The only thing I remember Phil saying (and he didn't name names) is he disliked people not calling themselves celebs at a certain point, and trying to pretend that they think all of their "fans" are "friends". He was just saying be honest with your status and that he just didn't like the way it sounded/came off. He also admited he was popular but not as popular as others. So I think /someone/ is looking a bit too much into that TableTalk.

in a recent tabletalk, boss defranco was talking about "celebrity youtubers," i.e. pewdiepie. i reviewed pewdiepie's style, videos and (could be put better but i can't think of a better way to put it at the moment) business model/practice. celebrity youtubers are all very much interested in ad rev and have multiple channels full of pretty much the same over saturated content. so, indirectly, i associate smosh, shane, pewds, most UK 'tubers, and other similar channels in that category.

wow. well, i appreciate you taking the time to clear the air for me, and you've enlightened me as to the inside dirt of smosh and repzion. but honestly, it's not such a personal reason as all that for me not to really like them anymore. phil is famous, but he's not a "celeb" like the rest of them. he and SF put out content that i actually find enlightening AND entertaining. tags, challenges, ships and whathaveyou don't really do it for me. which is why i'm not subbed to them and others anymore.
