- Mezzoforte is an instrumental jazz-funk fusion band from Iceland. They were formed in 1977 and had a big cross-over hit with ‘Garden Party in 1983.
This concert was recorded at the Garden Pavillion of the Congresgebouw during the North Sea Jazz Festival in The Hague, The Netherlands, July 12, 1986. The recording was made by AVRO Television.

Great to see this footage! An highly gifted musical assemblage of youngsters. Despite the awful soundboard recording, it's great to see their joy and to listen to some of their finest work of the 80's!

I'm a saxophonist and a fan of Marinthal style, his solos are so melodic, and he can can bop with the best, a ka John Coltrane style.
Dave O Higgins, was also in a band called Roadside Picnic who i think did 2 great albums on BMG. First was self titled and second was called For Mad Men Only

god this soundboard recording is pretty awful. All you can hear is Bass, Sax, Toms, Hihat and the percussive loops
Still better than no video! There are not so many early Mezzoforte videos on the tube.

Mezzoforte deserves a better sound than this. This concert sounds like the sound engineer was in another room while mixing the band.
