every mother figure here are heroes, but I would like to give an extra shout out to the sister for sacrificing her youth for her brother. she was probably the least prepared, and it can't have been easy having to grow up so fast for the sake of your brother.
Reminds me of my mom. She was a teenager during the 90's so naturally she raved a lot. But she always kinda downplayed the DRUG part. UNTIL: I told her I was going to a rave. And she's like: "Drink water, but not too much, buy a bag of chips or something salty, here, grab some magnesium. My parents worked all day long when my sisters and I were kids, and the oldest sister cooked for us when mom couldn't and there was a time I called her mom, we were joking around but we missed mom. She also whooped our asses when needed😂 Oldest siblings are mini parents 😩❣️
Because its worse than being a teenage mother, since in this case its due to the failures of her own parents that causes her to become a mother to her brother.
Holy shit Xavier and Rhonda are amazing, they're so lucky to be mother and daughter for each other. That rage you can see burning under the surface when Rhonda is talking about Xavier's bio mum is such mum rage, what a goddamn lioness.
"But at the same time I had to make sure you ate and did your fucking homework" that is someone who will *always* look out for you. Mom-sister or not, that human is absolute gold.
I can relate to Xavier with finding out a major detail about her life, while also being told the truth about santa, &+ the easter bunny etc. My mother left my bio dad when I was two. She had good reason. When I was seven, my bio dad wanted to get into my life. I would always visit with his mother (my grandma) &+ didn't even know she was my bio dad's mom. So when I was seven, I was told that my father (the one who raised me, no difference he is my dad) wasn't my bio dad. It was a very emotional time, I remember my dad cried. I did talk to my bio dad for a little bit, but he mostly sent gifts, he never came to visit. To this day I still haven't met him in person, &+ honestly don't plan to. Anyways, in that time, I was also told about santa, &+ the tooth fairy etc. My brother knew &+ my parents didn't want him to tell me, they wanted to.
What’s funny is my grandma that is in the video with me, is technically my step grandma, so no blood relation at all! 😅 they didn’t include that particular info in the clip

I'd love to do this with my girls, i raised them while their mothers (my older sisters) were struggling with extended postpartum and drug abuse respectively. Felt the worst pain and fear when their moms were finally ready to raise them... felt like my kids were being stolen.
