I recently just found out that ex MLB pitcher Phil Hughes had a UA-cam channel and here you are. I think it's absolutely amazing that you open and collect cards. I heard Pat Neshek is also big into the hobby. And I can tell you are legit just by the number of comments on your videos. I had the dream of making it to the MLB since I was 3 years old, but only made it as far as the college level as a pitcher and then was supposed to have Tommy John surgery and I didn't. Keep up the great videos man. You have me hooked!

Thanks for this vid Phil. Got back into the hobby late last year. Real talk I don't even want to buy anything from Target or Wal-Mart anymore after watching this vid. Get the feeling people go in there and weigh boxes and packs for the good stuff and leave the rest of the junk for us that don't know any better.

This has been a thing since the days of Pokemon/Yugioh/Magic cards lol... you NEVER buy single packs, and try your hardest to get stuff from fresh boxes at your local store.. They also open product and weigh packs before putting stuff on the shelf

The only weighing I have ever done is holding one pack/box in each hand. It has really worked out well for me over my lifetime of collecting in the hobby. Wasn't an issue back in the 80's early 90's though. All packs weighed the same!!

Never thought of weighing packs
I remember back in the early 90s when cards had a matte finish and the inserts were glossy. people with squeeze the packs and see if the cards would slide on the inside. On the glossy card.

There were nice base in the other packs. Tatis etc that made up for it. Just wanted to make a video on heavy packs
This years best card is also a redemption, though not the only redemption in the set. This would of course be the Luis Roberts auto. I've seen it pulled once and every other opening I've seen have been terrible because the checklist is 700 cards.

Hi Phil, thanks for the vid. I noticed you have some issues focusing on cards for the closeup. The camera appears to detect and keep focus on the BCW logo on your left hand side. To force your camera to re-focus on your close up card, make sure you cover the BCW logo as you move closer to the camera.
The focus issues are resolved with my new camera. Check out some never videos

Do boxes weigh at near certain amounts or just packs? I’d imagine you can tell this difference in hits when weighing the entire box: 1 vs 2 vs 3 hits. Should we assume the possibility of them being searched also? At least for the difference with the tatis redemption? Thanks

Kool Video: I collect Hockey. I randomly purchased 100 packs (19-20 UD Tim Hortons) some of which I weighed before opening. Definetly the packs with Top Two Sub-set Cards weighed more than the other insert packs. These were personal openings & it was NOT for any scam purpose...just plain curiosity. It's kinda like a self inflicted Last Pack Mojo (LOL) ! I love Ur Channel and it's Content. Keep Up The Good Work & TY 4 Sharing !
