Feriha Yilmaz is an attractive, beautiful, talented and ambitious daughter of a poor family. Her father, Riza Yilmaz, is a janitor in Etiler, an upper-class neighbourhood in Istanbul. Her mother Zehra Yilmaz is a maid. Feriha studies at a private university with full scholarship. While studying at the university, Feriha poses as a rich girl. She meets a handsome and rich young man, Emir Sarrafoglu. Feriha lies about her life and her family background and Emir falls in love with her without knowing who she really is. She falls in love with him too and becomes trapped in her own lies.

Feriha is the victim of domestic violence from her own father and brother due to their archaic ways in the name of preserving family honour and she can't even befriends any man. Feriha goes through alot of beatings, sufferings and humiliation. But through it all, she managed to keep her sanity intact with the support of her mom, Zehra. 😢

Koray and Levent know the feeling of loving, and not being loved in return, and they make the best of what they have. Levent in a constructive way, and Koray without red lines. Koray will use everything and anyone to protect Hande. The well-being of Koray’s son is the only one who makes Koray think twice .

Except that Feriha wasn’t rewarded with a happy family. She was killed within minutes of finding happiness. Perhaps it was a mercy that she was killed because after all that she and Emir went through, there was still people out there who were determined to separate the two.

I could not watch this scene before but now I watch it quite easily especially looking at Emir’s look on his face. He must have felt uneasy, uncomfortable and now has some idea how it must have been for Feriah.
51:18 Feriah uncover her truth. Emir and Koray look nervously.
F: Is there trash? No reply from Emir. (Feriah purposely addresses him directly to mean that Emir knows about this, it’s no surprise to him).
Then addressing the group of Emir rich friends.

Feriah turn to Emir again, who doesn’t reply a word and as if to taunt him “Then there’s no trash. Good evening Emir”.

Levent gave Feriha a meaningful gift. A compass. So that she never lose direction. Levent saw the real Feriha. Someone with potential. Someone who is at risk of losing herself for only one thing. Emir. Feriha will continue to be close to Emir. And that is a major risk to Feriha’s potential to attain the self respect she craves, and that she works so hard to attain. Levent understands Feriha. Emir wants to understand Feriha. Feriha respects and trusts Levent. Feriha loves Emir with everything she has and can ever have apart from one thing. She reserves her self respect for herself.

@@happylucky7354 Yes, she does, but fate comes in between. They divorce because of a misunderstanding, and eventually to everyone’s happiness, more so their own, remarry. Feriha dies in the arms of Emir, minutes after they remarried. Killed by gunshot and the newspapers named Khalil as the killer. It appears that Riza also thinks that Khalil killed Feriha. My question is, how did the mental hospital authorities allow such a dangerous mentally unstable person to escape again? Surely he should have been labeled high risk and had to be placed in a secure setting? Emir doesn’t explore this question, which puzzles me . He is about his wife’s death, and after he decided to get on with life, he goes after the people who wronged his father. The man he didn’t get in with, the man that ruined him. He doesn’t speak about Feriha or have her photos about the house. Perhaps to try and cope with her absence. But how does one explain the fact that Emir completely ignores the possibility that Feriha could have paid he price for something he did. Someone could be taking revenge on him by Killing his beloved. Yavuz is just one of Emir’s enemies. Who is such a bad enemy of either Emir or Feriha to want to harm the couple? Khalil would have killed Emir. He would not kill Feriha. Emir is an intelligent man. Why isn’t he asking those questions?

Feriha never cheated on Emir, not even with Levent. She treated Levent as a friend only who understands and respect her, someone whom she can trust but nothing more. Only Emir is the love of her life until the day she died.
