We have sleds at my gym, i may have to start using them. Mainly my knees have some damage from a few accidents, thus I generally avoid lunges and squats and do weighted step ups instead. This seems to be a useful addition that I might be able to do sans pain. Also Nixon should be sitting on the sled, after all don't you owe him a few good pushes around the neighborhood after all the training he does with you. Good stuff.

I'm 51 and have done a lot of cycling, skiing and football...and as a result have the flexibility of a door and its now becoming a problem. Add to that I'm creeping towards 95kg at 6'1" which isn't good. Been inspired by your transformation, humour and passion.

I was going to get one for the reasony of not messing with plates. But it turns out i still need to add weigjt plates to it🙄

The side of the sled says "All Surface SLED". This is 1000% false. It will not work, I repeat, will not work at all on any surface except asphalt or concrete. The front tire does nothing but slide and lose resistance on non paved surfaces. Adding weight doesn't help because the only place to add weight it at the rear of the sled which doesn't stop the front tire from skidding. Forget pulling. Front tire slides on all surfaces.

The issue @ 12:55 can be also helped by using a doubled up, short but thick, resistance band( I use the SHORT MONSTER MINI RESISTANCE BAND) between the rope hook and the sled. This makes it so if you pull too aggressively the band stretches but if you pull slow and consistently the sled moves. You don't have to worry about the front popping up or skipping. Thanks for making the video!

I looked at this and the larger one Ben Patrick highlighted. In the end I purchased the Rogue Dog Sled with all attachments, price with them is approx the same. Its not as flexible as the one you bought, as in yours is wheeled, can be used on more varied surfaces, but the resistance it offers peaks, lighter than I wanted. I purposefully wear my Vibrams when using it, both pushing and pulling, they give perfect flexion and drive straight through my toes, ankles, etc:0 ) So good Call Mark, Sledding is the way forwards...

Great description and review. This is about $850 in the US, not bad really. I already have a c2 rower (bought around 12 years ago, not used that much anymore b/c I greatly prefer outside type things). I later got a used Elliptigo 8 speed, that is fun and a great workout. So this is just another niche type outside workout device, I like that it doesn't appear to need much maintenance other than occasional air in the tires. If my wife would use it and not think it insane, I would get one of these. Moderate weekly pushing and pulling with this will keep a person firm on their feet well into their 80s and beyond.

Having just signed up for a Hyrox, I've come back to this as I don't know how I'll train for the sled push/pull. Bit expensive for a one off event though! 🤣

This was such a good review, so well thought out, well presented and super genuine (with great humour as always). Love your work Mark!

Thanks! You inspired me to give Mark (MT3Fitness) a call for a tank; I also have a knee injury which plagues me ; stops me from enjoying my ballroom dancesport

Finally pulled the triger and ordered it to Norway. I had to pay 1617 GBP (Sic!) or 1935 USD to get it into Norway with no extras. But by the gods its worth it compared to letting my knees and legs beeing week.

Hi Mark, did you ever think of doing backward walking up stairs with weights, a much cheaper option than buying a thousand pound sled!

Instead of driving, push your car. You'll have a fantastic workout (but also a traffic jam.) In hard mode, put varying sizes of brick on the brake, or change hand brake positions, or maybe put in gear (5th or 6th the easiest 1st the hardest). Ideally have someone in the car in case you come to a downhill.

Great review, Mark! I fell in love with the Torque Tank recently at a local recreation center. I definitely have the M1 on my wish list for my home gym and driveway.

Mark, this was the video I was looking for before pulling the trigger on the sled. Thanks so much for the review.

How do I incorporate a sled into my trainning? I am a very fit 50 year old who does fully body workouts (lifting) m,w and f. On t and th I do 20 min of hitt. Battle rope, kettle bell, rogue airdyne bike, and much more stuff. I have two buldging disk in lower back and a bad knee. Knee is fine as long as I don't do too much plyometrics. Fir my back I bought a trap bar.

Hey Mark, I recently started with a trainer and we so sled pushes and pulls in the gym and he suggests I go straight arm out in front of my head, and get really low. Might be impossible with your height but thought it might be worth trying a new technique?

Forgiveness is easier to ask for than permission………….the only mantra any man needs when buying expensive items in advance of “negotiations” with your other half! Great video, it’s convincing me I need one!

This is probably the dumbest comment ever but I want to say I hit the dislike button by accident bc my fingers are too fat. Haha. Great review. Thanks.
Any thoughts about the m1 versus the m4?

There must be cheaper alternatives, mirafit do a sled for £180 just need something that allows you to push it. Any ideas??

Damn, I saw that same podcast and thought about sledding. Such a decent bit of kit but the price and storage make it a big no. Very cool though, if I hit it up with the lotto, it's top of the list.

Why dont you push your car around instead? Same thing really and your storage sorted straight away. If you need more resistance get someone to sit in it and lightly apply the brakes.😁😉
