I just heard this version of yours for the first time. I'm moved. This song is my piano arrangement, it's essentially an improvisation I did on Clint's original electronic melody. Once I did a take that Clint really liked, that became the soundtrack. I have to tell you, some of the things you added from 2:55 onward -- I wish I had thought along those lines myself so that they could have made the original recording. Again, I was moved by your passionate contribution to taking this up a level. Well done.

Thank you for creating this piano arrangement that is purely majestic, the fact that the piano is solo without vocal or electronic sounds highlights all the emotions that this melody releases, really thank you so much for that! I tried to add my musical identity when I recorded it and I am very happy that you validate my interpretation:) it touches me enormously Are you still in contact with Clint? do you think it would be possible to make him listen to this cover? @ I'm in touch with him a few times a year. I can't promise anything but if the opportunity ever comes up I'll point him this way. But he's already quite observant of the covers and remixes people do of his work. He listens to a lot of them; it just isn't his style to comment when he does. So you never know but he may have already heard it :) Are you aware that there actually is a version with a vocal? After I laid down my version, it was passed on to Antony Hegarty of Antony & The Johnsons (now known as Anohni) and they wrote a vocal melody with some lyrics. Only a very rough recording was made, but if you look at the 'about' section of my channel, you'll see a link to it. I tried commenting this earlier but turns out YT deletes comments with links. You'll notice the piano is different. It's me playing on an old Steinway grand which has more dynamics and character. The official recording was made on a Yamaha grand, a commonly used film score piano because it's smooth and unobtrusive. That Yamaha was performed by Randy Kerber. (BTW that link is not a commercial release, it's just a document of some film score history. There's no monetization.)

I heard this years ago going through hard times. I tell yah for me it sets deep in the soul. So much internal strife and reflection. It just spoke to me. Will always be a top 3 of mine. Thank you for showing me the hand work. Gives it even more respect imo
you subverted expectations for us fans who have memorized this song note for note - in a way which totally respects the original, embellishes and builds upon it without trying to make it "your own" in a selfish way. yet it is still uniquely yours, with a distinct and personal voice. beautiful cover.

Vorzüglich gespielt, aber die größeren Variationen gefallen mir nicht, bezüglich des Themas. So einfach und puristisch, wie es Mansell erdacht hat, war es perfekt. Exquisite preformed, but those bigger variations do not fit to my ears, regarding the theme. Mansells puristic style was perfect.
