- It’s been 30 years since Goo Goo Dolls singer John Rzeznik and bassist Robby Takac got together in their garage and formed the band. They say they did it to meet girls, but became so popular that they’ve been recording music since 1986, recently releasing their 11th studio album, “Boxes.”

Goo Goo Dolls On Lasting Success: ‘We Thought We Would Last 3 Months’ | TODAY
These guys don't have a bad song, one of my favorite bands of all time!
They still produce some of my favorite music. Haters gonna hate.
They made more than 2 hits one year. They keep touring and creating new music! Those songs really grabbed my soul you never forget those ones.
And you thought it wouldn't last more than 3 month. 32 years later and going strong. Happy anniversary Goo Goo Dolls!!
Johnny and Robbie are a classic example of the rare thing - Love of Friends and Loyalty. Magic.
Robby is SUCH a nice guy! 💗👍🏼
dont get why ppl are complaining - johnny is just doing his thing as a showman/musician - u say that they are singing songs from 90s and its bad - yea right, i can only imagine how dissapointed everybody would be if they went to ggd concert and they didnt sing iris - everybody would call them assholes then
jealously will get you nowhere. if you can still sing that well at 50 i think its great (there is a few that cant do it and try) im 56 and cheering the lads success
Believe me, have been to a GGD gig around 2007 and all they played was the soft rock and ballads, nothing at all from when they were a alternative rock band, good to see they now play some of their early - mid 90's stuff now.
Good music is timeless!
TheSara90
love you

i just want you to know who i am
30 years and I am loven every year of it!!! So glad I was around for the ride and all the miles yet to be traveled!!! Carry on my friends👊💞💋💞
Love the Gooz and ALL their sounds!!! Nothing but AWESOME!!!
I love all those bands that i grew up listening to in the 80's & 90's. I'm very Happy that they can still go out and do what they love doing and that's performing and singing all those great songs to us at the concert shows!!! Rock on!!!
Life seems pretty easy, when it's from my easy chair! I came for The Replacements, and left an instant Goo Goo Dolls fanatic.
I saw Goo Goo Dolls live three times. The worst time was on Queen Street East in Toronto, when they begged the audience to calm down. "Where is security?" The best time was on Yonge Street, north of Bloor, when they opened for The Replacements at The Opera House. Paul Westerburg and The Replacements were amazing. Goo Goo Dolls made me dance.
you mean sonic temple? opera house is on queen. would love to have seen them!
Very proud of you guys! Keep up the great work
Great band - LET'S GO BUFFALO
Goo Goo Dolls 4 EVER!!
I can't believe people still ask "How did you come up with the name Goo Goo Dolls?
Great music !! many people can relate to. Not just anyone can do that. Thanks GGD

Boxes... best album on the planet, the stage was set with all their other fantastic albums... the goo’s are extremely well rounded, nobody plays punk like the goo’s and they write million dollar hits so WTF what more can you ask for???

Would love the 1993 Superstar Carwash Johnny with attitude to see this interview...............
Right?? It's too bad he had to "grow up"
@@PatrickKendrick1988 like I would behave, speak, and maintain a 14 yo maturity/mentality during today..lolz (sarcasm). Thank you for your post, agree 100%
Where is Mike Malinin?
Who's the girl with the glasses?
A ken do!l and Barbie get it so cool !!!lol gi jo on the other hand don t do her wrong lol!!!!!
Enuff with the plastic surgery Johnny. GGD Rule!
If he had. He wouldn't have. Wrinkles.
Almost looks like a mask...
love these guys music but this guy got too much plastic surgery tryna hold onto youth
Sadly they ruined his face he looks like Mickey Rourke
Lol...looks like a mannequin
Iris is probably my least favorite GooGoo's song... not only does it have a pretty boring melody line in the verse, then he goes ahead and REPEATS the same melody line in the chorus... so many great GooGoo songs and this one had to be the biggest hit... I'd be honored if some fans would check out my acoustic piano & vocal cover of NAME on my channel in tribute to the masters. Real live acoustic with no karaoke tracks. Thanks and peace out.
NAME was life changing.
creep
they shouldn't have lasted more than 1 month
whatever that means kid lol they are extremely talented and have tons of hits, and johnny rezenik is brilliant.. only one hit wonders last a month or less, goo goo dolls have tons of great hits
These two guys interview better than any one in the industry. Still very authentic and humble. Props to bass player. Press on.
I love all those bands that i grew up listening to in the 80's & 90's. I'm very Happy that they can still go out and do what they love doing and that's performing and singing all those great songs to us at the concert shows!!! Rock on!!!
