Genady Golovkin doesn't give a care who is put in front of him. He's ready to scrap the hell up; he is the present day Iron Mike and G-man (Gerald McClellan). And I root for him all day long.
3G showS he had power even back then, dirrell has talent but shows he's a runner 3ven back then. 3G now has the better career in the pro ranks but dirrell has been in the ring as a pro with the better opposition.
Dirrell is the closest thing to Roy Jones Jr, it's ashame he doesn't have that hard work dedication mentality, he'd sweep out his decision easily if so. He was the first guy to give both froch and Arthur their first loss.
These people lost their minds. Ggg is for real and has been for a long time before he turned pro. Most people dont keep up with the ammys. But its where the stone is carved. Period. Hes so settle with his evasive aggression. Nobody on the plant at 160 or 54 has a chance. The guys that maybe will give him a run for his money are those monsters at 168 and 175. If he fought dirrell today at 160. Hed knock dirrell out for sure. And i actually like direll
rick rich And Dirrell was nearly decapitated by Carl Froch. Imagine what GGG will be able to do in the PRO against Dirrell. Hell, I'd love to watch that.
Ray Ban yea well dirrell beat froch and made froch look like a bum at some points. Froch is tougher than he gets credit for thou. But he wasnt tough enough.
@@fucdalaw1 I wish Ward fought Golovkin back then. Ward fought 165 more often than 178. But whenever Dirrell was in the same tournament he fought at 178. That's why I wasn't surprised when they didn't fight each other in the super 6 tournament. Everyone blamed Dirrell bull honestly neither wanted that fight. They never wanted to fight each other.
Too much holding by Dirrell. When he ties him up GGG totally relaxed waiting to hear break. Dirrell should have picked up on that. It made it look like he was scared in my opinion.
I doubt he's moving up anytime soon,he doesn't have the frame altough he did beat several bigger guys in his career. There's plenty of business at middleweight for him.
I'm not arguing that Abraham didn't blow it. Although how many times have you seen guys hit a man who's down or half down and get away with it? I can understand Abraham's frustrations, he was trying to corner his man to hit him and they guy went down without even being hit. But my point is merely that Dirrell faked being knocked out.
Defend yourself at all times. It was an arm punch, no hip or shoulder in it. Basically a glorified slap. My point is not whether it hurt or not, but simply the undeniable fact that Dirrell faked being knocked out. He took the easy way out in a fight where he was on the run. People like Dirrell couldn't have such success if boxing adopted rules that penalise fighters who run away and refuse to fight. That way he'd have about 10 defeats already.
One of the only top prime opponents ever willing to fight against prime GGG, because it was mandated by the Olympic tournament format, and therefore, sadly, one of the only real displays of what prime GGG could do at the top level. Unfortunately, it was in head gear and big gloves, and GGG was still only 22 years old, not yet with his prime strength, explosive power, and 100% locked in technique (some of the shots are still a little loose at this point in GGG's development, although even at 22, a lot faster and more explosive than they are now, at 36. Just not as explosive and accurate as they were in his prime years, the mid and late twenties and 30. We will never get to see prime GGG against prime top opponents. The closest we ever got was David Lemieux, when GGG was already starting to slip just a bit, and Martin Murray. Since prime GGG is one of my favorite boxers of all time, it still bugs me, even though I know there are much more important things going on in the world.
You're right, he is much more like Tszyu. Matthysse is much closer to Chavez. Sr. and would still be undefeated like Chavez if he had the same hometown advantage that Chavez so often did.
I hate watching this fight. IM SO PISSED AT DIRRELL FOR LOSING THIS FIGHT. HE HAD THE SKILLS,HEIGHT,AND REACH TO WIN. HE JUST LACKED DISCIPLINE AND FOCUS TO CARRYOUT THE GAME PLAN TO WIN. HE COULD HAVE ENDED GGG BEFORE HE EVEN GOT STARTED.
I like golovkin but I don't think he won. However, watching this proves that triple g can box and how powerful he really is. Dirrell is clearly bigger than him and he's on his bike running away from triple g. Either way we know who has the better career in the pros. Despite if dirrell maybe should have gotten the nod by a point. Golovkin is now one of the best middle weight kingpins ever. Whereas dirrell didn't do shit his whole career but be a top contender. That's all dirrell ever was. A beltless top contender.
Lots of people seems to forget that at that time in the amateurs it was computer system so the fighting became more of hit and run and avoid any sorts of trading because you ran the risk of getting a punch scored on you. it was a horrible system. It was put in effect because the robbery of Roy Jones in the 88 Olympics but it actually made it worse. I saw plenty of guys get robbed because the judges wouldn't press the buttons at the same time to score a point. Body shots didn't count as much so you pretty much had to throw straight punches. Guys that had the lead coming into the last round all had to do was run and avoid get hit for the rest of the round and automatically he would win the fight. Also a lot of fighters adopted the the style of just keeping the face and center cover up and walk in like a Zombie trowing straight punches.
The scoring here was somewhat slumberous. It's like the fight had both Golovkin and the judges starting off slow. Them they both picked it up around the same time. Direll was seemingly lacking in confidence early in the fight. His trainers advice was in vain because he was intimidated already.
A fight lasts 12 rounds, if you check out in the 11th because you don't fancy trying to hold on any longer, that's stealing a win. He wasn't knocked out, he faked it. He was knocked down in the 10th, was on the run in the 11th, there was no guarantee he'd hold on. I have no respect for Dirrell as a boxer because he doesn't come to fight, he just flicks out a couple of fast flashy punches that do little damage and then gets on his bike. There should be penalties in boxing for negative tactics.
Its obvious Dirrell landed the cleaner more effective shots! They were scoring a lot of Golovkin's body shots but Golovkin's shots seemed less effective. But this is amateur boxing and it seems very inconsistent. Maybe the judges gave it to him because he was busier and seemed like the stalker!
Just because his corner is yelling at him it doesn't necessarily mean he lost the round or he was panicking! And to be honest i feel they both looked sloppy! Its amateur boxing and a lot of amateur fights look sloppy!
Andre dirrell has really grown simce his fight with Abraham. Even though he's only fought low level competition you can tell his demeanor has change. He doesn't use unnecessay movements like before. Much calmer and has better tecnique. He'll be back at the tops and nobody at super middle weight will be able to to touch him. He has the talent but he needs to cont to develope that ring iq and his heart is still questionable
In demeanor he reminds me a LOT of KT, in boxing style I'd say 2/3 KT and 1/3 JCC (body attack and granite chin). He has better power than either, though.
Yeah that acting was horrible... I actually think Dirrell must of been training with Cristiano Ronaldo for this fight "Right so when you get hit wait atleast 1/2seconds then fall down to the ground and pretend you have been knocked out unconscious" Brilliant!!
This Andre sorrel is a waste man. Always looking for way out when things are tough, how did he even make it that far as amateur and even as world level pro. His a actor not really boxer.
Triple G as an amateur! These videos are gold!
7:45
Dirrell tries to throw ggg to the floor, but ggg overpowered him
Yeah thats awesome GGG did wrestling when he was younger.
And they say Golovkin can't box...
El Tigre They haven't seen much because recently he chose to FIGHT than box.
the corner of dirrel was the tipyc supremacist black thinking dirrel was better because of his race and faster thats wahy he losted
yo that was the fastest punch i've ever seen 3:05
I was looking for someone to comment on this.Great punch, impossible to avoid it.He didn't telegraph ti at all.
the art of shifting!.
i seened that video

even here GGG was able to cut the ring. I like how he knew Dirrell would not stay in the corner and landed that over hand right (6:00).
these are some of the best boxer in my era man ggg can box for real
can't believe people think direll won hahaha
it turned out that in round 2, it was Dirrell that respected GGG
Golovkin is a masterful boxer everything he does has a purpose
andre dirrell has pure style and its unique when he faught carl froch they said he was bout as fast as roy jones jr in his prime
GGG most avoided fighter
liljuve13 or most PROTECTED fighter ???
Golovkin one of the best of all time! Direll is not a sportsman just an actor!
Dirrells corner sure didn't think he was winning!
Little G is so cute!!!
awesome fight!
At 7:32 when Andre direll was on the ropes he had his hands up if you go to the replay only 1 punch sorta connected he didn't land 2 or 3 punches
Dirrell schooled him GGG needs to get set to throw
Dirrell is the closest thing to Roy Jones Jr, it's ashame he doesn't have that hard work dedication mentality, he'd sweep out his decision easily if so. He was the first guy to give both froch and Arthur their first loss.
Golovkin inevitably breaks everybody down. His skill is unprecedented..
even back then in the amateurs.
Even makes slick American boxers look average.

Damn he was quick. On foot and fist. 👍
thank God they are using the 10 point system next olympics.
Dirrell points wasnt getting counted 2nd rd
myself seen that also!
Good eye
I want 2 see them in the pros
GGG BEST BOXER
Golovkin is relentless
miss those days when amateur boxing was used to be as exciting as pro boxing

No there isn't. I'm with you
I see a bunch of non-points scored in favor of GGG.
You're literally seeing what you want to see
Example no. 1 clear jab from ggg at 5:11..not scored

Their shoes look light blue from one angle then black from another?
It's called two tone!

Just to let you guys know Dirrell/GGG is 2-1 Dirrell. GGG beat Dirrell when it counts
H1GHD3FF Its 1-1 man.

dirrell got smoked, golovkin was way to good here.
The commentator is obsessed with Durrel
I counted Dirrell ten to Golovkin four
go back to elementary school
just kidding
I counted Golovkin 10, the blackie 1
Theres rules to follow. If u break them u can blow the fight like Abraham did. Thats it.

Chris rock giving suspect advice in dres corner
@ferhaz1995 So what exactly are you saying?I dont mean to be rude but your english is quite hard to understand.
Watch this on mute. Avoiding Teddy Atlas yelling nonsense will make it more enjoyable.
But do blame Dirrell for faking being nocked-out to steal a win he didn't deserve.
Dirrells coach was absolutely right other than the rigged scoring!
Excuse my typos

Who is KT?
@@Sarissa99 Kostya Tszyu.
Appalling scoring, nice thick brown envelopes decided this one
I saw atleast 3 straight right hands to body from golovkin that should of scored and didnt its messed up!
Головкин чемпион...
Direll boxed him well in my opinion
rko Kan Lol.. he ran without throwing much of anything.
GGG was getting schooled lmao!
Rapid8Fire nope.. you blind.
+agenciaLT he's not blind he's just black.
Joe Harko
yeh, probably a flomo turned into andrea weirdo fan.
ty no actual eye test
I bet golovkin wouldn't beat Andre direll in real life though
Dirrell was robbed
Golovkin schooled him...
don't bame Dirrell for Abraham breaking the rules.
Dirrell should of been more busy. GGG won that fight with those rules of boxing
dacariice19 Too busy running away, but seriously, he was
scared to throw, to take risks against a dangerous opponent.
i cant believe how many body shots golovkin landed that wernt scored by the judges!Thats not right.

Sorry but this point system thing is so lame.. I can't even enjoy the fight, these guys fight strange when those rules are in play, its not exciting.
Hacka Slash
Isn't it determined by "clean punching" only?
V Ling yeah 1 point each clean punch
idk about olympic boxing, but amateur boxing is judged on a 10 point system now just like the pros
It's not the point system. It's because Golovkin is fighting quality opponents
Tristan Peterson wrong. used to be 20 points for winner of the round. computer scoring is sometimes used, but that sucks.
He's about to cry no different than when Abraham clobbered him. Runs to much
Shame he doesn't have Jones talent.
No wonder boxers would rather go pro..
andre wart y ggg
i use to think dirrell was a great opponent for
Mayweather
Different weight divisions
Lol i dont know how many times ive watched amateur boxing and theres shots that should of counted that didnt! Some of these judges must be blind!Lol.

What american middleweights?
The only decent one out there is Quillin.
i hate andre dirrell. i'm glad he lost this fight
greaterrome I dislike him too. Hate his attitude
and the way he talks, like as if he's so good.
Ray Ban I think that a confident Lucian Bute destroys him. Nonetheless, this is just my opinion
greaterrome ggg knocked Lucian but out as an amateur. It's on youtube you should go see it.
They clearly cheating...
Dirrell didn't land a single power punch, he's a fraud who spends the whole time running and doesn't box.
ward lost to.darrelle lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol
Amateur boxing scoring has become even more bias these. Dirrell was robbed.
+Brielle Smith ur kidding right? Dirrell did nothing but move and try to pot shot. Golovkin was the effective aggressor and landed the better shots.
That fight wasn't even close Dirrel won so clearly but in amateur boxing black boxers do get bad decisions and its very embarrassing.
Brielle Smith Your comment is racists..
