- Posting this life update. It was not easy to film and I feel incredibly vulnerable posting it. Please be respectful as I am going through this grieving process. For anyone who has gone through something similar, or are currently going through something, I am sending my love to you.

I feel you. My kitten caught it. I gave him to someone who know how to handle kittens with this illness. Soo I'm praying I can take him home healthy.
Thats a terrible story, and i feel for you. My 8 year old cat died today. I had to put him down because he got paralized from something wrong in his head. I still dont know what it is because he was too weak for too many exams. He was my baby, my companion and my feline love. I will miss him terribly and hated the way he go. I undestand your sadness very well. They are little angels and deserve only the best, sending love and understanding for you 😢
Thanks for your post! 2 days ago, I lost my fur baby, Eliza, to FIP. I had an important decision to make. The vet suggested that she be taken out of her misery. She lost a lot of weight and wasn’t happy anymore. She was uncomfortable. I miss my baby girl. I was hysterical when they told me the news. My husband and I were there with her as she transitioned and are preparing for her burial at a local pet cemetery. I will never forget my angel, Eliza. She brought so much joy to our lives. 💗🐾🌈

I losy my Sydney 10 days ago .... FIP is a horrble illness . I will never fully get over it .... this was 6 months after losing another fur baby , my Dillon , to a car accident . I fucking hate my life at the moment . I'm so sorry fo your loss .
Thank you for posting this video. I lost my 15 week old kitten to FIP last night. I had never even heard of this disease & I have had lots of cats through the years. At 4:00 I took her to the vet yesterday & she was diagnosed with URI & put on antibiotics. 2 hrs later I noticed her back legs seemed weird like she was walking stiff. By 9:00 she couldn’t stand up & was very limp. We rushed her to the emergency vet & she was in very bad shape. They did blood tests & ultrasound. Her abdomen was full of some kind of thick fluid. She was so tiny 3 lbs & weak. We made the gut wrenching decision to let her go. I haven’t stopped crying since. Your video gave me comfort knowing I’m not alone. She was my beautiful little Sable. A seal point Ragdoll that I had waited for so long. My heart is shattered into pieces.

I’m so sorry for your loss❤ I lost my cat last night to FIP. Everything for the most part was normal but he had a little weight loss which he went to the vet last week for, they thought it was a parasite. They dewormed him, give him some antibiotics for what we thought was a mild cold. Lastnight we were watching tv in bed, as we were falling asleep we heard a thump, Oliver was having a seizure then struggling to breathe. I was told I could get medication off market but after they did the imaging, they were very clear it’s unlikely it would work and he would be suffering. Likely have more seizures and struggle to breathe. I’m completely destroyed, we adopted him September 24, 2022. We only had him for 2 months and he was days away for being 6 months. Life isn’t fair, these beautiful angels deserve a better longer life. Thank you for sharing your story.

I'm so sorry :( I just lost my 7 month old kitten to FIP. I had never even heard of it before but she had all the symptoms. Started with her back legs being weak and then she would shake her head and look a little cross eyed. She lost so much weight & had no control of her bladder. so we did bloodwork and her organs were shutting down. She had 4 seizures and we decided it was time to let her go. she was such a sweet girl it's just not fair.
The same situation just happened to me. I am devastated!!!!- no idea how sad and painful this is. In my case I went to Puerto Rico and when I came back my cat was also walking weird; from them to today we saw many veterinarians; and no one ever mentioned FIP!!!!! He was 8 months when he developed the legs symptoms; and from there to now that he was 1 year old, he stopped growing, he was struggling to be ok, he got depressed and no doctor ever mentioned to us this virus!!!!!! I heard for the first time today when we took him to the ER agonizing with liquid in his belly. This is not fair. Thanks for your video. You are amazing!!!!
My cat had neuro FIP. Her 5 doctors suggested to PTS. But I can’t. We continue the GS treatment and finished it. Now she’s still with us, but her front legs are paralyzed and she had memory loss and brain dysfunction sometimes.
But we take care of her and make her feel comfortable at all times. ❤

mine had a wet version, and a neuro relapse after 80 days of GS. We tried Molnupiravir next and i don't wont to jinx it but its been a 3 month since the last dose and he is a very happy cat.(fingers crossed). I don't know anything about memory loss but you can definitely try things for the legs. My chiropractor/physical therapist (for humans) helped me with my stroke paralyzed cat twice and showed me how to massage and exercise my ageing cat, and for the FIP one , I exercised him on my own. He was like a bubble head toy, for two weeks, and didn't want to use his hind legs but fortunately we got over it. God, I hope he stays that way.

I’m sorry for your lost one year ago. A month ago, I feel the same when my cat died from FIP. Your cat was your best friend, my cat was my best friend too… your cat will always be watching you, my cat’s ashes are in my bedroom. Everytime I see him I almost cried. My cat was just 4 years old.. and I felt a lot of pain in my heart. We all felt your pain, and he had a good life. My cat that died is on my profile. You gave him love and he will always be in your heart.

I recently lost my Measly cat of 17 years. Unfortunately it doesn't matter how long they are in your life they are special to you . I feel you pain and all I can tell you is to just cry and let it all out and know you'll see him again.
Same thing happened to my baby Trixie. She was 2 years old when missing and was returned home after 2 months. I thought she hurt her leg and was walking funny. Turns out it was FIP and the brain kind. I was also advised she could fight it off with injections and it was too late my baby passed after 5 days of treatment. It was too late. I miss her everyday. She was my first pet ever as an adult and im grateful for the time i spent with her. I miss u my baby 💔🙏🏻🕊🐾🐱

Thanks for posting this. It helped me in a small way as my cat died from what we suspected to be FIP almost a week ago. Me and my partner have been struggling not knowing for sure what happened to her, but her symptoms matched almost exactly what you said apart from the blood work (she had two blood tests four days apart and both were deemed more or less normal, which can happen with FIP and therefore complicate diagnosis apparently). We left her overnight at the vets for care and testing and it was the breathing that was what she couldn't pull through by the sound of it :( We've also been struggling with feelings of guilt as we feel we could maybe have done more, but your video helped me to realise that no matter who this happens to in no matter what situation, you feel helpless and don't know what to do. There is a drug for FIP that was legalised where I live, in the UK, last year and apparently has a good success rate and the vet echoed this, so there is hope for other people in this situation if only FIP can be diagnosed quickly (sadly none of the four vets we saw felt sure about exactly what it was and she was too ill for further testing in the end). She was a bit older than many cats who get it but still young. Sending you lots of love, comfort and best wishes

how were her globulins and white cell count on her bloodwork? that would confirm a diagnosis
I lost my lovely cat, Haruru, on June 4th, 2024 due to wet FIP and FPV (Panleukopenia). The FIP attacked his respiratory and digestive systems. He didn't show any symptoms until he vomited on May 30th. We went to the vet that day, but the vet said it might not be a virus because he was fully vaccinated. The next day, his breathing made weird sounds, so we visited the vet immediately. He was hospitalized, and we waited a day for the vet to observe him. The next day, we urged the vet to do blood and other tests, and he was positive for FIP and FPV. We tried the GS treatment, but sadly after 1 injection, just 8 hours after that, he couldn't fight against the disease anymore. I visited him every day, but I couldn't be with him when he was gone because it was early in the morning (5 am). However, his vet accompanied him until his last breath. My heart is broken. I still feel like he is still with me. It was so sudden; he's been with us 3.5 years. I always thought he would accompany me for a very long time, but he's not here anymore. I'm sending love to you. I believe your cat and my cat Haruru are happy wherever they are, and they don't feel the pain anymore.
I'm sooooo sorry..how heartbreaking. Al was rescued off the street last year at 6 months old.. He was already very sick with a respiratory infection and couldn't even open his eyes. His breathing was ragged too. A month or so later his belly got huge and we thought it was just worms.. But the vet said it was wet fip, and we should just put him down immediately. I'm sooo glad we didn't listen. We were able to get him help, and he actually survived against all odds. He also has felv so it's kind of crazy how he pulled through. I plan on making a video about it soon because I want to share his story and spread FIP awareness because it's not a death sentence anymore 💕 again I'm so very sorry for your loss... We almost lost Al twice.. He's such a sweetheart. RIP your kitty and yes of course prayers 🙏

you're so strong for posting something like this. I am so sorry this happened to you. I can relate to you in a way. I lost my dog to cancer recently. Losing a pet isn't easy. It was one of the hardest things I had to go through but, you will get through it. He is in a safe place:) You are so strong. I wish you and your family the best. God bless you all :)
My cat was just diagnosed last night. He is still at the vet. We are trying to get that medicine from the Facebook group but he’s not doing, I’m devastated.
@@ria-rh7sx he did not make it. He passed away within two days at the vet hospital. We were in contact with the Facebook group but sadly he didn’t make it in time to get the treatment.
Thank you for sharing this information and I’m so very sorry for your loss, Keiana. I came across your video this evening while searching UA-cam to learn more about FIP, which claimed the life of our 10 year old Siberian Forest cat, Anastasia, last month. My wife, Dana, and I know exactly how you feel. Along with her brother, Yuri, Ana was one of the greatest joys in our life and we can’t imagine loving a child of our own any more than we do those two pet kids we adopted. Losing her was by far the hardest thing that either of us has ever had to go through, and my wife has had to have two open-heart surgeries, due to a congenital defect. Although my wife’s situation was also very stressful, we had a lot more hope because the doctors knew what was wrong and how to fix it. In Ana’s case, we’d mistakenly thought she had pancreatitis two years ago, which turned out to be an early flare up of the inflammation caused by FIP. Since we’d had her for 7 year before that episode and our two cats haven’t been around any other pets, we’re at a complete loss for how she became infected. We’re just thankful that Yuri appears to not have it. I pray that you find comfort in knowing that you’ll see your cat again someday in heaven. It’s what gets me through most days, despite the hurt and tears we still feel at losing our girl so tragically.
I'm so sorry. This is terrifying. I'm treating a kitten now but he is still able to walk slowly. Thank you for trying your best. We need more people trying to help these babies.
Today we our cat Quink went to the vets. The vet think he may have FIP. I’ve been trying to research this disease. My cat is not young kitten. This video breaks my heart. I feel your pain. I’m hoping our cat doesn’t have FIP, or at least find something to help him. 🥺
I’m so sorry. That’s so sad 😢 I had to get my cat put down cuz he had kidney failure. He went to sleep in my arms. It was one of the hardest things I had to do. It’s so heart breaking…. Now my other cat is having health issues. I’m so scared. Idunno what to do 😔

I live in the UK where the new antiviral medications are approved and available, but it was too late.
I had no idea that some one else dealt with the EXACT same situation, I am in South Africa, and I was given the same information… I had to put down my 8 month old kitten due to FIP, to this day, I have not asked the vet for the results because I cannot let myself know.
FIP is NO JOKE, as cat mamas know this feeling and the heart break we feel 💔

My housemate fosters cats and brought in this sweet little guy, Laurey, who I quickly became attached to and decided I wanted to adopt. He’s been experiencing some on and off fatigue and fevers so my housemate took him in to get checked up and his blood work suggests FIP. It’s not confirmed to be the cause yet but the vets seem fairly convinced. He hasn’t been put up for adoption yet because we’re still waiting on him to get more tests done, but I’m praying so hard it’s not the final diagnosis. He’s only one. I felt so much for you when you said your cat was your companion because I feel the same way - I’ve never felt so personally attached to a cat before. I’ve had other cats who’ve passed away (the latest was only a few months ago) and know how devastating that is, so I’m not ready to go through that grieving again. I’m so sorry for your loss, I hope you can find comfort.

I am very sorry for the loss of your cat my cat lady issabella died 2n a half week ago to this FIP disease she was a ragdoll mainly indoors and was almost 15 years old 😢 😞 💔 i feel like ive lost my teenage daughter to FIP my baby girl 😢😢😢😢😢 i couldn't find a burial site so i have her ashes in my bedroom with a picture either side of her ashes with hair and paw print in a tiny bottle which I wear around my neck on a chain i am heartbroken and I feel your pain 💔 i really do

Greetings. Very Sorry for your loss. I somehow came across this video rn and I know all the pain your feelings. About 3 hours ago I had to put down my favorite cat that was diagnosed that same time with WET FIP. I had an option to do a $3k 3 day treatment but the doctor said it’s very rare he survives and if he gets well, FIP will still kill him in days to weeks because the fluid never stops coming back. I’ve been crying for hours and rn as I type. It sucks. This all happened so quick within a matter of 2 days where I could actually see symptoms such as not much movement, loss of appetite, can’t drink water, weakness, and the main issue was the heavy breathing (not loud) but struggling. All I noticed was he did get skinny within a week. Other than that, he was a healthy cat like last week. I never new about this FIP until I did my research yesterday. I kinda new it was it with all the similar symptoms and stuff so I cried as well knowing he has hours/ days to live. Mine was 1 years old. I can’t believe cats can have this. I pray for healing for you. You will see your beautiful cat in heaven, just like I will. Take care and wish you the best in all your future endeavors.

My cat survived fip last year but we caught it early.
But a feral cat i care for in my yard yesterday died from it.
She left her 5 babies with me last year. And she recently showed up after a year.
Her stomach was big. We thought she was pregnant.
I trapped her and a rescue bought her to the vet. They had to drain fluid from her.
Hers was advanced. I wish she would have came to me sooner.
We gave her the pills but she passed away 😭
The rescuer bought me her body this morning.
I bought her to the vet for cremation. I will pick up her ashes this week.
I feel so sad. I know your pain.
She was so young 😭
Her babies look just like her it kills me.

mine is in icu. she is not eating. doc says she has neurological fip. she cant move, incordination, nystagmus, cant swallow, diare, and fever. she is on her 2 days of GS shots. we dont know what we can do. doc wants to put a feeding tube down her throat.
my other girl is also positive and her appetite has gone down.

Your were a great owner. My cat had neuro. I appreciated your story. More research is needed with what to do if qt cat has severe fip. You did everything I went through this same thing you described. You could volunteer ata shelter but if a cats sick you may be upset. That happened me. I'd nightmares. Still get them. I can't even talk to FIP groups without the nightmares. Tread carefully get cats tested when you adopt . My story is bad and disturbing. 😞 lost one cat to Dry Fip I thought I don't want to adopt a cat again but I can love another person's cat then someone I dated cat got Wet fip. I am afraid of adopting or even petting a cat for that reason. Im afraid they're going to die. I told the guy take the cat to vet but he thought it would be fine it wasn't it died a few months later. The chances of twice was 1 in sixteen thousand. I had nightmares over the first cat and the second was just as Horrific. Counselling might be needed. One had dry and one had wet Fip I tried to take it to vet bur I'd a sick cat home that needed the vet asap. That cat was fine . The first case was worse. The second was also horrible. I'm disgusted it happened twice. Fip is horrible.

We were able to get access to those shots but it was too late. We gave him the first dose and the next day he passed :(

I'm sorry for your loss, my baby boy elf cat passed to fip he was 5 months old the day he passed he had the wet kind and he was doing better and better and then on a 2 degree night they didn't give my hairless baby a heat pack a blanket anything. He deteriorated the fip spread to his brain, we had to say goodbye. We put him down so he would not have another day of pain he tried so hard and it's not his fault I miss him evey day.
