Fun fact: Your peter pan edition was designed by Minalima, which is the same studio that designed the props for the Harry Potter films. They actually published a new illustrated edition of the first Harry Potter book, and it's beautiful😍
I started doing this recently. I make a pile of the books I have read in a month, take a photo at the end of the month/beginning of the next month if I forget, then put them into my "bookshelves". Also means less fiddling with shelves than moving things for each individual book
I am new to the habit of reading. Recently, I decided to become a life-long reader. Over the 26 years of my life so far; many times I recalled people talking about books they read and how interesting they were. To be honest, I did not fully understand how being a reader could be enjoyable. I hope I did not just enraged many habitual readers out there. Growing up, I had difficulty reading. I would avoid reading in public because I was embarrassed. You could imagine how this affected me in school. Students who are passionate readers often do well academically. Not only could I not read well, but writing skills and grammar skill were not fully developed. I only excelled in mathematics. Oh how I love this subject. I found it to be easy. This probably explains why I chose to study mathematics in college. At the age of 14 I recalled having to read in front of a large group of people and how I could barely pronounce the words on the page. How embarrassing. In this group of people was a a very educated man. He was a man who had read may book being a doctor. He told my mom that I must have been very brave in to read in front of many people the way I did. For 12 years I have been reading with this same group every Wednesday for an hour. My reading has improved greatly. I would be lying if I considered myself to be the best at doing so, but I am glad I am not a the reading speed I was 12 years ago. Currently I am reading the book titled Civil Disobedience by Henry David Thoreau. I already read one of his books titled Canoeing in the Wilderness.
Hey Merph, I found your channel a few weeks ago and I wanted to thank you for basically single-handedly reviving my love for reading. I used to read so much as a kid up through middle school, then in high school I started reading less, and since graduating 5ish years ago I've only read maybe 5 non-college books. This week alone I've read 2 and I'm on my 3rd, A Long Way To a Small Angry Planet! Here's to a happy year of reading, and thank you once again!!
That Peter Pan is a Mina Lima edition and it is GORGEOUS omg 🤤 edit: okay I see someone else mention that so I apologise for not scrolling the comments first haha
Bookshelf goals right there. Wow! I've got my little bookshelf that's growing and it's so much fun collecting and displaying my favorite novels. This was a fun video, thanks for showing us!
I was a bit jealous of this great shelf... then I got up, walked to mine and stared at probably thousands of euros worth of books (in addition to my eReader) :-D no need to be super envious, but some of these editions are damn fine!
Holy Shit! I did a serious double take when I heard you say “The Thirteenth Tale”. I’ve felt like the only one who even KNEW about this book for the longest time. So cool! Good to know there’s another person out there who’s read it.
Loved the bookshelf murphy🥰. Last year I decided to start buying books in english because I like to read in the original language. It's been slow going because of the prices, but someday I want to have a bookshelf as pretty as this one. Finally managed to buy the storm light archive books so I can start reading it.
This is exactly how my future book shelf looks like, currently have one bookshelf with 8×2 counters, 8 of them having more width than rest of 8, it still have 4 counters empty can't wait to fill them up as i read
All these Peter Pan editions and translations! That's awesome! I read a few years ago a book called Alice in Many Tongues by a famous mathematician and collector (Warren Weaver). It's not Peter Pan, but it's so interesting and a very quick read. ☺️ I knew already most of the books you would show us as I've binge-watched most of your videos, but it's interesting to me to see what books you've kept or not (such as Lord of The Flies). I've been following you since 2019 and I've read LOTR, Pride and Prejudice, Rebecca, Little Women... Many books because of you, so thank you so much ❤️ I thought I read quite a lot already with my 30 books a year. And then I read 80 books in 2020. 😅
I love your bookshelves soooo much! I recently bought a bookshelf of my own for the first time, and It made me so happy. My goal in life however, is to have as many bookshelves as you do. Step one complete! Also, I saw that Tardis poster and started screaming because Merphy us a Whovian, life is perfect, and Allonsy!
There are a series of famous French books that are my favorites of all times written by Maurice Leblanc with the main character named Arsène Lupin. He is sort of a combination of Sherlock Holmes and Robin Hood, and the books were written at the turn of last century (around 1900), and have a charm a bit similar to what I find when reading Agatha Christie's novels. I've only read them in French but hopefully the translated versions are well done. They are always very interesting stories, imo. In France, most everyone know who Lupin is (there is even a new Netflix series based somewhat on Lupin, but in a modern take). Something you may want to add to your TBR list at some point, if you don't mind reading translations of French books... Excellent books.
Is this the first video where Merphy reads the Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse in the right order?! This moment must be marked in the history books in case we forget!
So. I had been waiting for the sequel to On Luna Time (but wasn't anticipating it enough to keep up with it closely). It's a fun story though so I might go check out the sequels now
Merphy, I recently brought this book from Xmas on my Kindle and it called "Pantomime", it's the 1st book in a trilogy and the Trilogy called "Micah Grey Trilogy".😃 I heard it's like Lies of Locke Lamora and it took place in steampunk world, but I got Pantomime because of the twist at the end. I am looking forward reading it. 😆 I hope it's good. 😇
I watched with bated breath, hoping to see my first novel on your shelf of books you kept. One day, maybe. Your bookshelf is far prettier than mine and definitely better organized!
I have such bookshelf envy! 😂 seriously though it’s really nice to see some of the gorgeous editions you have, I’ve often wondered what some of them are. Was that a special edition Harry Potter set on top too?
I love the classic editions you have! Norse mythology is a great book. Although I noticed (or maybe I missed it) you don't have treasure island. It's one of my favorites.
This was fun! Due to space constraints I got rid of 90% of my books and just use eBooks and an eReader. So it is very satisfying to look at your editions. Also...I spy an Eli Monpress book on top of the shelf. Now I need to see if you read this yet.
I was hopping to see the manga for Ascendance of a bookworm, i remember a suscriber send them to you in 2020 (not me i just loved the anime and thougt you would like it if you read it).
I used to have Atlas and Dictionary (and Battles) of Tolkien but as pretty as they were I couldn't justify keeping the books because David Day is pretty known in Tolkien community for trying to present his assumptions as facts. Instead I splurged and bought Complete Guide to Middle-earth illustrated by Ted Nasmith so that in addition to looking at beautiful art I can be sure information given is true.
I don't understand how but someway I have more books than you, when I thought I was impossible 🤔 and never crossed my mind making a UA-cam channel reviewing them. Guess I need a camera
I never knew you had read Neverwere its one of my favourite books ever. Im gonna have to go and find the review because I would love to know what you thought. Also lovely book collection!!

You... Thank you... You hero
Ugh I can’t wait to have such a beautifully extensive bookshelf!! That’s bookshelf goals right there 🤩🤩
Me, seeing expensive sports cars and other random shit people thinks brings status: I sleep.
Me, seeing booktoobers shelves: * Heavy breathing *
There's something both calming and exciting about seeing someone's bookshelf.
I'm a simple man. I see "Bookshelf Tour," and I click IMMEDIATELYYYYY
Those stacks of TBRs! I have them too and it's so satisfying to put one of them into shelf after having read it
I started doing this recently. I make a pile of the books I have read in a month, take a photo at the end of the month/beginning of the next month if I forget, then put them into my "bookshelves". Also means less fiddling with shelves than moving things for each individual book

Your bookshelves are so beautiful and warm and inviting❤️
These videos always make my TBR go up another 100 😄 Love your videos!!
