This is a fantastic film, as is “Dillinger”! “Gun Crazy” is right up there with “Nightmare Alley” and “Kiss Me Deadly” as one of my favourite noir movies!
Pure Cinema Podcast brought me here, after talking about Gun Crazy in relation to David Lynch's Wild At Heart.
I just watched Gun Crazy for the first time, and I was blown away (no pun intended). The writing, cinematography, and editing are all just perfect. And the suspense in certain scenes was damn near unbearable. This is definitely one of my favorite noir films now.
I watched it today; I loved it !
Once again, Eddie Muller's intro rivals the movie for entertainment value. And this is one of the great Noirs, too.
Eddy has certainly kicked his tie game up in the last couple of years.
Outstanding film! Hard to believe-- but the director who did the murky, sexy, L.A. noir "Gun Crazy" also directed "My Name is Julia Ross". Quite the contrast to that polite, elegant thriller. Although both feature a female sociopath, must be the director's speciality!
Great intro to one of my very favourite films. Delighted you tagged Peggy as Irish. Maybe not actually born here, but hey!
I found this movie while watching the remake of Breathless with Richard Gere.
TRES Film Noir
Peggy Cummins was Welsh, not Irish.
no she was African-American, not transgender.

Actually she WAS Irish, born in Wales because of her parents getting caught in a storm while visiting Wales, their home being in Dublin.....fantastic movie.....
