I stand for your comment about 'Through my window' is better than 'After'. Because it really is better, even though there's a little bit of a Tessa and Hardin vibe, but they're very different and unique. And I just love the movie.
First video that actually voices my thoughts 😭😭 omg I was so upset that they cut the scenes, altered the plot and got rid of / completely changed some of the characters. Imo some of the scenes between Ares and Raquel were very important in showing how their relationship developed and progressed and I was so irritated we didn’t get to truly see how and why Ares began falling for her. Yoshi in the film is not how I imagined Yoshi at all in the book. Also Artemis… I feel like the guy they got to play him didn’t do his character justice And the Artemis / Claudia plot was so underdeveloped and just thrown in our face in the movie. I wish Sami and Raquel’s / Ares and Marco’s dynamic was showcased, the grandfather arc, the Halloween party, Yoshi kissing Raquel, Ares getting jealous, the pool party scene, the balcony scenes as well as the drinking game. Overall, the film seemed choppy and didn’t flow well at all. I feel like the film needed to be longer to truly capture the essence of Ares and Raquel and so the movie fell short because of that. My expectations for this book to film adaptation was high and I was disappointed they were unable to execute it well because I really thought that Ariana got a dream cast (even the fact that they are all close in age to actual teenagers made it seem realistic) The actors did what they could with what they were given so it’s not their fault I guess. I’m gonna just stick to the book bc it was so much better than the movie.
YES YES YES! i still think they did a great job with what they were given (i’m also a big fan of julio and clara so maybe that’s my bias talking), but it would have been way better if they kept all those scenes. i know the book was super long but like even a montage of some of those things would be great.
When i first saw the trailer of the movie and realized it was based of a book on Wattpad , i was like ok I'm gonna read the book first. I'm soooo glad the movie is different from the book. That's my opinion but the book was problematic enough that half way through it i wanted to drop it. At the end it was getting better tho and i could say i enjoyed it but not enough to put on my faves or sth. Then i watched the movie and i was blown away i loved it so much. I disliked the fact that so many things had changed (especially the fact that she had no dog ) but overall the movie made me fall in love with the couple and not the book. I liked how Ares was so vulnerable the actor did an amazing job.
Just hearing a little bit about the book, I definitely wanna read the book. I liked the movie and I thought it was cute, I just wished there were more moments with Raquel and her mom and Ares and his family and we had more screen time with them and more bits of the story added to the movie.
I watched it on friday and I'm currently reading a PDF version of the movie. I got a whirl wind of emotions reading the book and I agree with EMMA about the movie being different from the book and the cutting important scenes. I am kind of pissed when I read the part where they go to the hospital for Ares's grandfather and she gets to meet his mom in flesh. (In the movie, it was also in the hospital falling from the pool) I will write a review for the book. I also wrote my review on the movie.o
I really wanted to see the dynamic of Ares and his friends and their interactions with Raquel and I don’t like how they did the father in the movie he was a villain and I wished they kept Raquel mom as a nurse I feel like we didn’t see Ares and Raquel relationship enough and I wished we got a better scene at his soccer game with all the friends there and the after party scene at Marcos house
Great review hun. I was mad as well how they just cut all the good stuff. Sammie, his Grandfather, his friends and Rocky. I wish they would’ve kept most of the plot from the book. Anyway, apparently there is another through my window coming out soon on Netflix.
Theres so much cut out because i wanted to see carlos and he wasnt there in the movie and plus ( ares was totally different like the movie like exp his blue eyes and his hair it just totally different
I missed the scene at silvester with like the story with yoshi. In the movie he said then u will be without me but does a fight at prom will cure your depression i guess *not
I was waiting for this movie so bad!! I love the book, and I agree with you, in the movie they cut off some really important scenes that were actually crucial for the plot (like grandpa and the way he contributes to the story) and this really hurt me ngl, but there were some other scenes that weren't so relevant to the story, so I'm not mad about them being removed. It's obvious that book to film adaptations aren't always the same, they have to change something or take some scenes off, we all know that; and hey it's ok, because it's almost a need, since they can't film the movie word by word just like it's written in the book, it would actually be boring. There's this magic about movies inspired on books, that they have the freedom to change some little things but still manage to keep the essence of the book. When I first knew there was going to be a movie, and got the information from the author and some actors and actresses, I realized they filmed this almost in a record time, it was just a few recording months... Ngl I was kinda scared that they wouldn't give us a good movie, but I'm actually satisfied with the result. Regardless the movie itself, I am extremely happy for the author (Ariana Godoy) for this success, she is a really good writer and she deserves it✨ So even though the movie took some things out from the original story, I'm so happy for Ari! My 16 year old me cried when she saw this became real!
Hi, is the book similar to the Wattpad version or is there more things added to it? I watched the movie too and thought it was good. I went straight to Wattpad and added it to my library. Hope you had a great day!

literally it was missing so many of the scenes i was looking forward toooo 😭😭😭😭
And in the book her mum was so angry and disappointed at raquel never mentioned .in the movie her mum was really more understanding

and the book has all of that!!

I watched the movie and read the book and i agree with every singleeee thing you said.
Now, I want to read the book...

it’s pretty much the same! i heard the spanish version has some more scenes, though.
@@emmaclosson Great, thank you !
I was a bit dissapointed because there is some sceans that it isnt mach in the book but still the movie is amazing
I still cannot believe they didn't include "rayando el sol" by Mana 😑
Why do he call her Witch?
I was very confused watching the movie. Why was Raquel embarrassed when she went to the company party with Ares?
her mom was there as a waitress
