Fantastic!!! I now have a legitimate excuse! “I am in a board meeting !” This also applies when I’m ON my board😃. Keep it up!

Could you do some videos about things like which fin size to choose, RDM vs SDM masts, old second hand equipment, different sail types?. That would greatly help us garden variety windsurfers.

I took a clinic from the great US instructor Andy Brandt. I was working on the foil jibe, which is my nemesis. Andy noticed that I wasn't keeping my body weight on the inside of the jibe radius. He also noticed that I wasn't looking ahead to where I wanted to go. He said that the windsurfing jibe is like riding a bike. When you turn your bike you lean into the turn, not away from it. He also said that that when you turn your bike, you don't look down at the handlebars, you look ahead to where you want to turn. Everybody who rides a bike knows that. Once I corrected those mistakes, I started making my foil jibes, or at least a much higher percentage of them.

Great to hear… the right analogy can really spark learning moments for students! 😎

    practise makes permanent indeed!!
need to come back to Vassiliki asap for more of Cookie's breakthrough coaching tips!! 🏎

I agree with practise makes permanent. I learnt back in the days before You tube and didn't have lessons.
The last few years I've been going back and retraining my gybes . It's hard if you've been doing something for 30 years and it's ingrained. Much easier to learn properly straight up.

Definitely harder to re-learn, than learn correctly the first time!

Thanks for the great video. Does someone know a nice gym in one of the hotels in Vasiliki?

Are you wearing Neopren? Will be there in about 4 weeks. Did not intend to bring much Neopren and hoped to get along with Lycra and Boardshorts.

I wear a thin summer suit when the wind is strong and we’re going into the evenings… during the full day rash guards are fine.
Hope you enjoy booked coaching with me for while you’re here!

Do you ever sheet in beyond the middle of the board with the back hand? Thanks

When entering a tack, just before the transition. 🤙

Second time I see you on a duotone boom and not point-7 anymore. Is there a reason for that?

    • @Cookiesports
      @Cookiesports  7 днів тому

This season I forgot to order a new boom for my larger sails- had to borrow one….you’ll have seen Duotone on the ACX and AC-0 cups until now.
New boom has now arrived and I’ve just finished an un-boxing and set up tips video for it… coming out soon! 🤙

I haven't watched this yet, but I'm sure it'll be great; your videos always are. But... please slap whoever did the opening logo (even if it's yourself, which I doubt!). "podcast's" - aarrrgghhhh! Save us from the feral apostrophe!
