VFR and Dead Reckoning are part of the Commercial Pilot license exam, the Private Pilot license is meant to be super easy so everyone can get started in career mode.
Go through the grind at the start, its worth it (though I never thought I'd fly the Cessna 172 that much...). Bugs got way better allready and once you've unlocked most it's great fun since it gives you a good purpose to fly and esp. the Rescue missions give the sim a nice twist.
I completed the PPL as a complete noob to MFS. It was even pretty easy for me but I get them wanting it not to be intimidating for player rention, but I totally understand wanting it to be more accurate to the point that someone getting a PPL irl can use it as a serious guide. It does seem to ramp up a bit after but I haven't played in a week or so as I'm waiting for more patches. Def would be interested in seeing you progress through the career mode though.
I think Flight sim 2029 will tidy up the learning procedure...I can see a collaboration with Cessna Pilot Canter, Jeppesen and Flight safety. Great for ab initio pilots
Almost everything is broken in career mode. Its actually quite embaressing for them really when they have put it out in this state... Nightmare in vr aswell. Fps seems way down compared to free flight. Still enjoying it for the most part!
Career mode would be cool if it was actually similarly difficult to getting your actual ratings. I don't know squat about a G1000 outside of setting the auto pilot and I aced my ifr rating, just by following the marker in the upper left
Nice that you did a video on the career mode. It is your channel, so you can do what you want, but personally I wouldn't be all that interested in career mode videos. But that's just me, I guess there may be a "market" for it. Take care, Steve! Love from Norway ♥♥♥♥♥
You are obviously new to the channel. Check out my review of the CLS-60 Force Feedback Yoke, the Moza AB9 base, the Gladiator NXT and of course, the Alpha and Bravo.
I know you have done a lot of videos on getting the settings right, but could I ask you a simple question? How do you connect your Quest 3 to the game? Currently Virtual Desktop isn't working for me, and am I right that the new HDMI link doesn't allow me to fly in VR but only see in 2D. I'm still very much a beginner and trying to get flying well.
I just finished watching the video, and you already answered my question about virtual desktop. thanks again for your videos. They are a real inspiration. I'm flying with a 3060 in a gaming laptop, so I don't enjoy what you have graphically, but it's still fun.
Career mode is buggy for sure, but to call it a joke is a bit unfair. It's been mostly fine for me apart from bugs, such as being marked down for not communicating with an airport when I'm nowhere near one or being marked down for no landing lights in broad daylight.
@@VRFlightSimGuy To be fair people have been asking for a career mode for years, and I think the sim still would have launched in a rough state if it had no career mode.
Yesterday, my passenger was sitting upside down outside my plane, with their bum glued to the underside. Can't say that would've been a fun ride, seemed chilly 🤔
VR recording. It's not easy. Remember, I am talking with a thing on my face and my face moves when I talk. In the headset, it's buttery smooth. Unless of course, when it stutters occasionally because of recording (which I mentioned in the video if you noticed). Ta for watching.
@ thanks alot! I was worried.. My msfs2020 with all my enhancement add ons are so much better for me in VR. I want to start the career in msfs2024, but I need to wait for asobo to fix all the VR bugs... Im very interested in following you though. See how you work it out and handle the bugs🙂👍🏻 (Q3, i7-14700k, 4090 64gb)
Please please please, help me, why msfs 24 crash each time I start or change a mission or a freefly. Have you had the same issue? I have to load the freefly and then only when I'm in I can launch VR
@VRFlightSimGuy I will reinstall it tomorrow , thanks very much for the support, I will go a your discord if the problem is still there, it ruins my experience.
Get ready for disappointment. The missions are consistently glitched or bugged, and the economy is punishing. In order to make any decent money, you have to fly 3 - 3.5 hr missions. Ain't nobody got time for that!
I’m staying away from all this gamer stuff … if gamers are pushing dollar$ into Asobo pockets which in turn will fund a working sim then that’s all fine and simply luvverly 😊
It's a start. I love it because it gives me something to do (and purpose) and it encourages me to try new planes and fly new locations.
Use ON air company its miles ahead of msfs career.
Yeah - create a pilot career series on your channel.
Cheers man!
@@VRFlightSimGuy I agree, its a series I would watch (and then try and beat your scores of course!)
While it is a sim, it is also a *game* so there has to be some creative license taken.

Then why isn't it included in the commercial rating exam and only part of the lessons? It doesn't make sense.
@@VRFlightSimGuy Seems to be made for the casual rather than the simmers to be honest.

Finally you earned your wings and are allowed to fly in the new sim WITH license. Welcome to the peeps with wings club :-)
Finally I'm legal to fly 😂 Cheers mate
Her voice kind of reminds me of Kat, the CFI who flew with me in Seattle back in 2019!

all the VOR training and dead reckoning is in the training which you skipped. you basically just did the final, you skipped 90% of the PPL

I find if I switch to VR controls then I can go straight back to mouse after and it works again. I don't have to use the wands except for that reason.
Are you using virtual desktop when u use the quest 3 or a quest link cable?
I watched but why get throttles before a yoke. If you get a chance, the honeycomb setup is 100% worth it. Especially for UA-cam content.

Real life PPL exam is ALOT harder and longer trust me.
Right now carrer mode is an absolute joke, I don't know why they even bothered.
Just think if all that extra time and effort would have been used to improve VR and the core sim experience.

I finally had the lady walking along on the wing for the whole flight! It was heartwarming, but I ended up crashing and losing 9000

Why is the image stuttering sometimes ? What kind of tracking are you using, Basestations ?

@@VRFlightSimGuy Thank you so much for the comprehensive answer!
@@VRFlightSimGuy Are you using 32gb ram or 64gb as MS recommended for multitasking?
I found the career mode Steve to be abit stuttery compared to the free world roaming
Good to know mate thx!
Do you think my 150mbps internet is the reason my texture and photogrammetry seems to not load properly or is it the asobo server?
That's a sim issue

We cant save the midflight anymore. If i want to fly for 10 hours and i save the flight to finish later, i cant. What joke!
I'd never flown for 10 hours straight. You are hardcore dude!
