@@davidpotter9462 Agreed, i am a briggs dealer also, and its hard to toss 5 year old parts that are new, and just like Tartl, the stuff can get overwelming to sit on,Even still have Dolmar ,and lots of Oregon stuff, it all adds up

Oh crap! I thought this was a funny video and showed it to my wife and guess what I have to do this week! Yes I’m a slight pack rat. But it’s so hard to throw away brand new parts and stuff that is still usable. 🤷🏻♂️🙉 so I got mad and yelled at her by saying “KEEP” 😂 great video guys!!

40 plus years ago, I worked at a small chevy dealership in a small town. The garage was very old from the 1920's. Had one of the old time H beam model T lifts we still used for oil and tire changes.. These were tons of stuff from time past. Every now and then these guys would come around and ask if they could pick through the old stuff and purchase things from the owner. Old time "American pickers" in the late 70's. Fenders, engine parts everything from the 60's, 50's and back beyond time. It was amazing what was stored upstairs. It was a wonder the ceiling never collapsed!

In a town close by there was again a GMC dealer who had been in business since the beginning of time. The owner retired and finally died and his son sold out to another local dealer who was not interested in the old stuff, just wanted the GMC franchise. One of the workers I knew said he cried at the brand new old stock stuff they were told to throw out, cleaning out the old building. he said the old man had to be spinning in his grave.

How many times did my dad and I have a clear out? We have put things "over the side" as we called it, only to find out that somewhere down the line we needed (some of) them. Even worse was the cost of reacquiring a replacement.
