Dust over at Cross Timber Bison just put up some rubber on the inside of his coral. Those silly calves!! Thank you for sharing, I pray that God blesses you today! Hugs and love to you and your family. 💖✝🤗 Have a beautiful and blessed week. God Bless 💖✝🤗
Dusty at Cross Timbers Bison recently hung used sections of conveyer belt on his panels leading to his round tub for working his buffalo. He was having the same problem with them. He is in Oklahoma and has a channel. I enjoy your videos. I also watch Adler Farms.
Tom just posted using the aeroquip system and he tan his highlands through it also. It actually worked pretty well. I have seen on all the commercial systems they do block it so the cows can't see the others until they leave the shoot.
Lots of Highlands. This is the first if seen your channel. I watch Chad also, Adler farms. Enjoy all the critters they have. Think I'll subscribe to and see how you do things. Thanks for the video. I'm up in central Iowa. Just had a snow storm Fri, Sat. 10 inches. Be safe with them cattle.
lol lol, calves are curious... All the best with your ladies. Rosie is thinking, what the heck is going on??? She is so beautiful. Can this be done on the farm? Has to be a task done in the office. Yes, Copper is beautiful ... thanks for sharing.
Very interesting… something we may look at doing in the future. We purchased a registered bull last year and his first calves should be here starting in March. Can’t wait to see what we get from him. He is a grandson of “big ridge voodoo magic”!
Rhett it is all so interesting. The financial breakdown as yo when you feel you have broken even is well argued. Most of all is the enhanced grr eg be tic profile that is introduced to the herd. Keen to know results as. I doubt you are. Will be interesting to see what colours are produced. BTW was glad to see the vet practice had rubber matting for cow safety. Weren’t those cattle crushes on everyone’s dream list?
Excellent video Rhett. Great to hear the pros & cons for your plans. Have you tried discussing your sliding gate issue with the company who you purchased it from? Surely they could help, even as a goodwill gesture. You are a natural speaker/presenter. Good luck with the embryos🤞🏼Take care & cheers🐨🦘🥰
You need to put bedding in the trailer to help the cows not to slip on their poop. It'll help so the wood doesn't rot out too. Can't wait to see if the embryos will take! 🤞🏻
If you are using sheet metal, rather than welding which is a tad more permanent, you could drill holes in sheet metal where you need to strap it to the "poles" on the chutes, and then use metal tiewraps/cable ties maybe, which will last a lot longer than the plastic tie wraps/cable ties, and also be easy to move and redo if you ever wanted to modify or move the corral in future? I know chad had some metal ones sent to him i believe by a supporter so he may be able to vouch for them and give the brand name he has for you. Theyd still hold the sheet down tight so will be very similar to when you weld..... you could always do exactly the same using rubber sides too, like dusty at cross timbers bison did. He modifed his for the bison, so again may have some ideas for you of things he found worked and didnt work. I think the thing he kinda worried about, was that theres no easy "escape" for a human in the chute, if you cover the sides, and i know he had a close call probably because of that too, as you dont have the cross bars to step up and over the corral on, but if thats no issue for you (that may be just a difference between highlands and bison, the risks of covering the bars) then he may be a great one to talk to and get some advice on what worked and what didnt. Afterall, id imagine past the horns, what is good enough for bison should absolutely hold up against the highlands. Great video and really interesting to hear the reasons and steps of AI. Came over from Chads channel when he first disclosed he was getting fred from you and have watched ever since. Thanks for the great content. From a UK subscriber :)
You can get old rubber conveyor belts and use those I know Dusty from Cross timbers bison out of Oklahoma got some to use in his alleyways for his bison when he's working his bison Chad from Adler Farms with know who I'm talking about but those rubber conveyor belts may be better and more forgiving when the when they bump up against them just a thought I mean it's not something that they're going to tear up is easy but will be more forgiving when they bump up against them you might want to check into that. God bless yall
I think you can cut the hangers off and weld them back on in a different spot and get the gate to slide all the way back. That could give you a couple inches wider and close up the potential Hangup spot.
On that slide gat before the trailer. I noticed the stopper on top. if you cut that off extend the round pipe and weld the stopper back on it will slide open further. Just an isdea
Check Cross Timber Biscon out Dusty has a few past videos of improving his loading and doctor shut to. I think he used metal and rubber to cover his fensing but his bison done alot better after he redone it. Maybe you could widen the last door on your shut about two more feet. God bess you and your family.....🙏❤🙏❤🙏🙂😊🙂
Black galvanized steel mesh? It wouldn't get torn up like a tarp would. And it would just have tiny holes where they couldn't see through. Color wouldn't even matter. Like chicken wire or smaller
Question ❓ do you ever sell babies before weening age for new owners who want to bottle feed. Also how old should a bull be before he is of breeding age? I know you have probably answered these before but I'm old and forgetful.
I never have sold bottle babies, and probably only would if for some reason the mother died and I couldn’t take care of it myself. I believe the bulls are viable around 6 months, but they may be too short until a little later on

Lol, the cows are probably saying it was a pain in the rear, literally. Funny stuff.

I was sitting in Texas helping you flag the cows

I can't wait to see the babies after they are born.

Loved watching you deliver Bernie’s calf! That is so amazing!

That’s exciting! Is your bull black like Big Ridge Voodoo Magic? He is an awesome looking bull
@@100AcreWoodHighlands Yes he is black. EH Samson Glenn is his registered name. You can look him up in the AHCA herd book.

Love watching your videos you give out so much information and it’s all about the cows I love it
Nice VIDEO
You have good ideas on improving your pen. Love your hat.

Praying for great success with your embryos. Great video. God bless.
Very cool plans!!

Rhett, you (in my opinion) need more coos the color of moose !! Love it 😀 😍 thanks alot...lol pain in rear !! Your hilarious 🤣 😂
I would love to find more of her color
Very interesting procedure.
Plywood and zip ties should work for covering that sweep
Thank you for sharing, and how the break down works.
Prayers for successful results! Interesting to see the process for sure. Blessings, Texas Deb 😁🙏👍

Agree and I didn't like the slide gate when we first saw it. With just a little work it could be used and not be a hazard.

It will open up further wear a horn won't get stuck
I have seen other ranchers use rubber flaps or heavy oil tarps. Because you are right they do not like the glare.

I hope you have lots of females!
😊
9,000 plus vet cost dang . I hope they all take.
Rhett, did you not get a new bull? I know you sold Walker the white bull. But thought you had purchased a new one?
What is that background tune?
Black galvanized steel mesh? It wouldn't get torn up like a tarp would. And it would just have tiny holes where they couldn't see through. Color wouldn't even matter. Like chicken wire or smaller
Rhett, how long until you know if their gonna have babies?
About 6 weeks after the transfer we could do an ultrasound

So, How are the Highlands "worked" in Scotland? Do you know or have contact with Scottish Highlands Farmers?
I’ve never met anyone from Scotland that raises them. I know lots of breeders in the US though
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸☕️☕️☕️👀👀👀👋👋👋🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Their horns will rip that sheet metal
