  • As a child, I used to watch Hee Haw on television with my family, hosted by Roy Clark and Buck Owens. The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour also commanded a large viewing audience, and so did The Johnny Cash Show, The Mac Davis Show, and the Jim Stafford Show. We had the good fortune of bringing the Grand Ole Opry into our living room. Ed Sullivan's variety show featured many musical genres, lending wholesome, uplifting, top quality music to the ears of the United States, including the Beatles, the Doors, Elvis Presley, the Mamas and the Papas, Credence Clearwater Revival, the Rolling Stones, and the casts of various Broadway musicals. I call that the Golden Age of Television. On this song, I hear influences such as Fleetwood Mac, Cheap Trick, Blue Oyster Cult, Led Zeppelin, the Eagles, and the Allman Brothers.
Special thanks to go my wife Jane for inspiring me to write this song.
