I’m an old lady now, but when I was a little girl my mother used to tell me about the trees of Ireland and how I should respect trees. She told me how farmers would never cut down or injure a tree on their land because they belonged to the faeries. So what happened? Isn’t it supposed to be bad luck to cut down trees? Big business I suppose. Although I am English, my mother was brought up in Ireland by her grandmother and auntie when her dad was killed in the First World War. She always loved Ireland and now it feels so sad to hear that the trees are being cut down.
Protect and Respect Irelands Trees and stop the hideous cruelty of Gorse burning and such like destruction......the Island of Ireland is turning into an open air meat and dairy producing factory where even the cattle have no Trees for shelter and wild plants to graze on......wake up and Respect Existence
iamearthbornami every time I drive south of Seattle to visit my sister, I find another swath of forest has been stripped down to the mud and a housing development being built. Then they plant deciduous trees like maple instead of the original conifers.
Why can't every Irish Man and Woman gather 1 oak acorn and plant it somewhere? If you like, you can start them in pots at home and plant them in the spring when they're strong. One acorn for every person, every year. You can do it for any tree.
You can start it with social media.

this saddens me so much. That we lost our forests. Will Ireland ever be the same again? Will I ever live under the great canopies of old.
Unfortunately there is no program like this for ROI. Northern Ireland however is still a possible delivery service. I live in Wales but am from Belfast. It's a hard task to imagine To recreate these scared spaces, but if we can imagine it we can do it, I think it's possible with the right application of energy in the right places, concise.

and let's face it the conversation on "ogham" is all conjecture of one kind or another. We simply don't know!
That said our folklore holds the key- Oral lore. It's all in the stars. Cygnus has lyre next to it. Cygnus duration is 940 days. Children of Lir 900 years + age of the children + time spent with druid/st kevin isnt far off 940. Fourknocks is built in homage to cygnus.
Fianna is related to deer. The deer's head is noted in Rig veda instead of ORION constellation. Cernunnos with the antlers is depicted on celtic art (la tene) on a cauldron found in a bog in Scandinavia (wonder how that got there?) the main character has a torc in hand. Tóirse is the Irish word - see óir in the middle. More torcs found in ireland then anywhere else in the world.
Later that changed to three kings or Orions belt. O Riain is Irish for name Ryan. It means little kings.
High crosses in scotland have deer depicted on them. Circle and cross - 2 x equinox 2x solstice. Centaurs and man slaughtering bull on high crosses in Ireland. The cairns and "tombs" here were calendars- we knew our stars!

Thank you for this beautiful video about trees, earth/spirit evolved language and gnosis. The first things that came to mind were the similarities between the I Ching and the Om chant of India. No wonder the ancient Greeks described Ireland as that most ancient of islands. Tree depopulation has been happening all over the world with the substitution of monoculture or soulless buildings. We must recreate vast areas that are left pristine. Anyone with land can do this on a smaller scale. Even in cities park areas can be left for habitat to develop on its own way. I was brought up with a great love and respect for trees; and have always felt a profound passion for moss which grows in my window boxes. It always makes me smile.

I have an incredible story to share. This video is even more inspiration for me to put it together. It's a true story that happened to me about April 2017 on Waikiki Beach (1st named by Native Americans and was a trading point of theirs on the Atlantic Coast) later it was taken over by the British and named Fort Pickering and to this day has underground dungeons on it. It is on Winter Island in Salem, Massachusetts USA. It involves 2 young trees intertwined, a sterling silver fairy gem ring, a hug, bare feet, appreciation, an open mind, me sinking, the tree bobbing, the tree infusing a liquid into my blood stream with ignited a burst of energy in my heart then ignited a powerful energy force in the palm of each of my hands forming a triad within me and also a triad of me and the two trees intertwined. This story has so much more magic to it and is still being told. Try chanting "AUM" out loud for 3 minutes between 5-6 am in a bath of the sunlight. Much Love. One of my favorite myths is The Palace of the Quicken Trees concerning the conflict between Fionn mac Cumhaill (Finn McCool) and Midac - his adopted son.
These were likely rowan or mountain ash trees that have bright red berries and are mentioned in numerous archaic folkways.

Im from NH and it looked similar here back in the early 20th century. Our forrests grew back.
I can still make out the hazel groves of Druids as I pass by some of the Fields of Ireland by road sadly not many people know what they are .

Type in the county you live in and add Land Trust. Jefferson Land Trust is an examp!e of one in my home state.
Be careful selling it to people because some people are buying land just to make the money back by cutting down all the trees and selling them it's horrible

It cannot be ignored that cattle have been central to Irish culture and economics since the times of Cuchulain.
Cattle and forests are in essence in conflict. Forests get cleared to increase the range. Just look what happened in the Greek islands - and what is happening right now in the Brazilian rain forests. Human greed and oblivious consumption are the path we are on. We do not respect and manage our resources - we exploit them and call it progress.
Cattle didn't destroy Ireland's forests, the British did, why let the Irish have their forests when you can use those trees to build a navy and increase the amount of farmland

Tip of the iceberg regards to common threads spanning the far horizons.
The divided castes of peoples is common throughout the world i know. But is it not peculiar how Brahmin caste & Aghori saints resemble our True to the vidas, Druids. I thing that the whole of civilisation has it's roots in Ireland personally. Ive filmed a couple of places i know which are of interest. Though the local authorities have an iconoclastic approach to them. They plant forest or pave over with parking spots any place that's obviously pre Roman up here in Derbyshire. There is the dialect here too which i'd thought once to be Roma chib, born from a need for smiths & tinkers in industry. Now i think it's something to do with the people of the Goddess Dana in general who were travellers first. Out of Ireland and to the world around the time that the land now under the waves, joined Africa with St Kilda & beyond. It might explain why all my Aunts & Granny were so small. The late Ross Broadstock posed a pertinent question which I believe remains unanswered: "If Ogham stones are supposed to be written in Irish - then how come they translate using Welsh?"

I like and understand these correspondences, but I still don't understand how these dates, which divide months in the solar year are fixed, when they should apply to lunar cycles, which aren't fixed..plus, 13 moons yearly will quickly push each successive year into spring, then summer..how do you keep the tree calendar in synch with seasons?
"The Celtic tree calendar" was invented in the 1940s by the English poet and author Robert Graves, in point of historic fact.
The ancient Celts did not have a solar calendar, they had a lunar calendar, meaning that each month was a lunar cycle (new moon-full moon-dark moon). A lunar cycle is roughly 29.5 days, which means each month was 29 or 30 days. 12 cycles is a bit over 354 days, and 13 cycles a bit under 384 days, which means that some years had 12 months, and some 13. There was a 19-year cycle, in which there were always 12 years of 12 months each, and 7 of 13 months each. That is also how the Jewish, Hindu, and Chinese calendars work, and also how the ancient Greek, Germanic, Babylonian, Arab and other calendars worked.

Certain trees heal and rebalance the body. Others strip from us all negativity. Some offer portals to the higher knowledge of Heaven. Angel's perch on their top most branches. Trees are silent observers and record keepers through time. They acknowledge those whose energy signature they recall from a past human Incarnation. I live in the USA and I'm trying to understand why the tree that represents my birth month (May) is the Willow in one thing I read and the Oak in another.
Because most of that is new age nonsense. The ogham are not all trees. I like Kevin a lot, and his work, but he needs to look more deeply at the actual ogham traditions in Ireland and lay off the new age crap.

You have to look at the Ancient Irish history proving that it was them that built the Pyramids, then the link between all pyramids throughout the world can be understood. Not to mention they were Master Stone Mason's, that built lots and lots of misrepresented ancient walls, cities, building using zero mortar and etc.
I, listen to hundreds of hours of information monthly and read as often as my time permits, i am constantly running over the same historical information relating to my, yes "MY" theory of what has taken place in our distant past all around the world. There is proof of incredible technologies used in the past, the jumbling of true history with deliberately false history causes uncertainty with issues when sorting it all out. Nothing we have been lead to believe is true, Our History has been cheated from us by those from our past, related to the same families that control us and rule today and have for thousands of years. the Hebrew alphabet is also numerical and the numbers spell words and meanings pictorally. The Hebrew is also written with lines almost creating pictures, which makes one wonder. hmmmm

If you find the ancestral memory of Ireland being covered by forest coast-to-coast is beckoning to you and you feel sad that you'll never see this world in your lifetime, then for the love of the Gods don't be a goddamn vegetarian/vegan. You can't have "traditional" monocropping agriculture AND live in a forested fairytale land. Your dependence upon vegetables as the main component of your diet makes that state of being impossible.
No vowels- Brehon Law is the Ebrian Law (Hebrew law). Iberia=Eberia the same word as Britain or Bretagne again Ebritain, Hibernia, Hebrides. The Scots most likely added the "w" to Hebrew as they added the "w" to Andrew.
