The MIDI music in Perfect Cherry Blossom, Imperishable Night and Phantasmagoria of Flower View were all made for the SC-88Pro, but unlike Embodiment of Scarlet Devil (in EoSD the 88Pro MIDIs are the originals) they were only included as a quick bonus. In other words they wont sound as good as they could. In some cases, the MIDI versions may be based on earlier versions of the WAV tracks.

I composed it to be more dazzling than fantastic. Hopefully you'll get the sense of the energetic youkai from the song. In my opinion, when there's a long fight in a shooting game, the music should repeat and sustain its tempo. That is, it should be like this theme.

This is the song that plays on Ran’s soundboard when you use her to run Doom.
There's this odd melody coming in my left ear for the first 45 or so seconds that really sounds like it's supposed to be... arcade-y? It brings memories of the sound effects and tunes you'd get from arcade cabinets and early consoles.
I feel it drives home ZUN's "Shikigami are Computers" narrative. This song is nothing more than a failed attempt by a computer to interpret the magnificence of Necrofantasia, much in the same way this song was falsely interpreted on our own computers until now. Thank you for putting so much effort into sharing this with the world.
The unintended symbolism is perhaps diminished by the fact that this is not the original version, but it is a pretty funny thing still.
This part is in the final song with a similar instrument, you just didn't hear it.
the sound is called a "square wave". also in the ingame version it plays in the right ear channels.

I'm pretty sure the "string" is actually just a bass playing high notes. It should be in the original song, just a bit softer.

Here we have honestly my all time favorite extra stage boss themes in Touhou. I've been enjoying many aspects about this song in both it's MIDI and WAV composition for years to the point where I think this version outclasses the phantasm version.
I say that just because the initial usage of instrumentation really sells it for me more so than the phantasm versions which comes off as more an arrangement of the ones from extra, but ZUN's masterful enough to make both versions have their own charms.
While I have many extra boss themes I love, this one is one I truly loving hearing and have not once tired of hearing the repeated melody over many times. This is what I love about Touhou music as it's something you can come back to and enjoy time after time again; makes these games as fun to play as they are to this day.
I'm happy to be a Touhou fan. ^^
Never listened to a MIDI of this. This is a true masterpiece.
