  • Juno Beach, a beach located between Sword and Gold beach, received great prominence in 1944. In June 6, 1944, Canadian troops were preparing for D-day landing. A few moments earlier, a large Allied artillery fire, which should have ended German defenses, had completely missed its targets.
The first wave of soldiers, landing at Juno Beach, was met with shots from the German bunkers, positioned meters from the beach.
Thanks to the help of tanks and the Royal Navy, the beach was safe in just 2 hours.
Today, we can only admire the memorials and certain historical places
