The one 12 episode series was soooo good. I couldn't believe they cut it. A similar story with The Seeker based on the Sword of Truth series. At least the Witcher series going to have a second season.
I am so glad I found the Codex Alera. And it's on Audible!!!! Hours of listening pleasure. It had been so long since I read that kind of fantasy and I just dove in and didn't come up for air until I finished the series.
More than anything else (Dresden Files related), I would love to sit and talk theology (I'm an observant Muslim and student of Sufism) with Jim. Rewatching this video did a whole lot to reinforce that.
Maybe this was asked or is in Word of butcher somewhere, but with the things/beings only kids can see/know, would Ivy be aware? cause shes gonna b a teen or young adult by the time those stories get written, but if they've ever been written in a journal she'd know about it, but if you forget when you become an adult......but the archive is a construct.....but a person......?
Yep. He got divorced back in 2012, and he changed a lot of things about his life, including getting healthy. In 2015, he got engaged. I actually filmed said engagement, if you want to look through my videos.
also he has practiced martial arts very badly since college, its in another panel, thats how he has confidence to write about akido for murphy, he practiced it i believe
first novel is called Night Watch by Sergei Lukyanenko (it's on kindle). I got into Dresden by searching for something similar to that, go figure.... Picture Dresden if he was born in Moscow. Good stuff.
What character did the person shout out at the end that made everyone laugh, and Jim bang his head? When he asked about what side character did the audience want to see. I couldn't make it out from the audio.
The series Jim was talking about that inspired the knights of the cross/denarians is "The Nightside" by Simon R Green. Great series if you like the dresden files.
Ooooooh! I read one of those. For me, it leaned too hard on the humor to take the rest of the story seriously. Combine that with British-style sarcasm, and it was often tough for this American to tell what to read literally. But I can see where Jim (and many of his fans) might like it.
The "first" chronological story of the Dresden Files. Short story titled 'Restoration of Faith'. It's in the 'Side Jobs' anthology. Dresden is still apprenticing with Nick Angel, and he meets Murphy when she was a uni working a beat.
Thoughts: God damn it Jim, if you take much longer on Peace Talks you'll need to add an R.R. to the middle of your name! *sigh* I was originally looking forward to the Maggie books, but now you're making it sound like some knock off Harry Potter bullshit. For a real change of pace try writing in second person. Murphy = secret undead, that would be perfect to drop into Mirror Mirror!
seriously? I would LOVE Dresden files on Netflix. how can I help make that happen????

Thank you for posting this. My boys and I were stuck in lines and completely missed the panel.
I want to see more eldest Gruff.
Jake Bishop donuts?
When she asked the short story question... does anyone else want a Mister view-point short story?
That cat has stories to tell
FUCK, I HAVE NEVER THOUGHT OF THIS. I WANT IT. YES, I KNOW THIS IS IN ALL CAPS!!!!
Thanks so much for sharing! Has helped my afternoon at work go quicker.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! These types of videos are what help me get threw the down time between books. Thank you from every fiber in my being.
Thank you for posting
Thank you. Jim's not coming anywhere near me this year.
Brilliant, thank you.

Is it just me, or is Jim buff?
he got in shape after he got single again.
He just said he was engaged

He is super buff these days, yes.
Dresden should be an anime
thanks for uploading
Damn, Jim Butcher, is Harry Dresden xD
Hiddles as Thomas? This must happen
No wonder peace talks is taking forever. He's been getting swol.
When his eyebrows go up his forehead turns into a Wi-Fi signal
Need suggestions for other modern day fantasy novels! Preferably ones that don't devolve into smut. Thanks!

He seems so twitchy and then you finally spot the monster can in his hand
Hmmm. I think I saw that the anthology he talked about is out now. That would mean (hopefully) he's actively writing the next Dresden now.
Ted Dennison As of now, yes. Priscilla gives us updates on the subreddit. Chapter by by chapter.
And no one caught Jim's reference in the first minute of the Q&A. /sigh
A Marvel style Dresden movie would finish my world.
Marvel is too bad with villains for this.
Suns' out, Guns out!

Guy said 'We just want the next book!' or something close to that.
Which anthology has the Anastasia Luccio story? I can't seem to locate it.
It's in "Straight Outta Tombstone," which comes out next month. Preorder it here: www.jim-butcher.com/store/?ptype=Short+Stories
Thanks!
What was it the last guy said?

He sounds more like how I expected Michael to sound,
what was the last suggestion from the audience? I can't make out the audio
2nded I didnt hear either
He yelled "we just want to see a next book!"
Thank you. I thought he said, "Deadpool," which didn't make any sense. LOL.
Who did the guy dressed as Michael mentioned?
I can't figure it out either.
Yash Mody Turned out it was Faith from one of the side stories.

You don’t want to be supportive of the artist who has created all of this, feel free to leave.
"You have him over for a weekend". Nah, Jim. We've had him over, doing the same stuff over and over, for 5 years man. I totally get why, but c'mon.
I was so in love with the series until White Knight.
What happens in White Knight?
