Hi, there's hints to charlie's eating disorder in season 1, playing with his food not eating it. Also in this season episode 2 he lies to nick and dad about having dinner and says he's not hungry in ep 4/5/6. Season 3 will cover it more.

@@Justwatch100the biggest foreshadowing was in episodes 1.7-1.8, when Charlie spirals and almost breaks up with Nick. We see quite a bit of unhealthy behavior from him, not only skipping meals and refusing food when Tori offers it to him, but also isolating himself, self-sabotaging by trying to break up with Nick, and telling Tori he feels like it would be better if he didn’t exist. In the context of the show, I think maybe it’s easy to chalk it up as just the low point of a classic coming of age character and romance arc. But they’re all actually signs of much deeper mental health issues that in reality can’t just be fixed with a heartfelt speech from your boyfriend. One of the things that makes this series stand out to me compared to other YA/teen romances is how realistically they handle teen mental health (while still being uplifting)

@@lowkeyproductions6681 yes it’s very subtle and builds the character development. I’m excited to see some deeper storylines. I do love the animation aspects though! So charming and gives me all the feels.
