cancel my trip there and go to Amsterdam, which makes it pretty easy. I'm hoping to make it to Ukraine in August to check it out. I'm just worried about the next country I travel to afterward considering Ukraine a high risk area and have a bunch of hoops to jump through to gain entry.

Hi Connor; I just arrived in Kiev last week and I already love it. I've thought enjoying the city alone is great too, and that's what I've been doing. If I can date a girl, it would be great, but if not, it's ok... I prefer to be relaxed than being with a scammer.
    Thanks for your videos!

Its so much better than 8 years ago. The police is way better equipt and is way better trained. They are very friendly and are mostly not corrupt (dont try giving them money, they will literally arrest you anyways). There is much construction in 2021 (Road construction, bridge construction, building construction etc.). In 2021 the roads are pretty much good everywhere, because of major investment in ukraines infrastructure, but sometimes it causes traffic jams, because roads are blocked because of construction (In lviv it was particulary bad, because many roads get reconstructed). I love it though and feel much safer than in 2013.

Russian is used by over 75% of Ukraine. Only Lvov and far Western Ukraine speak 100% Ukrainian. Even in Lvov, there's Russian on the streets.

But the Romance and Restaurant scams have only been going up and up with every passing year. Despite of this covered Live in TLC which give Ukrainians a terrible reputation in whole of USA - government did nothing. Such things are unheard of even in neighbouring Belarus.
In comparison a sting operation by channel 6 (or BBC can't remember) on Scam Call centres in India - the raids happened in next 24 hours and the owner was in custody of Delhi Police.

Do you know anything about Krivoy Rog? Met people on a cruise that live there and visiting as well. Keep up the fantastic videos!

5:00 i was in that place and have to pay 650 usd for 2 glasses of whisky. There was few muslim around me and my cards did not work. I want send money by western union or bank transfer but they rejected the transfer. That was my first evening alone in Kiev. Lucky i could pay by cryptocurrency. After that i went straight to police station and made good report. The police made good job but i am thinking over what could happen if i do not have that cryptos with me.
Some people can blame why i went there. Well in Poland we have similar bars in the basement but they are lovely, best pubs. That lessons teach me in country like Ukrainian need to have good friends to discover everything at the begining.

Since now days you are not allowed to be drinking in the street here in Odessa, specially in Arkadia which is kind of a stupid deal in my opinion. Be careful if you are a tourist and you drink on the street because the police will see you and give you a ticket; I have seen it happen. Seems to me like a new police scam.

Safe is safe, all the east is, never a problem in all my life, well never also in the west honestly but here people are more friendly . Just They are funny to the borders: I come by bus to avoid the mask, they go on to look at the picture like east Germany Stasi, this time after the passport they were not satisfied and they asked for identity card and driving licence. Wanna see gym pass? Hilarious. In Bosnia which is out of U.E. too you arrive to the border :" anything to declare?"" I love Bosnia? "" aide aide italiansky " neither the passport they control. Let's focus on girls: compared to Bosnia where also in little villages you find persons speaking English, here that is supposed to be a touristic city almost zero; I'm lazy, after 2000 km on a bus for 170 cm people (and I'm tall) I stay in Lvov, well coming from Italy I can confirm architecture is directly proportional to the absence of 180 cm high cheeks superbeauties. Be honest : Odessa, scammers or not scammers, is the paradise on earth while, well, here there is the architecture 😃 must find an hotel and take a night train. The alternative is to call a girl from another city and to invite her here. Men if you come for Freedom Lvov is a good choice as well as the rest of the country (little shops no mask and nobody cares), but no Irina Shayk doubles.
