I don't think I've ever noticed this being brought up, but Beatrix and Elle are very different fighters. The Black Mamba, as you already know, is Beatrix and is highly venomous. The California Mountain Kingsnake has no venom, and throughout the series you see that Elle has killed many people using poison, because figuratively, she has none of her own. She is also a very underhanded and deceitful person, almost injecting B, taking credit for Budd's capture of B, and poisoning Pai Mei. This sets her apart again from B, as she only used a cheap technique once when fighting Pai Mei, trying to bash him with a rock when his back was turned. He of course caught it and punished her for it, as he has a very strict code of honor. He doesn't teach his students to be sneaky and "dirty" fighters. However, Elle is one of those, and that's how he died.

You see I know how this technique (Iron Palm, Iron Fist, both train similar) works in Karate and Kungfu and it consists of two stages: 1) Toughen the bones 2) Destroy/deaden nerves. Right now her nerves are being permanently damaged. In exchange for tougher bones and hence, yes, more powerful punches the tradeoff is you deaden part of your hand to ANY sensation - permanently.

But when Beatrix found out she is pregnant, she wanted to abort the mission and go home, thus not kill the target. In this case the other assassin does not need to kill Beatrix as she stops being a threat.
I remember how people were confused at first whenever The Bride's name was bleeped out. This made Elle Driver's big reveal more powerful - another sign of Tarantino's genius . . .
Both films are about Pai Mei and his student Biatrix. Everyone wonders why she's so cool. And she learned EVERYTHING from Pai Mei. Jumping up against the katan of enemies, breaking out of the coffin, dodging the swords of enemies, tearing out her eyes and BEHAVING WITH DIGNITY (the scene where Pai Mei forced her to eat with chopsticks, and where she politely asks for a glass of water after coming out of the coffin is HER DIGNITY! - studied with Pai Mei)
Vol. 2 Honestly even though it was a longer movie than the first movie, I still enjoyed it and it was pretty dope like the plot became more interesting and even though there was NOT so MUCH blood like from the previous movie, it was still cool and entertaining to watch.
Vol.2 is a much better film then Vol.1 imo. The final act, when it's just Beatrix and Bill talking, is fantastic. Great performances from David Carradine and Uma Thurman. After the final confrontation, I think she really did love Bill. The way she looks at him when he stands up ("You look...ready"), it's filled with love and sadness to me. And Bill really did love her too. They're both killers and both made bad decisions, and this is why it ended how it did.
Agree 100%. First of all, the second film gives you both Pai Mei (played by Chia-Hui Liu, who also played Johnny Mo, the bald guy who was head of the Crazy 88), as well as Hattori Hanzo. These two characters were amazing. But when you add the last 15 minutes of dialogue with Bill (David Carradine), the film becomes a masterpiece.
Fun note: The guy that told kiddo where Bill was is Michael Parks...Back in the 70`s here in America he had a TV show called " Then Came Bronson "...A pretty good show....Also I liked Kill Bill: Vol. 2 the best.
I interpreted it as Beatrix persuading the other female assassin that, because she just realized she's pregnant: 1) she's not going to kill her intended target (who the other assassin is protecting?) 2) because she's going to be a mother, she may be at her peak motivation to not die making her very difficult to kill, and the other assassin also being a woman would implicitly understand this.
You're missing the story being told of the moment between Beatrix and the other assassin. With her "congratulations", it's telling the story of motherhood and what that means to women and how it changes them. How women bond over pregnancy and children.

After watching this and the last reaction,I will say one thing about VIcki compared to Michelle is that even though Michelle thinks she is more aware and knows what's going on in the movie and maybe it's because she is better with the English language, Vicki is absolutely more observant and aware about things that Michelle gets wrong, like not knowing who Bud was or thinking he was Bill and how Bea couldn't use the chopsticks properly and there were a few others, I mean I know they are just voicing their opinions but it seems that Michelle acts so confident and Vicki sometimes second guesses herself because of it even though she is totally right! Just something for Michelle to think about in the future!

Trivia: the "one inch punch" that she uses to escape the coffin isn't actually possible, although it is possible in the training with Pat Mai. People only tend to see the end point (the punch), they don't see the underlying movement. The power starts with the heel, pushing up through the torso, and out through the fist. Inside the coffin, all she has is the punch.
As despicable as Bill was,he was willing to allow Beatrix to have her revenge, although he would not die willingly. Beatrix also knew this,which was why she removed her necklace and put it on Bebe's picture of her (in case she didn't survive). Everybody is saying which movie is better when in reality it’s still one movie just split into two parts, it’s just picking back up keep in mind it was suppose to just be one movie but obviously it’s long as shit. 😂 I love both I do see why so many love the first I’m a big fan of the exaggerated blood and action but the training scenes we get with her and Pai Mei is so good I love how he insults her but is obviously dropping knowledge, his dramatic flip of his beard, and teaching her the move he didn’t even show bill, the trailer scene was badass 👏🏾👏🏾 then of course the climax of her seeing her daughter and bill.
This is the 2nd time your seeing this asian actor/martial artist. Gordon Liu was the leader of Oren-oshi's Japanese Yakuza swordsmen(some were female yes). Anyway he was bald (his normal appearance) and fighting Beaxtrix on a railing on the second floor, 15-20ft drop maybe. In this movie however, Gordon Liu is playing a role that he sometimes would be in direct opposition to. In the Kung-Fu movies he starred in and became famous for the world over.

Nah, she wasn't wearing a vest. The cartridges were loaded with rock salt instead of lead. It doesn't have enough mass to penetrate deep. Just enough to break the skin. And at that range, the crystals would lodge in the subcutaneous fat. It's the wound and the salt in the wound, all in one. It's not lethal, but it's extremely painful. The crystals are too light to go through bone. Even a headshot wouldn't be fatal at that range. But most likely you'd be permanently blinded. He seemed to want her to suffer. Or maybe it's the only non-lethal weapon he had. I guess he wanted to shoot tresspassers, but didn't want to kill anyone. I wonder if there's a deleted scene that explains why a former assassin would have rock salt cartridges for home defense, and would let his boss talk to him that way....
Since you liked David Carradine in Kill Bill, try watching Southern Comfort, starring kill bill's son, Keith Carradine. It's not as bloody as Kill Bill, but a non-Tarantino film usually isn't, so . . 😊

Actually it's hard to say what Kill Bill was better. Because it' really is just one whole movie split into two. It was originally supposed to be released as one movie. But because of the running time being about 4 hrs 30 min Quinton Tarantino, decided to split it into Vol 1&2

For me, personally, it is absolutely jarring to share a film with someone that constantly speaks over film dialogue. Especially the legendary dialogue of a script written by a Tarantino. You miss gems, nuance, and important information. Remember that you are mostly catering to people who have already seen these films and, although we are looking for your reaction, we also are intently watching and listening with you. I love the reactions in your facial expressions, body language, and even what you say, but I would be more tactful with what you say, how much you say, and when you say it. For example, wait for a moment where there is no dialogue to say something. Or pause the film. You also do not have to say every single thing you are thinking or wondering. Remember that your own dialogue can be disruptive and unnecessary. Love you girls and keep up the good work! :)

Yeah. The fight scenes in Vol I get a bit old. They're so long, and once you've seen them once, you just want to skip to the story

Beatrix also knew this,which was why she removed her necklace and put it on Bebe's picture of her (in case she didn't survive). Everybody is saying which movie is better when in reality it’s still one movie just split into two parts, it’s just picking back up keep in mind it was suppose to just be one movie but obviously it’s long as shit. 😂 I love both I do see why so many love the first I’m a big fan of the exaggerated blood and action but the training scenes we get with her and Pai Mei is so good I love how he insults her but is obviously dropping knowledge, his dramatic flip of his beard, and teaching her the move he didn’t even show bill, the trailer scene was badass 👏🏾👏🏾 then of course the climax of her seeing her daughter and bill.
This is the 2nd time your seeing this asian actor/martial artist. Gordon Liu was the leader of Oren-oshi's Japanese Yakuza swordsmen(some were female yes). Anyway he was bald (his normal appearance) and fighting Beaxtrix on a railing on the second floor, 15-20ft drop maybe. In this movie however, Gordon Liu is playing a role that he sometimes would be in direct opposition to. In the Kung-Fu movies he starred in and became famous for the world over.

Nah, she wasn't wearing a vest. The cartridges were loaded with rock salt instead of lead. It doesn't have enough mass to penetrate deep. Just enough to break the skin. And at that range, the crystals would lodge in the subcutaneous fat. It's the wound and the salt in the wound, all in one. It's not lethal, but it's extremely painful. The crystals are too light to go through bone. Even a headshot wouldn't be fatal at that range. But most likely you'd be permanently blinded. He seemed to want her to suffer. Or maybe it's the only non-lethal weapon he had. I guess he wanted to shoot tresspassers, but didn't want to kill anyone. I wonder if there's a deleted scene that explains why a former assassin would have rock salt cartridges for home defense, and would let his boss talk to him that way....
Since you liked David Carradine in Kill Bill, try watching Southern Comfort, starring kill bill's son, Keith Carradine.
It's not as bloody as Kill Bill, but a non-Tarantino film usually isn't, so . . 😊

Actually it's hard to say what Kill Bill was better. Because it' really is just one whole movie split into two. It was originally supposed to be released as one movie. But because of the running time being about 4 hrs 30 min Quinton Tarantino, decided to split it into Vol 1&2

For me, personally, it is absolutely jarring to share a film with someone that constantly speaks over film dialogue. Especially the legendary dialogue of a script written by a Tarantino. You miss gems, nuance, and important information. Remember that you are mostly catering to people who have already seen these films and, although we are looking for your reaction, we also are intently watching and listening with you. I love the reactions in your facial expressions, body language, and even what you say, but I would be more tactful with what you say, how much you say, and when you say it. For example, wait for a moment where there is no dialogue to say something. Or pause the film. You also do not have to say every single thing you are thinking or wondering. Remember that your own dialogue can be disruptive and unnecessary. Love you girls and keep up the good work! :)
