I must have a loose tension mine ended up being 7 and 1/2 inches. Going to frog and move down a hook size. Easy to follow and great video!! Thank you. :)
Hi Terri, You can certainly use cotton yarn. Here's a couple things to keep in mind though: 1. Cotton tends to be heavier, especially when it gets wet. If you're making a hat with the intention for it to be worn outdoors (in rain or snow) I'd recommend against using cotton. 2. Cotton yarn doesn't have stretch to it like other yarns. My hat patterns are designed using acrylic yarn and have some stretch to them. If you're able to measure the person you are making the hat for, you might be okay. 3. While cotton yarn doesn't have stretch to it when it's dry, if it gets wet, it WILL stretch and it won't bounce back to it's original shape like an acrylic hat would. There are lots of projects that are great for using cotton yarn but it wouldn't be my first choice for a winter hat. I mostly use acrylic yarn. I hope this is helpful! :)
Hi Jason! The rise (waist to crotch) for my diaper cover ends up being 5.5". I wrote the pattern this way because this is for 0-3 months. The average rise for a newborn is 5". You could make my pattern smaller by eliminating a couple rows (I'd recommend rows 9-11) and just start the decrease rows. I don't think the waist will be a concern since it is adjustable. Made this for my son, he loved it! He did shit in it though, but it’s progress! He’s only 24 so it’s understandable. Thank you! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻😻😻😻😹😽

Does this fit a newborn for a photoshoot? It seems pretty big
