My advice is, don't expect more from yourself than you can give. It's not men. It's one person in particular. Trust me, the gender is not it. If you need to save somebody then it's no basis for building a romantic relationship. You're nobody's parent except your children's, nor are you anybody else's saviour. Gentleness to self, is the answer. Let it be and be willing to go through it, not around it. And if we find we’re coming up with explanations for negativity then we're generally losing. But you're doing just fine it seems to me, thriving even, you're just wet from the recent emotional downpour. But it will pass, it always does. Don't allow somebody else to bring their storm cloud with them. :-) Especially be cautious of being too near the effects of alcohol. Smile and wave so you can keep access to Ruby, is my advice. You don't owe anybody anything, not even explanations. A plastic smile and some firm rules could mean you get to see Ruby. Thank you for sharing your life with us so generously.
There's a saying I really like it's, " take my advice, I'm not using it " 🤣 In my life experience, there has not been just one man to be the mirror for what i have needed to shine my light of awareness on. However I do know that not All men are like this. Of course there have been some incredibly toxic women that have helped me also.
