      And thats as close as hes ever getting to beating Brian. I can already tell now that brian passed the heart and stamina test (he carried his power through the entire match) brians gonna gain that fluidity and mind body synergy which eddie has more of and i guarantee alot of it is because of how huge, tall and long brian is. It takes longer for guys like him. The movement hasnt clicked for brian yet but it 100% will. 6 months and 6 weeks in a pro sport is way closer than alot of people were saying.

    I mean, Eddie is also a strongman and has a shit ton of power too.
    Brian just needed to get over this first match. Get the nerves out. Arm wrestling in front of a crowd and people at home…LIVE.
    He did it, and he might now arm wrestle with far more confidence now that he’s done it and experienced it already.
    Remember, Brian is the story here, not really Eddie. Brian is what people generally want to see, cause he’s always been dubbed the guy that could potentially take down Levan.
    So, I could understand if Brian felt an insane amount of pressure to look dominant right out the gate and live up to serious expectations. That could affect anyone mentally. Eddie really had nothing to lose. He wins, people would’ve been shocked. He loses, people would’ve expected it.
    What Brian did prove however is, even without refined technique, he’s got POWER…and LOADS of it. All he literally has to do is refine his technique and build specific tendon strength/endurance. He does that, he’s got the advantage of 20+ years of strongman training/natural strong genetics to aid him with power output when trying to pin guys. Watch the hell out.

    • @anderswallin3883
      @anderswallin3883 9 годин тому +6

      Yeah i think that both nerves and Eddie was in his head there. By that sixth round he looked way better and actually dominated the way that i thought that he was going to do from round one. And actually telling Eddie to fight him. I am surprised that Brian seemed quite fresh even after the match even when he was clamping down so hard on Eddie. If Brian works on his hand and wrist even more and gets more endurance, he will be a problem for many people who wants the strap. They might get tired trying to get free from his hand.

      That was the best possible thing for brian. Actually it may have been better than running eddie over. Brian has about 10% the fluidity and thus the ability to access his power. Guys as tall and long as him take longer to achieve that coordination but i was blown away by the fact that hes actually truly built for this. Unlike larry wheels brian is huge and musclebound but his body doesn't build that lactic acid like wheels which enabled brian to remain rock strong through the entire match. Stamina is huge for super matches and brian just has that ability to retain his horsepower throughout a long match and he showed he has the heart needed cause he gutted it out. Lol he really is like a train or juggernaut. I was so upset and thought eddie was gonna legit win cause brians so huge and musclebound that i felt hed gas out for sure but he really convinced me lol. Some how he just has that stamina like a Diesel truck to keep that low end horsepower. The heart and ability to keep his power throughout convinced me cause everything else is guaranteed to come in time with steady training.

He is blessed with crazy stamina and endurance and the ability to retain his horsepower throughout a full championship duration super match which is actually insane. Remember larry wheels after a few rounds? That was a fear of mine but brian checked all the boxes we couldnt know until he was faced with those challenges. Im so fckng happy. I can see it now hes gonna be everything devon and others said which is insane coming from strongman at 40.

    I'm a UK fan, but was strongly routing for Brian as I know this is just the start of his journey. I think Brian showed a LOT of anxiety in the early rounds whereas Eddie REALLY played the villian roll well AND sprung early surprises with technique and power. I think eventually Brian learned to trust his strength over technique to get the match won, but the whole thing really did produce the drama, energy and excitement as we just didn't know who was going to win!!

      Eddie could have won that match in the straps. He thought that Brian would know some kind of advanced strap trickery from Devon, but if he had gone in there unintimidated by the straps and went for the slip, I believe he would have dominated Brian every round.

He showed insane stamina through a long hard match he didn't gas at all which is actually insane being so huge and musclebound. I was extremely nervous that hed gas if he couldn't run eddie over and he just stayed diesel strong throughout and showed unbreakable will and heart to gut it out. There's one thing we know FOR SURE about Eddie Hall, proven multiple times over. When he commits to doing something he usually performs better than expected and isn't scared to put himself out there and pit his body on the line to achieve something. In strap Eddie was connected and had better technique and enough strength to easily beat Brian, his ego and mocking of strap cost him the match but I don't think he cares enough. So he still showed that he got way further than Brian in 5 weeks than Brian in 6 months

  • @mikmiyaz8182
    @mikmiyaz8182 9 годин тому +4

    So in my opinion people made a bigger deal about brian having 6 months training vs eddie having 6 weeks. Fact is neither had enough time to make the match about technicality and fundamentals more so than raw natural strength etc. one thing ill say is in the back of my head i wasn't sure if Brian would be able to retain his immense power after a few hard rounds because hes not conditioned to it and hes just an enormous musclebound human. IMHO this was the best possible outcome short of dominating for Brian. He showed excellent stamina, heart and mental toughness and carried his horsepower throughout the long hard match. Im now convinced Brian has the 100% necessary x factor along with the obvious natural physical talent. In a few years hes gonna be an absolute animal. Like i said i had doubts that if he didn't run over eddie that he may gas etc but he remained rock strong through a hard long match!

      I feel as though everybody stating Eddie made this match much closer than it should've been is ignoring that Eddie looked like he was redlining pretty much every time he stood up to the table.
      Granted, it could be seen as a weakness if Brian isn't fully able to tap into the power that he should in order to win a match, but if you saw how much energy Eddie was putting into the match versus how much energy Brian was putting into the match, Brian for sure seemed like he had so much more left in the tank whereas Eddie looked like he was pretty gassed in comparison.

It seemed like a bit of a circus in the middle of an arm wrestling event. Especially after the match for the 20 min of saying thank you and generic interviews. I learnt that shit talkers don’t like shit talkers either. I felt a real animosity between Devon and Eddy, more so from eddy. He does not like Devon. All the videos leading up to the match if eddy is close to Devon there’s a sense of unease.
    The match itself was very enjoyable and I see how people not familiar with arm wrestling would have enjoyed it. So from that point it’s a good thing.

    I thought this was one of the more weaker cards to date. That’s not hate, I absolutely love the promotion and I’ve bought every PPV to date. But the Eddie and brain thing was more of a spectacle. I mean it almost felt staged. eVW has had way better cards in the past. For anyone saying this is the best card to date has lost their minds.
    I do want brain and Eddie to stay in the sport, but it just seemed like a bit of a circus when their match started. Paul linns match wasn’t close, Matt mask match wasn’t close, levan match wasn’t close, polka match wasn’t close, Cory match wasn’t really close, the girls had the best match. And overall it took 5 plus hours to get thru the show

    Everyone knows Eddie hall is stronger than Brian Shaw. Just Compare their best lifts. Eddie hall 500 deadlift, Shaw 460. Eddie 300 benchpress, Shaw 260 or so. Eddie shoulder press 210kg, Brian Shaw less. Also Eddie has a massive hand. This match result wasn’t a surprise to me.

      I think he log pressed over 220kg and was insanely close to getting the world record. He did that with a broken foot

    I don’t know about the match to be honest. Didn’t like the disrespect from Eddie, way too trashy. And Brians technique was worse than some people look at their first armwreslting practice! Love the guy, but he will never be elite, and Eddie actually has potential but trash talk like that takes away from the sportsmanship and respect that armwreslting used to have between opponents
