    You have no idea how excited I am for you to start this!!! It's truly the best series and gets so emotional every chapter. So some context, you'll see in the next chapter but V was there throughout everything, he was just hidden until debut as a surprise member, so there weren't any vlogs of him until after their debut. And this series wasn't exactly removed then brought back. The original creator planned on making 23 chapters (there's 21), but then got a new job as a professional video editor and couldn't continue it anymore. Then once the 2022 group break was announced, she didn't like how incomplete it felt and deleted all of the videos. Someone else had already downloaded them and so re-uploaded everything for future ARMYs because The Rise of Bangtan has become so important to us. This channel you're watching from isn't the actual creator, but a reactor had contacted her before asking if it was okay if they reacted to them, and she said it was fine. So there won't be any more future chapters later on, but the ones that are out are AMAZING!!

      Thank you for posting! The creator, Anissa, did such an incredible job - I can only imagine the pressure and responsibility she felt each time she posted or possibly more so when she wasn't able to keep to her timeline (lesson here - you post when you can/want to, we will just be happy you are here!). In addition to each episode, there is also a deleted scenes and bonus content, so there's more like 63 videos!

    Bts collabbed with Seo Taji when they had their 25 anniversary! There was a dvd made of this concert and the boys performed 4-5 songs with Seo Taji and it is fantastic!
    You can also find it on YT. It is breathtaking!

    Hi, I am back. Good reaction, ty. So glad u started this series. Aneesa the creator of this docu series is an editor. It took her 4 yrs of research to create 20 plus chapters. Many army don't want this series to end. Aneesa has to do more research to tell the rest of BTS story. She sadly does not plan to do that no more. Aneesa is a full time editor in Disney now. She was a pro editor when she created this passion project of hers. I am glad u like her work. It took her 4 yrs to create 23 chapters. Sadly, she only published 21 of those. I hope she shares the others in the future if she can. In the US there are speciality schools. But parents don't really encourage kids to apply to them. Also, it's really hard the competition is harsh to get into art school, dance, music, etc. There are HS's and colleges as well as universities. There are tech school as well. But i feel SK they are more organised there. Because of the industry many kids take the risk. Here many apply but it's really hard when no one is supporting u. The restaurant lady's place is famous to army. Army visit her place and it's filled with BTS merch and pics. She makes good food. She still proud of the guys. She always believed in them and she was right. Joon was in underground like Suga meaning they were in the rap underground. They were rapping and battling. Hard core stuff. Yeah, the other companies are too focused on perfection. It's messed up. A member of twice got into an accident and had to do rehab. She was placed on hormone pills and this made her gain a lot of weight. She got so bullied via social media it was terrible. Ppl are not kind. It's so sad and frustrating. Pang PD is such a progressive thinker. I adore him. RM learned Eng by watching the TV show Friends. RM adores Nas a USA rapper. He listens to a lot of Western rap. Jimin was the last member to join. He was with them 6-8 months.he was almost cut 8 times. Poor guy. RM, Suga, Jin and JK i think trained for 3 yrs. V trained for 2. V was hidden member. The guide u watched explained this. This is why i suggest ppl rewatch the guides on their own because u forget. Excited to hear your thoughts on ch.2. Hugs. -NY USA 2019 Army💟

    Kpop is not a genre actually, it's an industry because groups can choose whatever genre they want. I know you can listen to like one or two songs from a singer or group and get the gist of their sound but with BTS, their discography is so varied that you need to listen to a variety of the music to get who they are.
    Rayna said on 1/29/22
    The first thing to understand is, that "K-Pop" is not really just a genre, it's more a whole industry..
    As SUGA (one of the BTS members) once said:
    "I’m a little careful to talk about K-pop as a genre, because I don’t want to be defining Kpop as a genre. I’m a little bit wary of that, but I think rather than approach Kpop as a genre, a better approach would be ‘integrated content.' K-pop includes not just the music, but the clothes, the makeup, the choreography…all these elements I think sort of amalgamate together in a visual and auditory content package, that I think sets it apart from other music or maybe other genres so again, as I said, rather than approach K-pop as it’s own genre I think approaching it as this integration of different content would be better.”
    BTS is more than just K-Pop.

    A few comments. First off, when Jin said his parents weren’t around to take care of him he only meant that he was living with the members and not his parents. He was the baby in his family and then suddenly became the oldest of 7
    Rise of Bangtan original channel had over 100k subscribers when it was pulled. The captions say this is an army edit, and yes Aneesa is army but the concept and execution and editing is all the work of one person, Aneesa. It was a project she actually started back in 2017 and aired the first episode on UA-cam in January 2021. Each episode just gets better and better. There are also deleted scenes for episode 1 and 2 and then also bonus content starting episode 3
    I’m super happy you were referred to this series because it is truly professional quality and Aneesa is a heck of a good story teller.
    I’m looking forward to the next part of your BTS journey 💜😃🇨🇦
    @aellerica6380 said on 7/19/23
    I found it. “But also, as Bangtan’s career continues to thrive, the more incomplete the series feels to me. I never expected it to reach so many people and, had I known it would grown so much, I might have added more explanation and clarity within the narrative. For these reasons I’ve decided that TRoB will no longer be available on this channel'.
    @tammarabg8174 said on 7/19/23
    I am excited that you are doing this series. Aneesa put a lot of work into this project. She was a kpop fan before BTS debuted. She felt it was important to put in the history and talk about the big music companies training practices. She noticed BTS because they were different.
    Just a heads up on the ages. The members are giving you their Korean age. You need to subtract one or two years Most of the members were born September-December, so subtract two years. J-Hope and Suga were born in February and March respectively, so usually you can just subtract one year. Korean age is counted by years you have lived in, not by the sets of 365 days you have lived. V was born December 30 1995. That was the first year that he lived in, so he was one. Two days later, January 1st, 1996, that is the second year he lived in, so he was now two. When the boys debuted, Jin was 20 and JK was 15.
    @monicab968 said on 8/28/23
    FYI, "auntie/aunt" is also an umbrella term that can reference any middle aged woman. So here, the restaurant owner is not their blood related aunt, but a middle aged woman who provides their meals. You will also see that after a certain age, you will respectfully be called grandma.
    @aishwaryaahirrao said on 8/28/23
    This is a great series! Aneesa (the creator of The Rise of Bangtan) shared that she has been working on this series (her labor of love) for over 3 years! She is taking viewer on a journey step-by-step from BTS' perspective not looking back on their days but living through them (with them). She edits their content to allow BTS to speak their thoughts, through their experiences at the time because BTS has been documenting themselves since BEFORE their debut, so there is A LOT of material to edit down to tell their story! She also gives an overview of the KPop history for those who are not familiar with the industry. She uses clips from different video clips of other idols/ journalists interviews to try to give a broader perspective of the industry. Her skill as a professional video editor really shines through. Amazing work! I think many ARMY really like this series (besides it being extremely well made), she doesn't try to interpret what "she thinks" BTS is trying to say, she just shows the viewers exactly what they said and shared about what their thoughts were at the time. She is an "OG" KPop fan and BTS fan since pre-debut! She also shared that BTS has been the light in her darkness for many years now. (Cr: "FY" on yt)
    I think it's important to notice the differences between BTS' worries and the other trainees worries. BTS' were worried about their own personal skills (not dancing well enough, song worries, etc), about not getting attention when they debut due to their small company, not having money, etc. While the other trainees seem to be living in fear of being cut from the company at any moment if they make one mistake, worrying about weight quotas, etc. BTS stayed until late hours because they WANTED to, while the other trainees HAD to. Obviously BTS had things they had to do too, they could've not made it to debut as Jimin almost did due to short training, but instead of using that as a fear to hold over them Bighit seemed to use it to encourage them to work harder and improve themselves. BTS were allowed to make mistakes without worrying they'd be thrown out of the company.
    I'm very glad that they all signed with Bighit, and that Bighit has caused a shift in the Kpop industry, lots of newer companies are giving their groups more freedom and treating them better due to BTS' success. These companies see that idols don't need to be punished and forced to do things in order to succeed, BTS are proof that freedom and happiness should be the most important thing. (Cr: "Shannon" on yt)
    Now plz understand this 1st & 2nd episode shows two sides, one is typical k-pop system and how the labels/industry work, whereas subtle hints of BTS and bighit being contradictory different is shown, BTS is different from other K-pop groups and BigHit is different from other idol music companies. These first few episodes can be misleading because it makes you think BTS management follows these guidelines the other idol members from other companies are talking about, but BTS and BigHit don't do those things. Notice how when it is said idols don't have a lot of creative freedom, you see Namjoon and Yoongi writing lyrics, or when it says idols have phone bans or something, you see the BTS members on their phones, or how when idols say they aren't allowed to go outside the dorm, you see Yoongi walking around freely. It can be a confusing thing for new ARMY to make note of, but PLEASE notice these differences. It is vital to how BigHit runs differently, and therefore why BTS is so different from other idol groups from the very start. (Cr: "Kayla Kulik" on yt)

    I've been watching this series from early on and it's FIRE. I've dropped off when creator went on a hiatus but I gotta check if there are new episodes. It's one of the absolute best pieces of fan content I've seen created. With very minor fixes it could've been easily a Netflix documentary or something.

    Idk if you really got how different BTS non-mainstream company and treatment and expectations were compared to others as they showed going back and forth here showing other big companies and Idol trainees talking and then BTS members and Bang PD.
    I suggest you pause not to miss things or misunderstand things said when you speak.
    Because yes of course there are similarities but there are HUGE differences between their trainee and idol journey and that of the idols on the big 3 companies.

    I'm so excited to watch this series with you. I've watched it a ton but never get tired of it. Thank you for letting it play right to the end, so many reactors cut it off when they get to previews for the next episode, but there is always new content after those previews that they miss by doing that. If I could make a suggestion, I think you miss some of what is written when talking while the video is playing, so if you could pause to speak it might be more beneficial to you....just a suggestion. Please also react to the bonus and deleted scenes for the chapters...they are equally good. Thank you for reacting and Merry Christmas

  • @angeladeshon1496

    Yes, Taehyung debuted with them. He actually joined BigHit in 2011, before Jimin (2012), but was hidden until their debut as a surprise member. As you continue the next episode, you'll see where Tae explains how he's been there the whole time. Personally, I'm really looking forward to following your journey through this documentary and hope you'll check out the bonus content and deleted scenes as well for each episode.
    Also, you mentioned other official documentaries, such as Burn the Stage, etc... The biggest difference between those docuseries and the fan-made Rise of Bangtan series is that the official ones document them behind the scenes during specific tours and/or eras, whereas R-O-B documents their literal rise to stardom from pre-debut through the Love Yourself series in 2018 using their own official content and other sources. Unfortunately, the original creator, Aneesa, was unable to complete the docuseries. ARMY truly loves and respects her, as well as the others assisting her during the creation of the series, and appreciates all the time and effort that was put into the content she compiled and edited together so well. If the day ever comes when she can resume the series, we’d be ecstatic, but also understanding if she isn’t able to. Borahae! 💜

    You most probably know by now that V was there, but hidden. He was not last to join the team, Jimin was (actually, Bang PD did not want Jimin and had to be convinced). Watch the deleted scenes as well. You will, as I did, fall even more deeply in love with these seven knowing their struggles and fortitude. Hobi, especially, will grab your heartstrings. My heart basically broke 💔 with his pain. Each of them suffered difficulties, but seeing this fantastic, incredibly talented person working so diligently and being disrespected and attacked to actual cruelty does something to you. For a time, fans did not come to his lives and he received no messages or fanmail. He'd say "it's okay," but you can see and know he was hurting...to the point he believed he was a detriment to the team and decided to leave. He was convinced to return and the first time Jimin handed fan mail to Hobi the joy is almost palpable. I developed such a 💜love💜 for him right there.

    I remember when the episodes were dropping, it was a phenomenon. But they were edited to such a professional and meticulous level that Aneesa (the creator) went pretty much on burnout and she ended up terminating the series earlier than was planned since it was way too time consuming for her, still plenty of episodes to enjoy (and she also released behinds and bonus content for each episode so we really did get spoiled)
