I'm impressed with the thought that went behind this collapse able tool. Very nice workmanship overall. Good presentation.

Beautiful saw for sure. Nick is a great guy, he came out to one of our Georgia Bushcraft campouts.

Greetings from Sweden . Nice saw and well thought out and good presentation. One remark if you payed for the hole saw use the hole saw ,longer saw strokes faster work.

I ORDERED A BOW SAW MADE OF CHERRYWOOD FROM NICK WHEN HE FIRST STARTED MAKING THEM.I LIKED IT SO MUCH I ORDERED THREE MORE MADE OF BLACK WALNUT,MAPLE,AND RED OAK.I ALSO PURCHASED TWO BUCK SAWS FROM ADVENTURE SWORN IN BLACK WALNUT AND CHERRYWOOD.

It's beautiful. I made one out of thrown away mop handles. It's not as beautiful as zebra wood, but mine works and I've cut a lot of wood with it since I built it.

It is indeed a very beautiful saw. Outstanding wood and craftsmanship ( not one sharp edge on the wood ). Speaking of wood, did anyone notice the wood being cut? I think it's walnut and moreover seems to be a very good quality walnut. But back to the saw, it reminds me of the one made by "Adventure Sworn Bushcraft Co." (same size, very slightly different design on the wooden bits).

I think it’s a great Bushcraft style saw, but if I were in a Survival situation I would want a silky saw.

Say Heah, It's defenetly a Beauty. Looks great. But I didn't realize how unstable a Bow Saw is. I mean it rolls side to side only stable by the blade. I don't notice that with my Agawa Canyon 21 Boreal Saw. But it is a Beauty. Dilly Dilly.,,.p

The saw blade is stabilized via the cross brace(the addition of this peice would define this as a Bucksaw, not a Bowsaw) and tension is applied by the cordage and toggle (again, a defining difference, between a bucksaw and bowsaw) .
The side to side wobble is occuring as result of the height and angle at which he is sawing at,it's at chest height, instead waist height or lower, so he is effectively sawing above his center if gravity.
It's not that it can't be done, with either a bucksaw, bowsaw or folding pruning saw, it's just more difficult and therefore, less effective/efficient.
The side to side wobble in the video would occur at that height and angle, cutting anything of over appx 5 inches plus, in diameter, regardless of it being either a bucksaw, bowsaw, or folding pruning saw(Silky, Bahco etc.) depending on the density of the wood and the conditions of the wood( rain and snow can greatly affect the density of wood, due to swelling and expansion of the wood fibers).
Bucksaws are great for multi day base camp outings and instances in which you need a lot of wood of various diameters and densities processed or bucked efficiently.
In most day hike outings, a folding pruning saw would work just fine and are great at very fine detailed cuts, due to their control.
Both work, serve their purpose, can get the job done and have their own positives vs negatives associated to each other.
Use whichever saw or tool works best for the situation presented to you.

I had to cringe watching you saw. Sorry to be negative; I appreciate the video and the saw is really nice; but your limp wristed half hearted sawing efforts were so hard to watch. I know the wood is well seasoned and actually looked like a nice coloured & solid wood inside; but once you have got started use full long strokes and let the weight of the saw along with the natural added pressure from the position of your hand on the handle do the work. A bow saw is really a one handed saw and as long as the teeth are sharp and have a good set on them they should more or less melt through the wood. Steady even long strokes with your body behind it beats little child like limp wristed half strokes. And don't let the saw flop from side to side. Pretend it is a carpenters hand saw and keep it vertical to the cut. I am not trying to be offensive.Using any tool requires a correct mindset and technique. I do appreciate the video to see that saw.
