I know of no better thrill, than seeing you have posted another video. In a uncertain world, it just makes me want to move to Estonia and follow you around with broken chairs...sort of like a 'groupy'... you make everything better. Thank You!
Bitte weiter so! Fibt ein ABO von mir. LG aus Deutschland
Another great job. Let’s get him up to 300-thousand followers by the end of the year. He is deserving of it. One of the best furniture restoration channels on UA-cam. We can do this!!!
The BEST Saturdays in the year are those with one of your videos! Wonderful, educational, respectful, generous, no frills, and always a glorious result. Woodworker's heaven, if only for 30 minutes. Thank you Ahti!
Sprained my thumb smashing the play button...you never disappoint, and I always learn something new. Thank you so much, and KUDOS on another absolutely stunning restoration. You always showcase the most beautiful pieces, what a treat for us to get to see them returned back to their glory!
Beautiful restoration. Interesting - history of commercial plywood. Much older than I would have guessed. Glad none of the veneer repairs touched the carved design.
When the outro music starts I'm sort of sad. It's like 'last call' at a bar, with good friends relaxing around a table, quietly sipping our 🥃, listening to the nostalgic mellow tunes from the piano player. We all leave with a smile, promising to meet again... same place, same time. Thank you for sharing your excellent talent & skills with us, Ahti. Cheers everyone 🥂
Veneer repair at a complexity I’ve not seen with being front and back at the same time. A truly lovely piece. I’m one of your many fans who doesn’t do woodworking but I enjoy watching because my father did some. Maybe it’s an inbred family trait because my grandfather and great grandfather made furniture.
I wish there were many more of these videos that I have not seen. I find these videos to be calming and relaxing as well as educational. This man is a master craftsman. Beautiful work.
I totally agree with calming and relaxing. There are some channels I like the talking but he is so good at his craft he doesn’t even need it… I wish I could promote his channel more because I watch a lot of “restorers” on UA-cam… but none of them come close to him. Someone else mentioned modern makeover which I also watch but this channel is still #1 to me by a long shot. I hate sometimes I fall asleep it’s so calming but I get to rewatch his craft so not a total loss lol
I really want to thank you. In the video where you worked on the chair for a museum, you drilled holes into the junctions and injected glue through the holes rather than take the chair apart and reglue the joints. This was the perfect solution for a rickety side table I am refinishing. The construction was complex, so taking it apart would have been difficult. But following your instructions, the table is absolutely sturdy. And watching you color match old and new wood is amazing everytime!
I also used this on a table that had a complex painted finish under a very thick varnish. I did not think i could repair the finish if i disturbed it. The drill, inject, clamp worked well!
They seem to have surmountable broken antique furniture in your country of Astoria and especially chairs .however you make them new again and as you say … beatiful🎉😮😊
You are truly the master of Knowing When To Stop. Repairs that can be seen if you look, but not noticeable unless you do. A simple (but time comsuming) cleanup with spirits, a few careful repairs, stain and shellac, and not a sandblaster in sight! Two questions: did you treat the wormholes, or did the spirit scrub take care of any active worms, and how was the pattern applied to the plywood? I presume that the plywood seat was formed in some kind of intaglio steam press, where the pattern was cut in to the curved metal plate for the front.
Wow, amazing! Seeing the page from this catalog was icing on the cake! Old Russian is just as funny as I remember it. Telling that there’s no Estonian language in Estonian catalog…
Well Ahti, I feel like I am just reaping myself week after week - fabulous work breathing new life into old neglected pieces. Great work and thanks for the video. Cheers.
I just rescued a vintage rocking chair today from the same place I found a nice chair a few days ago. I’m sure it’s from the same apartment. The chair is solid except for the woven cane seat, which is broken. There are two holes where someone screwed a seat on top but I am sure I can fix them and weave a new seat. It has what might be an inlaid design so I am excited. The rocking chair is small and has more condition problems but after watching you I have more confidence and knowledge I can fix it. I might have to buy a few more clamps. The webbing is gone but the original springs are there and thanks to you I know just how to repair it. It is much closer to the ground and smaller than a modern rocker so will fit me nicely once it is finished. Thank you again for all of your videos. I enjoy them all and have learned so much. It has given me courage to restore rather than replace. I wish I could find some furniture in my alley to restore that is as beautiful as what you do and do a job at least half as well as you do.
Me, too! It's like watching a magician - I have no idea what exactly Ahti is doing, and then hey presto, another masterpiece of restoration appears before your eyes.
Ahti! As always amazing work and great balance between how much to fix just to preserve the originality and beauty! At first I thought will need to replace the whole plywood but then you showed us anything can be fixed!
Not only do I appreciate seeing and learning your techniques, I also very much enjoy seeing all the interesting furniture you get to work on and restore! Thanks!
Ahti it's beautiful. This is the kind of restoration I love. What a great chair with a fabulous history that will continue to be appreciated for years to come. Thanks for sharing this with us all, Ahti.
OUTSTANDING!!! You restored this gorgeous chair back her beauty! I love your restorations of this kind. I also love how you add touches of its history into your videos! THANK YOU!❤❤
I love your work. The fast speed work makes me feel nervous inside. I understand you do not want to make a long video, but somehow do not feel as relaxed when you speed up your work. Thanks for your wonderful skill.
I’m always amazed at how well your repairs disappear into thin air!! If you didn’t point them out I wouldn’t be able to find them and I watched you repair the chair from start to finish. You’re a master of your craft. Thank you for letting us watch you work.🐝🤗❤️
Wow, that was stunning! It's a really beautiful piece, I love the carving...not sure how they did that, seriously impressive. Your color matching is flawless, as always (^.^) and I loved the adding wood filler at the edge of the repair. Hadn't thought of that for some of my own repairs, gonna have to try it. Thank you, yet again, every video is like a master class in wood working and repair. Thank you so much for posting!
What a magnificent job you have done and you have really brought out the beauty of the chair. Even though these were mass produced, I still think they have an integral beauty all their own. I’d much rather have this than some modern mass produced plastic chair! Bravo sir!
The finished piece glows like all your restorations. The quality of the restoration is exemplary, as always. My favorite part of this piece is the magnificent pattern on the seat. That is pure eye candy.
I absolutely love your channel and all the interesting items you repair and restore! I eagerly await each new video! What a beautiful chair you restored! Cheers from Australia. 🇦🇺
I know of no better thrill, than seeing you have posted another video. In a uncertain world, it just makes me want to move to Estonia and follow you around with broken chairs...sort of like a 'groupy'... you make everything better. Thank You!
😄
I absolutley agree. Such a treat… ❣️
Can i join? I’ll sand stuff!

Nice chair, made nicer. I liked that this was a relatively quick and simple restoration, but the results were stunning. Thank you from Greece.
I really, really enjoyed all the facts that you shared about the chair and Luterma! That pattern on the seat is so beautiful.🙂
I love that pattern, too. I was admiring it when you were cleaning it.😊
The BEST Saturdays in the year are those with one of your videos! Wonderful, educational, respectful, generous, no frills, and always a glorious result. Woodworker's heaven, if only for 30 minutes. Thank you Ahti!
Absolutely wonderful. My grandfather had a chair like this one in our home growing up. They are awesome chairs and you did an incredible job on it ❤
Spectacular. And nice historical notes on Luterma. That carving is elegant.
Sprained my thumb smashing the play button...you never disappoint, and I always learn something new. Thank you so much, and KUDOS on another absolutely stunning restoration. You always showcase the most beautiful pieces, what a treat for us to get to see them returned back to their glory!

Beautiful restoration, the chair looks great.
Przy sobocie wprowadziłeś mnie w dobre samopoczucie . Siadam i oglądam .👍
I really enjoy it when you are able to include some history of the piece in your video. Showing the chair in the catalog was nice, too.
If chairs could feel, it would know it was in the hands of a master! Can't wait for the next video!
that pattern is gorgeous
this turned out so good
thanks for sharing!

Modern Makeovers is another furniture restoration channel with no talking. These 2 are my favorites
