- Here it is, this is undoubtedly one of my favorite and most remembered Short Circus songs from the last two seasons of THE ELECTRIC COMPANY, sung by the line up of Janina Mathews, Rodney Lewis, Rejane Magloire, Todd Graff and June Angela as they are dancing inside a large pinball machine. Unfortunately, this is only a slide show consisting of two photo shots of the musical number but I was able to edit to make it more animated and colorful. The music director was Dave Conner.

Such a great vocal and musical arrangement. Could have easily been marketed as a pop hit while reaching the actual musical charts of that year!
This popped in my 43 year old head just now, and I was curious to see if the internets had it... never disappoints. LOL
Ain't it great? UA-cam is the best jukebox ever. And a song saying "You had my bumpers thumping, my buzzers all went zing" seemed so innocent when we were little moppets.
The show's final two seasons were the ones I remembered the best, as they were shown in two-year rerun cycles, for several years after they stopped production on Electric Company, in spring 1977. And this is one of the Short Circus songs I remember best, together with "Sweet Sweet Sway," and "The Fling."

When I was in second grade. we were watching this, and we had a fire drill during while this is playing. When the refrain starts the three blasts sounded exactly like the fire alarm. She was confused, it was funny, she figured it out.

I had a huge crush on Brooke Shields and was really into pinball at the time, but man, was that movie a disappointment. It exited theaters very quickly (this was before straight-to-video movies) and I saw an edited version on TV. Very weird, especially that hitchhiking scene with the pedo trucker.

I can't remember exactly, but it seems like this was maybe the greatest June Angela dance sequence in my memory, if I remember correctly. Would be great to see the original video, although it's still great to just hear the audio.

I wonder how many kids young enough to want to watch this show then actually understood what they were singing about....? I know at 4 or 5 or 6 years old (I watched this until it went off the air when I was about 12) I never knew what they actually were singing about. It made no sense to me because I always literally pictured a 4-chamber muscle shooting around a pinball machine. I always loved this one though.
Are you aware of the fact that the target age was 7-10?

Rarity indeed...a Short Circus song from the fourth lineup. I heard that during Electric Company's final two seasons (which I refer to as the "letter series" episodes), there were only a scant few new segments taped.
I'm sure there were more than that taped.
