- Today I attempted to beat the insanely hard achievements in the game Peaks of Yore.
A game focused around climbing that had an insane learning curve towards the end of the game, pushing me close to uninstalling it.

You might be the only other UA-cam to make a well edited, comprehensive peaks video other then Spiff. Thank you very much! Also: you asked for a bit of feedback, which is that the pacing felt a bit off. Living Legend is unbelievably difficult, and I would’ve loved to see some of the failures to track your growth and make the final victory even more satisfying.

Yeah when I had finally beat Solemn Tempest for the first time I had such an ego boost and eventually managed to beat it again, I was so happy.

Yeah idk why, but in almost every game I play I always crank the fov all the way up, but you're right it does look weird.
Might wanna research some settings for your mic when doing the voiceovers. It sounded fine in the game recordings. Great video! keep it up

As someone who put a lot of hours in the game and who's struggling with Solemn Tempest actually (though I just tried it one or two times like that), I understand the frustration.
I'm glad to see though that along your video, you finally understood at some point to use both hands when you jump to try to grab something instead of one pickaxe and one hand. Also nice to see you finally learned to use crampon jump when you're falling.
You can also crampon jump multiple times often when you're falling.
One tip for slippery rocks is you can just jump with S then switching rapidly to W. If you train a bit to it, you can stay indefinitely on nearly any slippery rock.
It was very satisfying anyway to see you progress along the way, understanding momentum more and all those things.

I appreciate the comment, learning how to use the crampon jump was such a big game changer for me, it's also funny seeing how slowly I played the game when I was still new to it compared to now, also I don't think I'll be able to prepare myself more an even harder climb but I'm keen for it.

I'm gonna give it a try at some point, but those last 2 are actually insane.
It's been more than 100 hours of playtime. I fell on the last few holds of solemn tempest yesterday, free solo mode too.
That sucks to hear, just keep trying and you'll be able to get it eventually.

Good video but why didnt you beat the great tines and the northern range with rope first, then do them again without when youre more comfortable with the mountain?
I didn't want to play through with the ropes mainly just to save myself time in the long run, also because I didn't want to rely on the ropes for an entire playthrough and then have to change to not using any ropes anyway.

ah, it's not you fall you die. did you also complete all time trials with the holds? spin launching with a crampon jump you can skip 4 to 8 holds at a time, since it's free solo and not yfyd
I don't think I beat the hold records on many of the climbs as I was just focusing on the time trials, yeah learning how to properly use the crampon jump made such a difference in the end.

MOTHER F&$KER YOU BEAT ME I HAVENT EVEN BEAT THE LAST 2 AND I HAVE 279.3 HOURS mind you I was trying to reset my time trials...pressed the wrong button and ALL MY PROGRESS GONE
Ah that sucks that you reset your progress, hopefully it doesn’t take you another 200 hours to get back to where you were. But yeah those last 2 are just another level of difficulty.

There is a peaks of yore tips and tricks video on youtube, i recommend you to watch it, it helps so much, when i saw you finishing mountains with like 150+ grabs i got a little triggered (╯°□°）╯︵ ┻━┻, and i saw you doing crampon jump only one time you can do it 3 time, after that you cant do it unless you grab something, and you can spam pickaxes to gain momentum like if you crampon jump and spam pickaxes you can gain much are height, and if you dont know the map or where to grab, just watch where the grabable rocks go, if they go left or right, wall run there, you dont even need to grab the rocks to get to the point where the grabable rocks start going line up.
