Used to play this game on 2002 or maybe 2003 when I'm still junior high with 7 of my buddies in internet cafe.... 2 of them died on automobile accident recently. This makes me remember those guys....
Koero. Kingdom of Einheriar Ragnarok Online, that was a server that my father used to lead as the first admin in the game, a RO roleplaying server where you can be an elf crying in a forest where this soundtrack plays. I loved that game.

This was most people in their 30's first MMO they ever got to play. Really cool how much fun came out of this title. So many amazing communities as well.
this is it ,this game was my first online game , his graphic was not the best , but the atmosphere, the music, the ppl , made it magic ,modern games cant achieve that , make this kind of magic

This game was lightning in a bottle. Gravity literally tried to do the same thing they did here TWICE and BOTH times failed MISERABLY (Ragnarok online 2 and Tree of savior). It is a testament of how this game was etched in the hearts and minds of the people that had the once in a lifetime opportunity to experience this life changing video game.
ragnarok online 1 alpha launch in korea was also a disaster: when koreans found out they were going the subscription route, they went all out on dupes and hacks. it's why RO is such a unfinished mess with missing guild systems, no housing, rushed tilesets, no animated hairs, etc. but despite all that, NA and JP learned to love this game for what it was/is. cutting room floor and RO wiki has more info about this.
1 - Don't just blame the company, the COMMUNITY was also for blame. (Everyone HYPED it with extremely high expectations (obviously that would fail, like the vast majority things do), specially Tree of Savior, saying it was a sucessor when it wasn't even near it to begin with.) 2- We don't have nostalgia of the game, we have of the era when we were kids and teenagers. Simply because having fun without worries is what marks the golden age. I've played many famous mmos but honestly it's not them who matters, it's the friends who we made and the journey we took to where we are right now. If it wasn't Ragnarok the reason to meet people, it would be something else, trust me. 3- People are all so sad but remember: We STILL have the opportunity to experience happiness in life. Even in other games or events. No it's not the same. But that's the point, it's not supposed to be. People are hypocrites by heart, they claim there isn't nothing like this or that but don't like repetition. Every encounter, every moment and thing we do in your life should be unique so that is remembered. Be we children, adults or even old people. So don't cry or blame old memories, make new ones and move ahead.

I remember we could collect cards from them and even the disk which was pretty decent updated when new expansions were being released: My first was WoE themed magazine, then Kunlun and Marriage system themed. Not sure if when reborn system came out we still had Blockbuster.

When we were on holidays during our school days, we only thought about what to play today, so I played RO. As adults, we only think about what is still unfinished, and what we need to accomplish in the future to be happy. I’ve lost the ability to be happy in the present.
The best parts of RO for me were the early days of classes 1: Novice in Prontera's Plain, Acolyte healing zombies in Payon's Cave, Mage vertical firewall Hode in Desert, Acher racing for Glove[] in Pyramid F3, and Merchant OC shenanigans in Morroc. Those were the days when games had soul, players didn't rush to the highest level before experiencing the game, and you could sit down and chat with strangers. 😢
The best era i has experienced it. I was 9 at 2004 playing Ragnarok, met friends and met my first love. Listening to this song reminds me of that era. I'm crying
I still remember the first jellopy I looted after killing my first poring and reading the info thinking it was something valueble when I was 14... Now I'm turning 35, playing a different game, Yet, this BGM gives me the chills and lots of precious memories
Damn I miss grinding with my boys on Rag. Some of my favorite moments ever in all my years of gaming. It was such a masterpiece and so unique compared to other games.
Waiting till 1am in 2005 as a kid for patch to complete with my hideious dial up speed. Jumped in the game roaming outside of izlude getting a few cards didn't know I was "lucky" With the cards thought it was a random garbage drop and sold it to the npc. The nostalgia and memories in ragnarok will always have a place in my heart

..I was 14 when I met this girl on my server. I always had my Sin party up with her Priestess, and it didn't take long before Amatsu dropped and we had our mains get married in-game.
I only know about this music from Valkyrie uprising Lan Forta but I heard about the magic of the original Ragnarok from my guild mates and it sounded awesome if Valkyrie uprising was only a fraction of what the original one was it must have been amazing
